It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.
NICK...me too!!! I was looking at the fair - and i had exactly the same thoughts. first there is the giant slide (the giant yellow slide) and right by there is the channel
4, 5 and 9 booth. they are also near the pioneer press booth...and i was walking around and a guy in a truck said "are you looking for the medallion" and i said
yes..and he said well this is a private park. so i thought, okay.. do i believe him or not? well i guess some people say it's private and some public. not sure what to
think.. it was totally deserted though. nobody around.
Don't you think it's strange that no one is certain by now which park it is in? It was obvious last year by the 8th clue. I don't think the clues have been that helpful!
Lucky - The clue #4 fits in at Conway with studying the past can be quite a blast but there's value as well in the new. The medallian has never been at Conway (
New ) Study the past parks !! Also The phone number for Conway is 298 - 5742 hence comes the 9 - 5 - 4 I was just at Conway and there are people digging !!!!!
Snake - Conway is approx the general ball area is about 2 blocks and the whole area around the general streets are about 6 blocks. Sister - The phone number was
indeed a stretch however that is the only way I can put the numbers at that park
It's at Conway- Clue #1-Not on Golf Course Clue #2-Sliding hill (far end of park) Clue #3-Address (4-5-9) near Wilson St. Clue #4-Studying past- (wilson)
former president-(Wilson St.) Clue #5-Very near your goal (hockey rinks near fields) Clue #6-Man of fame-Wilson Clue #7-Trees in line (many lines of trees on
parks grounds) Valuble name-Example.. Wilson St. , Howard St. , Conway St. Clue #8-Translucent Peak (on top of sunray)
hunt junkie - really? It didn't look like it was today...but maybe it was. Hmmm...does that rule out Merriam then? I thought the clues fit Merriam the best of all so far.
just got home from scoping things out, didn't see too many "glowing translucent peaks" have eliminated several parks, Newell, Merriam, Highland, Rice, Hillcrest,
What's the consensus for what the med is hidden in? A softball or baseball seems like a good guess. Any other ideas? Well, I guess it really doesn't matter, since
nobody is really sure what park it's at. Besides, I think everyone picks up and looks at everything anyway.
sister - i think a small park and that is why they aren't giving it away so 10,000 people aren't all in one place but i am still leaning towards conway and capitol mall
Was at multiple parks today. A number of people digging at Phalen. No one at Cherokee (think like an iconoclast...) or Harriet Island. Some at Como. Some at
Merriam. The steeple allegedly does light up at night. Can also see the Grand Casino billboard from the park. (a valuable sign.)
Don't bet on too great a clue tonight. If it's at a small park, we won't get a great clue, I don't believe, until at least Mon. night.
Sister: The church is St. Mark's and we drove right up to it. Plus, used to live around there and I don't even remember it being lit, but on that I could be wrong. I
think last night's clue eliminates Merriam, but I liked it too before then.
Is Highland still a likely spot???
Has it been found
I think it might be up at woodrow school on the east side.

-Amy
Has everyone completely ruled out Newell?
MANY PEOPLE OUT
Nobody thinks it's Newell anymore
How can the state fairgrounds not be public property???
how does #4 = conway?
Is anyone still thinking Merriam?
I am going to go to HP
Where is Merriam?
So...hmm...maybe the guy driving around in the truck at the State Fair was just lying so HE could find the medallion!
LOL
Merriam is east of Cretin, South of 94 on St. Anthony Ave.
HOW BIG IS CONWAY
Could someone please explain...why Conway?
Not very big at all

Tonight is the night for the big clue I can feel it in my bones
I Wish...
I think the phone number thing for Conway is a stretch. It seems strange that they would use a phone number in the clue...why not an address?

Finders/Keepers - I hope so! I've been saying "tonights the night" for the past few nights!
I haven't been though
:)

Snake, did you call Dawn and Chris???
Russ ... remember you are to THINK of trees in a line ... the clue does not mean in literal sense
Russ - And from thinking first of trees in a line, a name will appear. Besides, every park has lots of trees.
Has anyone been out to Merriam? Was there today, just checking it out. Does anyone know if the church steeple you can see lights up?
I'm going back to Conway-
the steeple by merriam might light up, but it isn't translucent. It's covered in wooden shingles!
hunt junkie - really? It didn't look like it was today...but maybe it was. Hmmm...does that rule out Merriam then? I thought the clues fit Merriam the best of all so far.
I thought all the clues fit Newell pretty good
just got home from scoping things out, didn't see too many "glowing translucent peaks" have eliminated several parks, Newell, Merriam, Highland, Rice, Hillcrest,
Linwood, .....
YES I CALLED THEM
Jaguilar - What does that leave then? Como? What do you you think about Como? Was there today for the slide thing, but didn't do any digging.
What's the consensus for what the med is hidden in? A softball or baseball seems like a good guess. Any other ideas? Well, I guess it really doesn't matter, since

Some where thinking a KS95 bag ... hence 94.5 ... the hidden 4
Sure seems like a lot of people like Conway. I just don't get it. I guess I'll have to go out there.

If people were still thinking the KS95 thing, then what do they make of the first part of clue #8?
I was at Conway. It is there somewhere. No doubt in my mind!
Sugarlips and M&M - nice meeting you today!!!

Got back from THE Spot! Woo Hoo! Check it out, thanx for the tip earlier. Right on the Money, I'll tell you this much it's not in Newell!

we all seem to be at an impass here, maybe we will just have to wait for tonights clue, sure wish i could narrow it down to one park!
