Thats called a lazy delivery person.
I am not on a doorstep route OR a motor route -so what do you call it when the newspaper is 10 feet from the front door on the sidewalk?
you call the pp and tell them your paper wasn't delivered. my dad used to do that all the time. they have always had a big orange pp-dispatch box on the front of the house. he's never onsidered the paper delivered if it wasn't in that box.
When I worked at Star Tribune, selling subscriptions.... and upgrades and stuff.... people would alotta times be like "The paper never gets delivered to my top step, like its supposed to!!!" and we were
told
, that in those cases, we should respond by saying "Well, sir/madam, any time that happens, you should let us know, and you've got a free newspaper coming your way"
Just a lil "behind the scenes" info.
Looks like i'll be calling the pp more often.... we only get the Sunday paper over here but half the time it's on the step, the other half it's somewhere on the sidewalk. So irritating!!
yea in about 3 hrs. The one in the bushes is free, but now your paying for a paper 3-4hrs late.
Sheesh!
You mean I have to walk 3 steps to get my paper?!? How dare they!!
People... It's a lot like bitching about paying $2 to go 20 miles in your car.Â
CM-where the heck are you? arnt you hunting? :(
I'm sorry sweetie. I see you must have a pretty big following since there's 81 posts since I last checked. This was one of those packed weekends. I'll start to slog tomorrow (later today) I'm sure this will be one of the hunts to remember since you have an awesome knowledge of St. Paul history and all.
-no pressure or anything-
Thanks for asking Mayor Me2
but will I use my history knowledge or wont I? ;)
Â
I hope we see you- I am bumbed I cant be IN the parks though -and a rehash hopefully will be on a weekday night -because we are heading out of town on Friday the 30th for 2 weeks. I epect this to be found around clue 9ish -and if everyone can go out on that night or the next I would be happy-but I understand if the FINDER cannot. I tried real hard to make this hunt up before we went out of town otherwise it would have to of been mid August.
Here's a few pix of today's Aquatennial storm
Â
This was taken during the torchlight parade
The sunset was spectacular!
Here's a panoramic of the area
ty bud - now get to bed!
Awesome pics CM!!! So who is the newest creepy guy?
nice photos.....I was hoping somebody was up there doing that...
Awesome photos! CM
Wow! Amazing shots CM, I think I'm jealous of your new digital camera. Mine probably wouldn't have done as well, especially on that sunset shot.
sweet pics, cm!!!
CM! Those pics are great! You could sell them!
Thanks a lot you guys. I'm glad you liked them. I only hope all of you got to see it first hand as it was pretty cool.
post card material
Â
CM - where did you take those pictures at? are you somewhere downtown St. Paul or ?? Awesome photos!! Definitely postcard material
Aw, man. I took some pics of the sunset and clouds last night, and now I'm too ashamed to even post 'em. Those were great!
post card material
My boss just said the same thing. Thanks
DD - I took them from my work at 394 & 100 on the edge of Mpls. I consider my building to have probably one of the the best views of downtown with maybe the exception of the old water tower towards the Walker Art Center and the 94E exit from 35W N. Anybody else have good viewing areas of Mpls? I love checking out fresh stuff. I drove to the top of a parking ramp the other day just to see if it had a decent view. I wasn't disappointed.
How about St. Paul? I know Mounds Park is pretty awesome and maybe even the lookout up by the Capitol or the stairs up the cliff on Wabasha. Anywhere else?
LL - See my tag line for a hint on my new celebrity mug shot avatar.
(edit) Post em Frosti!! I'm sure they're just fine like your others. I'd love to see a different angle anyway.
Â
Â
Yeah Frosti - post your pic's too!!
You can get a pretty good look at downtown St. Paul, from Mounds... or like... if you cross that bridge, that goes over University, by the capitol, it goes over by a parking lot, and over looks Down Town.....
The new Phalen Corridor, that goes from Payne Ave to Mississippi street has an Okay view from the end of it nearest the freeway (mississippi street)
either that, or I just noticed the other day, when we were comin home from Northtown mall, on 35E, coming south towards Maryland.... any one of those bridges has somewhat of a view of downtown....Â
haha... my mom works on the 24th floor of the Wells Fargo Building (formerly, the world trade center).... thats a good view too...... but i suppose that doesnt help ya at all...
Â
Don't know if it's been said, but wouldn't an obvious one be right on the high (smith) bridge. I drive home going over that bridge a lot and it's always amazing.
Found some used condoms today....and a sock...i'm not touching any of those...so I you thinkin...
its in a sock of sometype....go look by the tenniscourts in mounds...
the high (smith) bridge
Good one M2K. I had a great view of the Ice Palace fireworks when it was down on HI that year. That is very nice.
24th floor of the Wells Fargo Building
I'd love a shot from up there.Â
I think I see your mom
Â
There's a pretty good view of MPLS from the service road along 35W between Stinson BLVD & Industrial BLVD. I think it's Ridgeway Parkway. It runs along the cemetary on one side and Honeywell on the other.

When you can't afford condoms, use a sock instead.
why oh why am i reminded of the opening scene in american pie?
Listening to Red Hot Chili Peppers again?
maybe I'll see one of these....

I heard they are getting into the biz.
I'll take a look at my pics on the computer and see if there's any good ones. My battery died while I was taking them, so I haven't uploaded any yet.
And, if the cable guy truly shows up and connects our cable tonight as he's supposed to, I'll have the capacity!
My photo in post #1628 made the #2 spot on Weatherbug's Photo Hall Of Fame. For those of you that have it click on the 'see more pictures in your photo's' link.

On my weatherbug ...I liked the 3rd photo ...right after yours...
Yeah, that's an awesome shot of a tornado. I know I've seen that one in one of my Weatherguide calendars before.Â
me2 - I took those shots using my Olympus C-5000 Zoom.  I was so excited to get the pictures that I forgot to save my settings since I was experimenting with so many different variations at the time. Rainbows are generally difficult to capture.
