Submitted by Casey Trauer on

It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

DT Dave, guess I'm still confused.......... I think iconoclast refers to Howard Stern and Howard St. that runs by Conway Park? Any other ideas out there?

I was at Conway for about an hour and half. Looks good to me - I really like the glass peak of Sunray being the 'translucent peak'. There are alot of people, but it's

a big park.

Dindong Didllydias- 9, 5, 4, Across from Triangle Park there is an apt. building with the address 194 alson in the northeast corner of the park there are a set of signs

for 35E and 94...was at the park last night again and its still my favorite choice, but it is so dug up and my back is so hurting that I gave up. Can't place #'s with

anything else....any other ideas?

think the clue says you have have to be an iconoclast

Bubba - not a bad thought. I'll accept that.

How does the iconoclast clue fit in with Conway?? Is there a sledding hill there also?

THE ICONOCLAST COULD MEAN YOU HAVE TO BREAK THE ITEM IT IS IN.

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 4:13 PM Permalink
Bubba

iconoclast is the fact that it would take a critic to think it was at a playground rather than a park

Everyone lets head to conway!

At conway what about a MAN OF FAME THAT IS IN MANY A TOME!

Downtown Dave

Yes, I think that clue just is telling us to go somewhere where it hasn't been before, or hasn't been in a while...also study past but value in new seems to tell me that.

Or maybe there just saying don't go to Como....

It would not be prudent if you are holding out on your choice for the correct park based on 954.

Bryan, there is a sledding hill - I'm not sure about the iconoclast thing.

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 4:14 PM Permalink
Confused this year

Yes, sledding hill on east side of Conway Park. Iconoclast ideas ---1) it's never been hidden there. 2)Possibly referring to Howard Stern and Howard St. that

borders park.

A man of fame??? The park is on Ruth street...how about Babe Ruth?

I was searching in park in front of Cathedral based on the tome clue alone....After all Saint Paul wrote all those letters to Timothey and the Ephesians, and figured it

was the type of 150th anniversary clue PP would use.....

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 4:15 PM Permalink
Confused this year

Man or fame at Conway could refer to Babe Ruth. Ruth St. runs along park and other words in that clue are game and HOME and in homerun??????

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 4:16 PM Permalink

Snow man, yep lots of people - but it's a big park and there are lots of 'un-dug' places. After my feet warm up and I eat something I'm going back.

Minnehaha is about a mile north of the park...also known as 5....and 94 is a couple of blocks south of Conway...any questions?

A nine and a five and somewhere a four...

The round and white and strectched quite tight is the object that the medallion is hidden in.

What other hunches besides the Sunray have been discussed?? Peak?? What and where??

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 4:18 PM Permalink
Medallionhound

It's hidden in a round and white object.

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 4:19 PM Permalink
Confused this year

DAWG - maybe that refers to what it's hidden in and the fact that it's burried. Ideas have been a baseball, softball, and a tennis ball.

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 4:19 PM Permalink
Confused this year

Big glass pyramid on top of SunRay shopping center that you can see froom the park. It lights up at night.

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 4:20 PM Permalink

THE ROUND AND WHITE OBJECT COULD A SNOWBALL CUPCAKE WHICH COULD ALSO MEAN THE BLAST FROM THE PAST BECAUSE

IT WAS HIDDEN IN A SNOWBALL CUPCAKE YEARS AGO.

From what I seen at Conway, it has everything. 4,5,9 in the address', baseball diamonds with a scoreboard, sliding hill, translucent peak, a line of trees, library, bank

(which could refer to the sign of value'. I'll be back there in an hour or so. It feels 'right' to me (so far!)

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 4:21 PM Permalink
Hempdawg

I am heading out to Conway to find it!

Sun, 01/31/1999 - 4:21 PM Permalink
Medallionhound

Does not matter what it is hidden in as you would look at anything that your digging tool hit.

he medallion is probably in a baseball. That holds no sort of help because any forein object you find, you would obviously check out anyway. I.E. If you found a

baseball, a diaper, a Dorito's bag

I was at Conway about an hour or so ago, there were abou 50 people there. I'm sure I'll be backt there after then next clue tonight. The only clue which doesn't fit

there very obviously is the 954. But it is this clue which can be interpreted in about a billion different ways. Every other one fits there. But we need just a little more

specificity about WHERE in the park it is. Hopefully that will come tonight!
