Rick,

Do you have the funky new GUI showing up on your Mac?

I don't like it!

This is what it looks like.

Maybe I just need to get used to it.

what is that?

Office?

It looks like a scaled down version of Word for Windows, like MS Works.

Sorry, I should have explained.

It's how the text entry box here looks now on IE 5.5 or higher.

They must have upgraded last night.

the only change I notice on Safari is the "IE 5.5+ users: check out our new editing tools! Please report any problems with these here." above the editing box.

Cool! Way easier than using all the HTML.  Thanks for pointing it out THX.

I know a few people that could benefit from this right off the bat.

Especially the ones that find it hard to insert a picture.

I can go back to being brain dead again.

Know what I mean Vern?

Unfortunately they haven't figured out a way for spell check to ignore the HTML yet since it's still only recognized as simple text.

Well, I can't stand IE, and only use it when I have to.

When I use Netscape or Mozilla it still works the same as it always did.

Same here except for editing. Sometimes when you go into the editing box, the code is all jumbled....it fucks with the breaks big time

I noticed that too. And when I run my macro that plugs in my color, it automatically jumps down a few lines. I still can't figure out why.

btw: I thought you were Grandpa Dan Zachary for a second. He uses that avatar you've got now.

Which is better, btw, than what you had this AM. I had to turn off pics cuz I when I was at work.

Yea, I had a few people complain about it this morning so I changed it.

I personally don't care except when I'm at work, or when my kids are looking over my shoulder.

Well I got like hundreds of avatars, so if one is offending someone, it's really no biggie to change it...that is, unless it's political satire...those stay up...hahaha

No, I'm not a recovering drug addict...but I did get the pic from his site.

That's a good sign you're a dittohead.

But I didn't ask if you were a recovering drug addict either.

Well by your own logic, if your visiting this site, that's a good indicator that you're part of the cooler crew.

But I didn't ask if you were a recovering drug addict either.

You asked if I was a Rush ditto head. Rush is a recovering drug addict, and since I'm not, the answer is no, I'm not a Rush ditto head.

You're seeing a rather one-dimensional picture of Limbaugh, aren't you?

He's an arch-conservative. Listeners identify themselves as dittoheads. I listen to him, so maybe I am.

Well, if you are, more power to ya...If you aren't...more power to ya....either way, I'm sure Limbaugh appreciates your patronage, as it helps to sell his show.

Rick shows his ignorance once again. As I've said, we have several medallion finders in the Cooler Crew.

Anyway, you think you're better than us Rick?

You think you could find the park, much less the puck?

You're looking at one of the first Comcast HD/DVR/Cable boxes to leave the shop.  It's awesome with the exception that it only has 1 tuner and I know there are 2 tuner versions that have just been released to some cable companies by Motorola.  Other than that, I see it as something everyone will have in their homes by next year.

Since I haven't been able to get my slave drive up and running since the clicking began, does anyone have a suggestion of what to do or where to take it for data recovery?  I'd hate to have to reformat the thing and loose all the stuff I have on it.

Thanks

Haven't they had those for satellite for quite awhile?

Thanks guys. Bonus - My bro works for On-track. But I thought it was more for the large business data-recoveries. I'll check with him.

I guess I meant those that have cable.  Ares - Is there a 3-in-one box for satellite yet?

Very nice. Even has a 250g hard drive! Unfortunately it costs over $1,000.00 and I can't come up with that right now. I'll stick with mine for 9.99/month. I'm sure there will be something a bit newer 8 years from now anyway. Thanks for the link THX. I knew DVR's have been out for awhile but didn't know of cable or satellite offering them for rent yet. And with HD format. Are you able to rent those DVR's ares? That would be pretty cool if you could. If it was at a decent rate anyway.

$9.99 per month?  I assume that's just the rental of the box.  If that's what you're paying for cable, I want in!

Comcast offered me a year of free cable recently.

I thought about it, but my kids watch enough TV as it is. So I said no thanks.

Yeah, the $9.99 is just for the box.  The cable itself can be as low as 8.99 but I pay 23.99 for a bunch of channels.  It's normally over $50 for what I have but I get a discount because of having both internet and phone with them as well.

I thought about it, but my kids watch enough TV as it is.

I agree, but there are quite a few 'good' cable channels that aren't 24 hour Spongebob marathons either.

Agreed, Rick. With The History Channel, A&E, National Geographic, Biography, Animal Planet, Court TV, Discovery and occasionally SciFi, we virtually never watch the networks.

I end up watching Discovery, TLC, History (sometimes when they don't play the same shows over and over), SciFi, and maybe TechTV, but I heard they merged with g4 or some nonsense?

Anyways, I wish they had a package with jsut those channels, as it's a waste to have the other ones when I don't watch em anyways.
