Joe - Did you go zoom as a young child????

If you use the demo-mode analogy, try "mother" instead of "lode". Hermot could be 'hermit'. Ring a bell with anyone?

BTW- I just came back from Mounds. about 40 groups now.

I think Joe went zoom alot as a child. All clues mean something and thats what this board is for - sharing ideas, even if they don't make a whole lot of sense (like Joe's). Pssst., Hey Joe thanks for calling us all idiots, where is your most recent contribution????...........

....thought so. Joe's email rmilles@eta.k12.mn.us.. Shall we all give one last bow down to the great one, Super Joe, for enlightening us all with his infinite wisdom.

Joe You are right! We are idiots! Just look at last year -- they told us fairly quickly that it was at Como and...it ended up..at...Como...ok, bad example. But I'm sure you have one....

Joe I think you ate one to many RETARD SANDWITCHES. You need to lighten up.

I have to say I really agree with Paula it has to be at Mounds Park.

Maybe the capitol grounds, you can see two domes the capitol and cathedral. And didn't they have a big slide on Robert st. one year by the capitol? Clue #1 lucky one could be the big 1 on the first nat. bank. Maybe? Who knows.

Paula- Good research on the Rosebud tribe. You going to be at Mounds? Reed, How about you? I think Cherokee might be worth checking out -- just to see who's there.

How small or dangerous of a park is Prospect Terrace? because of the liabilitie of the paper to ravenous hunters.

Mr. Medallion- This WAS a nice place for us "sports" to get and share info. Why don't you and the horse you rode in on "log" off and the rest of us can get back to work being friendly and helpful! By the way, if you know where the medallion is it's worth giving up the $4,000 to see you go!

Joe, remarks like "I'm going to kill you" don't really cut it here or anywhere. If you continue to write abusive remarks towards people, I and others here will contact your school and have your email priviledges removed. It is very easy for the Pioneer Planet to trace your provider also, a detailed script shows exactly where you came from, down to the specific pc you are using. Terroristic threats are not tolerated here or any public site on the net. The Winter Carnival is fun. Searching is fun. Writing to others about something you have in common is fun. Your remarks are not fun to anyone but yourself. There are people in this forum from age 5 to 95, and we'd like to enjoy this once-a-year activity.

wright winger At the risk of incurring more death threats from our angry colleague, Prospect Terrace is very small and would be very dangerous with the hundreds of ravenous diggers clamoring to find the lode. I can not imagine the Paper would open themselves up to any liability. Along with that, they probably wouldn't hide it in (or near) newly planted rose bushes (at Mounds).

PS -- Way to go, Paula!

My lead is on the net - a local site. I'm not sure, but I bet we will see clues that lead to local St. Paul sites, as they are trying to promote the Pioneer Planet and others. We have registered buttons - will join with a group to search if interested. Send email if interested. I also believe the "dome" is the capitol only and Child's Road is the overlook point. I think Rosebud refers to a Chief burried at the park - the clue being "the park as a location" and "burried" - but I sure wish it wasn't underground! We nearly froze to death last year out at Como.

A bit of an aside (sorry): Does anyone have Clue No. 12 from last year? It was never posted on Pioneer Planet and I'd like to have it for my collection. E-mail it to me at saxx@execpc.com if you can help me. Thanks in advance.

For what it is worth, looking at a map, Prospect Park is in the center of Water, Wood and Delos streets. It is quite a small park without great reserves of parking that this event seems to require and it offers no sledding options. It does offer views of both the Capital and Cathedral. Mounds Park seems to meet more of the requirements, assuming that the Rosebud and zoom clues must to refer to sledding. If they don't, the Native American reference is a good back-up. And Joe, if I have somehow offended you, I apologize.

Chris Palmer Excellent job on noting Water Street, Wood street ... on either side of Prospect park! I think you've hit on something obvious!

Just Got back in and wanted to thank all of you (DAVE and CK1) for getting a point across to Joe. I feel like I oppened a can of worms when I asked Joe if he went zoom as a child, but it was nice to have the support from everone else that this is a constructive place. I'm sorry I brought this back up, but I had to be herd. Thanks again!!!

Dave: You are a beautiful man. I hope this is the last piece of a puzzle that will benefit the rest of the avid diggers. You, CK1, Wright Winger, Know It All, Steve Worthman, Paula, Snowball2, and others are proving my theory that this event is one of St. Paul's greatest community showcases. The $4,000 just makes it a little more interesting. Jim Walsh is onto something with that "Clank" article he wrote, but it's the "we were in it together" feeling that most people finish the hunt with. Let's not lose that.
