Brown-Dancler's gun carried a loaded 14-round clip but had no bullet in the chamber, Crawford told the Star. When confronted, Honeycutt pulled his own 9 mm from the back of his pants and fired until it was empty. He says he fired 15 times in about eight seconds. An autopsy revealed Brown-Dancler was hit at least 10 times.
Swimming pools and bathtubs are more deadly to kids. Perhaps we should ban them.
It comes down to being responsible, wether it's a pool, knife, gun etc. The parent(s) should be responsible enough to take step to insure their kids safety. Accidents do happen but as a parent you have to minimize it for your kids. I keep mine in a safe, It's not one of the spendy fire proof ones but it does the job and keeps them out. I think guns were even more prevalent when I was a kid. My dad made it CRYSTAL clear that we could look at them any time with his supervision if we asked, but we were never to go near them. Now being kids we didn't always listen to dad, but that was one rule we never broke.
In 1996, handguns were used to murder 2 people in New Zealand, 15 in Japan, 30 in Great Britain, 106 in Canada, 213 in Germany and 9,390 in the United States.
30 people in great britain? aren't guns banned there? some ban....
Minnesota Attorney General Michael Hatch said he will appeal Finley's ruling. Hatch said he was still researching the opinion, but believes that conceal and carry permits obtained since the law was passed are still valid.
He said the whole issue of laws embracing more than one subject has been in debate for the past 10 years.
Hatch also said he is not aware of any ill effects from the gun law.
Think we'll see the left protesting the decision because it's a religious group that brought the lawsuit? Where,s the ACLU ? The atheists ? Oh, that's o.k this is a decision they agree with so we won't hear much.
Oh and all those no guns allowed signs are now null and void let's all carry to church and school.
That's the thing those idiot religious whackos didn't think of. Those that were issued CC permits (Which wasn't nearly as many as the fruitcakes claimed there would be), can now basically carry them anywhere.
Oh and all those no guns allowed signs are now null and void let's all carry to church and school.
ironically, my church *didn't* post a sign at the doors. guns are still forbidden in schools. there's always been legislation to that effect on the books.
Well since the judges reasoning was that it was attached to a bill and this is my favorite part..Wasn't debated enough. I guess now we can go back and repeal other decisions because they were done as an attachment that was unrelated. I have no idea what planet this judge lives on but they do it all the time. So let's trade. You keep your repeal of C.C and we can go back and throw out decisions we don't like. Forget that legislators voted for it and that they represent the people who elected them, damn the will of the people. If you don't like a law, just find a sympathetic judge who decides what he wants and voila!
The thing with these Churches is, all they had to do was kindly ask people not to bring there guns. I
t's as simple as that. B
ut no, they wanted to play politics.
"The Senate unanimously passed the DNR bill before it was amended in the House with the gun language. The House approved the amended bill 88-46 without holding committee hearings, Finley said in his ruling. When the amended bill returned to the Senate, it passed by a 37-30 vote, again without committee hearings, the judge said."
Why couldn't they send a clean bill to begin with?
Face it, this legislation was rammed through and the sponsors were afraid to have debated.
This sort of thing happens all the time and you know it, and you never cared about it before, because it usually happens with spending bills, which you Liberals love.

Dumbass robber!
at least he followed the first rule of shooting in defense. empty the gun lest it be emptied on you.
good shoot'in
Guns kept in the home for self-protection are 22 times more likely to kill a family member or friend than to kill in self-defense.[9]Sarah Brady's Firearm facts.
e.g. Girl Shoots, Kills Father
Girl Shoots, Kills Father
Nice!

Â
Brady is including 18 and 19 year olds as juveniles in that link. WTF???
How much else do you suppose is flawed or outright lies?
Â
gotta love this line:
In 1996, handguns were used to murder 2 people in New Zealand, 15 in Japan, 30 in Great Britain, 106 in Canada, 213 in Germany and 9,390 in the United States.
30 people in great britain? aren't guns banned there? some ban....
handguns were used to murder 2 people in New Zealand
Yeah, but 47 people were killed with a Duck Billed Platypus.
To paraphrase a president paraphrasing the Bible: Don't worry about the sliver in another's eye:
"30 people in great britain? aren't guns banned there? some ban...."
When there's a plank in your own.
9,390 in the United States.
9,390 in the United States.
A whopping 0.0032% of the population.
Keep in mind:
The UK;s population, last I saw is about 60 million.
Want to run the numbers out on that?
If the rate is so small in the U.S., why do you need a gun? You've just said there's nothing to worry about.
Want to run the numbers out on that?
0.00005%
why do you need a gun?
I refuse to be #9,391. I'd rather Joe Criminal Crack Addict be # 9,391.
So if our rate was the same as the UK's, The United states would have about 150 or so gun deaths in 1996. Less than Canada's
Things that make you go: Hmmmmmmm,
You've just said there's nothing to worry about.
Handguns aren't what I'm worried about.
Of course the rate is going to be higher in a county where we enjoy that freedom.
On the flip side of this, I'm sure the number of people that successfully defended themselves with handguns is also much greater.
"Of course the rate is going to be higher in a county where we enjoy that freedom."
About 9,400 people couldn't have enjoyed that freedom too much in 1996.
About 9,400 people couldn't have enjoyed that freedom too much in 1996.
But tens, if not hundreds of millions did.
Opportunity costs.
And someone has to pay.
Someone always has to pay.
It's not the fault of the handgun though.
Rick will wap the rapist with his fly rod when his door is kicked in at 2 am.
There's a chance that CC permits aren't valid anymore
He said the state Constitution prohibits laws from embracing more than one subject.
That's actually great news. Now we can go and overturn all the other legislation that was tacked on to bills.
I say we start with funding for judges, education, welfare....
Then we simply run CC back through legislation on its own.
This is a great day for Minnesota.
One Democrat I actually like. And voted for.

"This is a great day for Minnesota."
I concur!
Pathetic
"This is a great day for Minnesota."
I concur!
Typical. The will of the people is overridden and the liberals are filled with glee.
Thing is, I think this judge will be overturned anyway.
Which actually is too bad because it would be nice to have all other sorts of legislation found unconstitutional.
"The will of the people is overridden..."
I didn't get a chance to vote directly on this.
Did you vote for your Legislator, we do live in a Republic if I am not mistaken.
Think we'll see the left protesting the decision because it's a religious group that brought the lawsuit? Where,s the ACLU ? The atheists ? Oh, that's o.k this is a decision they agree with so we won't hear much.

Dumbasses.
HA HA HA BANG BANG it's the Wild Wild West!!!!
it's the Wild Wild West!!!!
The whole thing with CC is that those that obey the law do so. Those that don't are the ones that you need to worry about.
They don't give a shit about your law, no matter what it states.
Dumbasses!
Oh and all those no guns allowed signs are now null and void let's all carry to church and school.
ironically, my church *didn't* post a sign at the doors. guns are still forbidden in schools. there's always been legislation to that effect on the books.

exactly!

Pfffft!

Oh Yeah!
I just can't imagine all the legislation that could potentially be thrown out.
I'd start with judical funding (and fire that dumbass judge). Then move on to education, roadways, welfare, taxes, pollution control....
Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.

You're being intellectually dishonest here, Rick.
This sort of thing happens all the time and you know it, and you never cared about it before, because it usually happens with spending bills, which you Liberals love.
I think this is unique and unprecedented legislation. It's not another funding bill.
Why would you need a committee when it passed 88-46 and 37-30 ? It's not like the issue hadn't been debated at length for years.
So because there's no "committee hearings" Then it ought to be thrown out?
Like JT said be careful what you wish for. You just might get it.
I think this is unique and unprecedented legislation. It's not another funding bill.
That's just BS. T
he lefties can't even be honest about it. T
he truth is, they're anti-gun.
"By any means necessary".
BTW:Â To me, funding bills are more important than this non-issue.
