If this baby is born today, it would have been pure luck that I'm right. I guessed the 22nd before they even told us the due date. I just liked a baby born on the cusp. I think that's lucky or something.
Well... I thought I was going to have her today. This morning we started out at our weekly ultrasound appt where she was very quiet, didn't want to move much at all or breathe on her own, tech also said it looked like my amnio fluid was low. So... she sent us over to my clinic for a non-stress test and to be seen by one of the doctors on duty today. The test showed that she was non-responsive, good heart beat but little movement, also that I was having contractions every 3 minutes, although I was only feelling like every 5th contaction if that. They also checked to see if I had dilated or if my amnio had started leaking. Still dilated at a 4-5, amnio is fine... but they sent me over to the hospital for monitoring and evaluation. UGH! We just got home from there. They said that since I want as natural of a child birth as possible they were going to send me home. My other option was to have pitocin and stay. No way!! I've heard too many horror stories about the effects of pitocin. So here I sit until either the contractions get stronger or my water breaks. umph!
Actually, pitocin isn't so bad ... does put you into high gear off the bat but hey... speeds you up too. I think when you are about to give birth some women feel like it is their obligation to tell you every horror story they know. You feel almost like you haven't earned your badge of motherhood if you don't have some horrific tale to share. Well I had 2 and I know everyone is different but I was induced with pitocin for both. Don't let those stories scare you. Yes you start harder and faster but is it unbearable? No. I have 2... I am a wimp and if it was that bad I would have stopped at 1. I agree that as natural as possible is the way to go but if they do have to induce you don't be scared... it really isn't that bad. And hopefully Bella will decide to cooperate and we will get to start our day tomorrow with baby news! Oh... and I was kidding about crossing your legs today, you might want to stop that and see what happens ;)  :ok now I am ducking:
Sorry you were sent home. We were sent home so many times that I edited all the times I videoed us leaving the house thinking it would be our last. Each time our smiles started to fade due to frustration. It sure made for a fun video tho. She was finally induced and had a C-section on day 6.  Very long labor too. I felt so bad for her but after the epidural and some other drugs, she was plenty fine. I don't think she realized she even had a baby until a week later. ;-)
If she would have been still showing non-reactive signs at the hospital and that she might be in trouble I wouldn't have hesitated to do the pitocin, but since she decided she better start moving or else I decided to just wait it out a bit longer. However, if my due date comes next week and she's still in my belly - bring it on!!!
I hear ya CM! That's how we're getting as well... very frustrated
Sarah's due date was Sept 26 -I went to a Twins game.
since no one chose today cept me (before I changed to the 17th) I will stick with today in my "imaginary pool" and then if she doesnt come today then I choose the 24th and then if she doesnt come on the 24th than I will choose the 26th since that was my original due date ;p I am a Sagittarius yah know ;P
Going back to your original posts for due date guesses huh? well... that's one way to stay on the guessing list. LOL
These stupid contractions are still not intensifying or setting into a pattern that I can feel. I think i'm going to go INSANE!! Maybe I should alert the hospital that they will need to get one of those padded rooms ready for me instead of a maternity room huh?
Hope things hurry for you. With my first I was in labor for 36 hours. From 10pm Saturday night until 9 pm Sunday night they were the inconsistent not necessarily too painfull kind. Luckily I was in Germany so they would not send me home. If I were in the states I swear they would never let me stay at the hospital:) Then Sunday night I had the pitocin...Good thing because it finally kicked things up a notch. Thomas was born at 6:42 am Monday morning. So keep your chin up.......
sorry "Bella Baby Joe"
What is this "Petty coat Junction"
Oh yeah! Good luck Dawg family!
finally?
YEAH! Â
I shoulda kept the 23rd!!!
