RIGHT NOW I'm giddy as a picking up a stange item in the woods and finding a something that looks like a blue puck in it.
Ok here's what just happened....
I went on my lunch break and on my short drive I saw a sign for an estate sale. I had some time to burn so I went in to look around. This estate sale is not normal for me it looked like the house was a collection point for the prior 5 sales the company had. It had 1000's of little items in every room in the house.
But I know what I want to see...so...basement here I come...... I'm normally just trying to find the workbench area of the house for the tools. But this time I find something strange. I found a lock box that had no key and it was locked. The box is about the size of 16 inches long, 6inches wide, and 6 inches deep. Price only $5.
I went to pick it up thinking it was empty and I then realized it was full since it weighs about 30lbs. I tried to shake it but not much movement but could feel something.
OK now I'm back at work...just thinking what's inside..and how am I going to open it.
My mind is racing.......either way for $5 I got something to keep me busy for a while and a new adventure.
oh and another JOE... what are these called... 150051 and 150051. I forgot...
She takes the youngest boy with her all the time, because he likes it for some strange reason.
He always seems to get something for free cuz he's "So darn cute" according to the old ladies working the sales.
The older boy hates going, so he doesn't go unless Mom forces him to because no one is home to watch him or whatever.
Anyway, the younger comes home with some pretty good stuff sometimes, and the older gets upset cuz his brother got some cool shit. He gets even more upset when he hears he got it for free.
What's my point?
I don't think I have one. Other than it's fun watching the older get upset.
hey-I got a call from Greg Brick the cave guy and we went down to the cave thisafternoon-It was really nice to get out of the house after my 'service engine now' light came on and I took the truck in to find out $2000 in repairs! I was sad. soooo, Greg gets interviewed alot -they tried to interview me but you guys know how I get in front of a camera-I really don't like it and its like looking at a red light. soooo I get this call on my cell phone from channel 9 (the history center gave them my number) ---I didn't talk with them either though-but Greg was awesome!!! he covered almost everything! soooo I think my finger may be on tv again tonight ---channel 9 at 9?
Silly, silly backslogging. "Meark2" hee. Ahreeze- with your backyard, you don't need flower boxes, or such nonsense. KQ was talking about the man-sex down at Crosby park the other day. I wonder if they would be humored by Dan's "close encounters" whilst looking for the medallion? Why do people not use the word "whilst" anymore? It useth not an apostrophe... Silly, silly backslogging. Hello back TV- and all.... So busy have I been, at that place called work, doing that thing called job. Hope all are well, happy, and capturing all the Joes you can.
visitors to Como Zoo will be greeted by volunteers asking them if they would like to make a donation.
I hate walking into Target and them asking me if I want a Target card- I know I will get the same feeling going to the zoo!
Meark2?
goodness
ESD-NICE KERRY DEVIL!!!!!!! I cannot stand those lines that go down the side of his face -one on each cheek-they look like his puppet strings were rubbing against his cheeks too long!
AND-as for Crosby---sooooo, I got this call from Fox 9 and the guy says "Mayor Kelly just finished up a news conference about the caves" - I said we were at 'the' cave now and he musta did it downtown (you would think) ....but nooooooo.... He did the cave news conference at CROSBY!!!!! WTF! you can catch it on local access channel 6 repeated---Kelly kept saying 'soft limestone' this and 'soft limestone' that---HEY MAYOR? ITS SANDSTONE YOU DOPE!!! he is St Pauls Mayor and doesn't even know?
soooo, I got this call from my sister and she tells me she saw me on channel 11. I said I stopped that interview (see above about 'red light') --turns out the guy had asked me like 2 questions and he put one on tv- When he was setting up the camera it was right below the cave entrance and I told him I felt very uncomfortable about talking right in front of this particular cave and especially soooo close to it-so after we got started I stopped it- I guess it was a combination of my 'red light' phobia but more so that he was doing interviews in front of this cave that spooked me. sooooo, as I am down there -about 10 students walked up to the cave to grieve -I step back and way out of the way -watching the gauking press -'vultures' -I will never forget this day---I walk around a bit -I hear something in the trees about 50 feet west of this group of kids grieving...its city workers trying to put a 'quick fix' to a long problem-making it look like they are appeasing the parents and public!!! what pissed me off and makes this extremely sick..is they were doing it as the kids were there and you could HEAR the shovels and spades scooping dirt to seal a cave. I looked into the brush and trees and sure enough there were the group of city workers. How aweful-if I woulda heard that while grieving-it sounded like at the cemetary.
I was glad to see todays paper- opinion page about how people think the city has neglected these caves. People in opinion page wanted to find a way to preserve our history not destroy it. I feel I have been talking to brick walls over the last couple monthes and finally others are speaking out. I like bricks, but only the historical ones ;p
There is sooo much more with all of this that it has been a trying month for me and I havnt been able to keep you all updated on everything...
another bad thing was the bill that the speleology group has been backing and trying to get past for rock climbers and cavers was vetoed yesterday DUE TO THIS INCIDENT. or so that is the excuse the Gov. gives.
Let us seal off, close up,and eliminate all things that can hurt kids. Even if you see something that MAY one day hurt someone- Report it IMMEDIATELY!!!! After all, we need to genetically alter our offspring to rid them of their inherent sense of adventure-need to explore and general invincible nature. Cannot have that, now- can we? This way parents will no longer have to parent, or even talk to their children, and they can send them out into a safe padded world.
Sheesh! Listen to me rant.... Me2- I thought of you right when that story broke- not that I thought you were involved, but that this would put a kibbosh on your researching. I would sell my house, move to St.Paul and personally spearhead a campaign if you were to run for Mayor. No lie!

Beginning Saturday, visitors to Como Zoo will be greeted by volunteers asking them if they would like to make a donation.
"We think people will be willing to help," said Liz Anderson, manager of the Como campus for the city's Parks and Recreation Department.
As far as anyone can tell, the zoo has been free since it opened in 1897 with three donated deer. Zoo officials are quick to say it will remain free.
But it needs money.
"We are one of four free large-city zoos," Anderson said, noting that even parking is free at the zoo.

It's a terrible story. And people are reacting too quickly to try to appease, I fear.
