Stand up for yourself, Mr. Tough Guy. I mean, SHIT MAN!!!
Not so much of a bounce when you look at the registered voter numbers.
Maybe for the CNN one, but they have had the president higher than the other polls anyway. Page down to the Time poll and you will see a different picture concerning registered voters. Also, Newsweek has some significant gains as well.
After President Bush came out of the Republican National Convention with an 11-point bounce, the media went into panic mode. Why, it looks like George Bush just might be re-elected! They can't have that, so now it's time to knock Bush down a notch, and the media's Bush-bashing machine is getting fired up.
First up, this idiotic nonsense about Bush's service in the Texas Air National Guard 30 years ago. Seems like we settled this last election, but the media and their masters at the DNC think they can get more mileage out of this. Apparently more records have been found on Bush's whereabouts during that time. The left is not satisfied...they're jumping up and down screaming that there are still gaps. Well whoop-tee-doo. The hypocrisy here is off the Richter Scale...shall we count the ways?
First of all, John Kerry has not released all of his military records. The Poodle's campaign tells the lie that all of the records are posted on his website, but they're not all there, nor have they ever been. Second, the media never had a problem when Bill Clinton ran for office against two war heroes with only a record of dodging the draft. At the time, John Kerry even said that it didn't matter. Apparently military service only matters when it's a Democrat we're talking about. Whatever.
Then, tonight on the CBS Evening Kerry, Dan Rather Biased will interview some guy who claims he got Bush into the National Guard's "champagne unit" for rich kids who wanted to avoid the draft. Never mind that the guy making the accusation is a partisan Democrat...that doesn't matter. It's Bush-bashing time!
Then there's this new Kitty Kelley trash book that is coming out, that will accuse the president of using cocaine. How nice. Newsweek passed on carrying excerpts from the book saying they "weren't comfortable with a lot of the reporting." I am sure plenty of other media outlets won't have a problem carrying it at all.
As The Poodle's chances continue to fade, look for an all-out assault on George W. Bush. The Democrats have no real issues to run on, and it shows. The zero hour is fast approaching, and they're getting desperate.
So let me get this straight. Swiftboat Vets were practically a branch of the Republican party. Barnes who has raised hundreds of thousands to the Democratic party, chairs Texans for Kerry and is also a former governor of Texas who under oath admitted he never was approached by the Bushs or anyone else to get George into the guard is not part of the Democratic machine?
Kitty Kelly. She's been writing National Enquirer type hit pices on the right for years, starting with Nancy Reagan. Newsweek passed on he for god's sake due to the thin nature of the charges. Yet NBC will be giving her 3 primetime slots in 3 days? Yea, she's not political though right?
After that, they showed several solgiers in the field in Iraq, and they all said that they had had enough. Deal with it.
Enough of what?
Enough of hearing it called a Quagmire? Enough of the media concentrating on only the negative? Enough of the left screaming war for oil? Enough of Kerry taking more positions than a hooker? Enough of Kerry voting for it and then against it? Enough of him saying the wrong war, the wrong place in the wrong time and then a day later saying they are fighting is part of the war on terrorism? Which is it? After Kerry's wrong war, wrong place wrong time speech a soldier remarked. Great, I'll remember that on my flight to Bagdhad next week, thanks for the support.
Here's what else they've had enough of.Â
BAQUBA, Iraq (AFP) - The deaths of 1,000 American troops in Iraq (news- web sites) since the 2003 invasion to topple Saddam Hussein (news- web sites) has only strengthened US resolve to restore security to the strife-torn country, soldiers said.
Dismissing parallels with the 1961-75 war in Vietnam, officers lashed out at the media for playing the grim-reaper over the mounting casualty toll and failing to appreciate the sacrifices made by each soldier.
"It sucks. The newspapers glorify it. Everyday, reporting the numbers going up and up, trying to push a point," said Captain Gregory Wingard, 39, at the 1st Infantry Division's Camp Warhorse near Baquba, north of Baghdad.
"Sad as it is for those 1,000 families and their friends, they're nothing to the number of Iraqis that get killed trying to defend their own families," he added, smoking a cigar with friends under the stars.
"There's one word you have to push back at them. Gettsburg: 63,000 killed in a single day," said Sergeant Kimberly Snow, 35, from Ohio, refering to the US civil war battle.
The conversation turns to a comrade, a Muslim US soldier who was killed in June when a suicide bomber blew up a car outside the north gate of the base.
"I'm nervous, sure, because you don't know. When I lay down on my rack for the first 10 minutes I'm listening for mortars," said Wingard.
The bombs make him "I want to get that bastard."
US patrols are considered combat missions and soldiers have to be prepared to the worst every time they roll out of their bases.
"There's always a fear in the back of your head, but you can't let it take over," said Snow, speaking about the soldiers' biggest scourge -- the improvised explosive device, known as IEDs to the army, or a roadside bomb to civilians.
"The scary thing is its not like facing a normal enemy and you've got a good chance of fighting back. You're just tooling down the road and boom there's an explosion," said National Guard Major Tony Quinn, from North Carolina.
"If 1,000 died today, that'd be pretty significant, but its just another number," said 36-year-old Quinn, who is based along the Iran-Iraqi border.
"Every single soldier knows the risk. You do the best you can with your day and don't think about it. If I was to get killed tomorrow by an IED, I would not regret coming over here," said Captain Michael Adams, 37, from Oregon.
"Six months ago people were afraid of their own shadow. Now I've seen kids playing in the park, farmers are out working. Now they can have a chance at rebuilding their country," he added.
"Obviously when you loose people, its a tragic time. But you don't loose morale. It strengthens your resolve," said Specialist Robert Bybee, 21, deployed in Saddam's hometown of Tikrit.
"Coffee lovers can now relish a rich cup of their favorite coffee, while at the same time, enjoying the political satire and humor on the individual packages," says Wilson. Â Â Â The new Political Grounds brands' labels include: "Roast the French" (French roast); "Yasser R a-Rat" (medium Guatemalan); "Say Howdy Saudi" (decaf); "Kerry's Camelot Cafe (Colombian); "Osama's Mama (Costa Rican); Grounds for Divorce (Ethiopian); "Jumpin' Jihad Java" (Sumatran); and "Flubba-Dubya's Campfire Coffee" (Kenya).
Assinate the messenger? Even though he has SEVERAL times denied the story as true, then he flip flops and says it all is true? And we are just suppose to except it as true and not question motives or anything? PLEASE!
BTW Kerry NEVERreceived a bounce in the polls from their convention!
Of course they're sick of it Bill. Nobody in their right mind wouldn't want to get back to a normal life, that goes without saying. The majority however wants to finish this mission. Does it mean they want to be there? Hell no. But it also doesn't mean they are ready to bail out either because they have SEEN the progress made. They've witnessed it upfront and can clearly see what we are doing is the right thing.
(I get this picture of fold filling up hard drive after hard drive with E-Mails and e-grams, some one needs a hobby.) Hi my name is Bill I like to piss people off and then save all the hate mail I get to prove that I am a victim LOL. Oh Foldy you can save this if you like.

ESD, all you have to do is touch fold's back and he'll crumble like a house of cards. It must be that bad to "collect" off it for 28 years. Why?, because Fold SAID SO!!!
And don't feel bad. He also called me fat at 6'-4" -Â 240. This from a guy who's 5'-11" - 220.
"WASHINGTON (AP) — While working relentlessly to portray Democratic Sen. John Kerry as a "flip-flopper," President Bush has his own history of changing his position, from reversals on steel tariffs and "nation-building" to reasons for invading Iraq."
He'll probably attempt to reverse them all in a second term.
He wins, there's four years of "nation building" right here that could change the country for our lifetimes.
He never changed his position of giving Gdubbya persmission to do so
He bounces around more than a super-ball.
but only after trying all other avenues of peaceful ramedies including building a coalition and the U.N. , for more than 5 minutes.
Which means "Here, you can have this power, but don't use it, and I'll hold it against you. Now sit still while I squeeze your balls a little harder".
Ever since that vote, Gdubbya has abused the power to do as HE pleases, in Iraq.
WE hold the burden, suffer the casuaties and will go up or down, with the progress or failure of that stupid War, which is getting worse by the DAY.
And if the war in Iraq had France, Germany and any other country, we would still hold the burden. It has always been that way. We always have the most troops in the field wether it is NATO or the U.N.
Here's a list of the countries supporting the effort.
Republic of Korea 590,911
Columbia 1,068
United States 302,483
Belgium 900
United Kingdom 14,198
South Africa 826
Canada 6,146
The Netherlands 819
Turkey 5,453
Luxembourg 44
Australia 2,282
Philippines 1,496
New Zealand 1,385
Thailand 1,204
Ethiopia 1,271
Greece 1,263
France 1,119
17 nations 38,203 total.
In case you're wondering. That is the list of the nations that participated in the Korean war . That was a UN action BTW. 17 nations provided troops. That is if you count the Koreans.  http://www.korean-war.com/unitednations.html At the peak of the 3 year war. there were 932,900 troops involved in the war. With the US sustaining 54,229 dead. The next highest in deaths was Britain with 710 dead in a 3 year war!Â
In our unilateral imperialistic endeavor. There are 35 nations with troops in Iraq for a total of 26,800 **** Note on next post. please scroll down to view. The chart kept posting at the bottom for some reason. If you can fix it JT please feel free. Anyway the next post is troops/countries participating in Iraq. 17 nations in Korea/35 in Iraq. Damn unilateralist.
[Edited 7 times. Most recently by on Sep 22, 2004 at 02:39pm.]
Yeah, there are sure a LOT of TROOPS being supplied by OTHER countries besides US in Iraq...oh yeah. Let's see... how much have all these big shots sent in there to help us fight? In Total, as compared to the Koren War?
Look at the numbers I posted. In total it's only a difference of about 9,000 troops. And there are actually more countries in Iraq than Korea. Was Korea a unilateral adventure?
What a laugh. This is a "coalition" of paper tigers, with some of them dropping out of even their "Paper" support, in recent days?
And look at Korea. You think Luxembourg was a big powerhouse. The numbers provided was boots on the ground Bill. First you complain there aren't enough from other nations and then criticize the ones that are there when there is more nations involved in Iraq than the entire Korean war. We've carried the heaviest load since WW2. Does it mean all of our acts were unilateral? If you look at history over the last 60 years you'd see that it's in line with other operations we've done. The unilateralist line is a myth and a falsehood.
France has already said they wouldn't be sending troops regardless of whom is in the White House, they want no part of it, never did. They're mad because they lost their best customer in Saddamn. Chirac and co. was too busy helping him while our troops were under fire. The entire rest of the UN is a corrupt (food for oil) and inneffective organization. They're nowhere they're neeeded and everywhere they're not. They pulled out of Iraq after ine attack. Yes if only they were involved more, that'd help. All those long list of UN accomplishments and French military victories.Â
"Here, as elsewhere in the populist heartland, Republicans are using the lure of social issues (God, guns, fear of outsiders, etc.) to align working people with the wealthy elite against a "liberal establishment" that no longer exists. The trick is working. Social issues never get solved, but the wealthy continue to get tax cuts that, in turn, deplete resources for schools, transportation and other public needs. The scam will continue until ordinary Minnesotans recognize that they're voting against their own economic interests."
"Ordinary" Minnesotan's are sick and tired of left wing uncontrolled spending. Tired of double didgit property tax increases. Tired of seeing their paychecks shrink. Tired of Democrats, period. Tired, tired, tired.
Says you. It's 17 more nations in Iraq than in Korea. 9,000 less troops total. Those are the numbers. You're contention that it's multilateral is lame. In fact as a percentage there's more foreign countries and troops helping In Iraq than there was in Korea.
The U.S. LED The U.N. Effort in 1950and we were seen as the only force able to block Communist Expansionin that whole area of the world, and we had just conquered/redeemed ALL of that area some 5 years before and, we had European Allies...On the ground and WITH US.
And we don't have European allies with us now? Hmmm. let's see Poland, Italy, Portugal, Netherlands, Romania, Bulgaria, Denmark, Norway, Lithuania, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Great Britain. That's 12 European nations helping us in Iraq. And in Korea it was 6 European nations. Yea, no European allies with us no siree bob. Yea unilateralists that we are.
This isn't anything LIKE Korea, any more than it is like "Vietnam", is it?Â
You tell me, you're the one who was calling it a quagmire after one week and comparing it to Vietnam. If it's fair for you to compare it to Vietnam it's fair to compare it to Korea.
"Here, as elsewhere in the populist heartland, Republicans are using the lure of social issues
And Democrats don't? Hello.
(God, guns, fear of outsiders, etc.)
Well plenty of Dems voted for conceal and carry peskt little 2nd amendment. I must have missed that legislation introduced that was going to force all those heathens to convert. Fear of outsiders? WTF does this mean. Immigration has actually increased. Gee they wouldn't be implying that we're racist would they, now there's a new trick. And why would we want to be leery or carefull about whom we allow in the country? Hmmm, can't think of anything can you? Let's get them all scholarships to flight school.
to align working people with the wealthy elite against a "liberal establishment" that no longer exists. The trick is working. Social issues never get solved,
I've got news for them. Plenty of working people have always been Republican. As far as social issues they'll never get solved completely. The libs have had power the majority of the time for the last 60 years, if they didn't get solved there's plenty of blame to go around.
but the wealthy continue to get tax cuts that, in turn, deplete resources for schools, transportation and other public needs.
Well considering that those evil damn Republicans are spending more that ever on transportation and education etc. I guess the class warfare isn't working either.
And here comes the rub
The scam will continue until ordinary Minnesotans recognize that they're voting against their own economic interests."
I'm outta here too.

You're the one deflecting. Give us one e-gram in the last 3 months. Just one. Jesus!
And YES, I DO keep records of everything.
Well that's just weird. I've currently got one e-gram from you, from two days ago, and zero e-mails.
I am betting I am not the only one, as JT has proven by his comments so far, but if I am, so be it.
What have my comments proven? That I still have an e-gram from two days ago?

He never changed his position of giving Gdubbya persmission to do so
He bounces around more than a super-ball.
but only after trying all other avenues of peaceful ramedies including building a coalition and the U.N. , for more than 5 minutes.
Which means "Here, you can have this power, but don't use it, and I'll hold it against you. Now sit still while I squeeze your balls a little harder".
Ever since that vote, Gdubbya has abused the power to do as HE pleases, in Iraq.
That's your opinion.
Right you are Wolvie.
Here's a list of the countries supporting the effort.
17 nations 38,203 total.
In case you're wondering. That is the list of the nations that participated in the
Korean war
There areÂ
35
nations with troops in Iraq for a total of 26,800 **** Note on next post. please scroll down to view. The chart kept posting at the bottom for some reason. If you can fix it JT please feel free. Anyway the next post is troops/countries participating in Iraq. 17 nations in Korea/35 in Iraq. Damn unilateralist.

Yeah, there are sure a LOT of TROOPS being supplied by OTHER countries besides US in Iraq...
I think that was sort of his point.
It's always the US supplying the troops.
There will NEVER be enough and it will never be a "Democracy", unless the IRAQI people decide it is so.
Fat Chance, of that.
Â
(I really don't know)....Won't the elections that is up and coming help with the start of democracy???
Â
Won't the elections that is up and coming help with the start of democracy???
If the insurgents don't scare everyone out of voting.
Those nutball fanatics don't want Democracy, they want to dictate.
"and still it is not enough"...kinda sounds like Fold's complaining on GW's massive increases in veteran's benefits.

What happened to Minnesota?
BULL. Those numbers reflect ZIP dude.
Rick,
From the editorial you posted.
"It's always a good way to bring people to your side is to insult their intelligence, that always works. "
How do you know that's their intent? I don't know that they're trying to pursuade people as much as point on the issue as they see it.
