Certainly sounds like the last section of clue 5 refers to James J. Hill.... Unless my history is way off... How that connects to a park though...?

I think you can see the JJ Hill house from boyd park.

I don't think so, it has a statue of Frank Boyd though.

THG...says ..(wow long time since I typed THG)

beginning in 1903 with the help of J.J.Hill, the land of Cherokee was gradually acquired until the park took its current form in 1924.

but to further confuse me....

Irvine park is near the JJ hill house and also near Forepaughs Restaurant...which is also said to be haunted.

gateway - park gates like at CP, IM, Phalen, HF etc?

I'm just glad it isn't a reference to Como's wedding gate.  Sheesh!

Maybe a one-way street with a do-not-enter sign on the other street?

"...Some people may not realize that the "Center of the World" is in the Twin Cities, where Pike Island juts out from the place where the Mississippi and the Minnesota Rivers merge. I realize im like 50 posts late with this, but....Im pretty sure this newest one is talkin aboot (haha... i said ABOOT, look at me, im canadian) J.J. Hill, too..... and im guessing even further that the "Do not travel to the wrong side" thing, is talkin about the river...... although... be it, that if it is referenceing Hill.... maybe its saying that we shouldnt travel the wrong side of the
tracks
??

But anyhoot...... where can you see the J.J. Hill mansion from?  Harriet? Cherokee? its a stretch, but Mounds?  Lillydale? I know you can see the cathedral from spots in most, if not all of them... and the mansion is right up by there....    anyone know?

I just re-read the clues..........   like 2 summers ago, me and my dad and my sister took a tour of the Hill mansion...... it was on one of the weekends that they actually opened up the attic portion of the house (its only opened for viewing, like 2 or 3 weekends of the year)... I seem to remember them saying something about when the family lived in the house, that the attic was the kids play-room, and that from time to time your able to hear their ghosts or somethin, laughing and playing in the attic?.......

another thought..... maybe its something that you can see
from
the mansion?

For not this pioneer man, but his legacy
Built an empire,

JJ Hill

Rail Road Empire? How about Railroad Island? All aboard fits a RailRoad...

I used to live across the street from there. It's actually very nice to drive through during the fall foliage.  Very serene.  Not scary at all.

Unless you see me driving through with my Creepy Guy mask on that is.
