Bella----Its about time you came outta that warm belly to say hi!!!! But now you need to start learning ASAP how to sleep through the night so your daddy can study!!!!!
ESD is off playing daddy right now so i'll quickly post her story. Friday morning at 1:20am water broke, strong contractions started 10 min later. When we got to Regions at 2am they were 8 min apart. Dilated to 5-6. Around 8 am contrax were 3-4 min apart but no further dilation. They gave me pitocin - wicked stuff!! They started coming every 1-2 minutes, really strong. By 10 am I was asking for drugs!! They gave me a spinal block. Finally at around Noon I felt like I needed to push.... about 30 minutes later here she is!!
Other than being tired and sore, i'm doing good. LOL Isabella sure is a hungry little bugger!
I think this is what amazed me the most when both of my girls were born. I was amazed at how easy the doc's made this look to do....The one doc ad 4 needles in his left hand (like cigerette's) then he finished everything he wanted to do in like 5 secs....I'm like holy crap that was fast!!!
I think what really amazed me is how much you pay them for about 3-5 mins. of work.......
**oh wait she had an epidural...sorry...
But I still should have studied to be an anesthesiologist if I would have only known (at about 6 grade)....I could make $$$$ like that and not really have to get my hands INSIDE of anything. I might have "listened" to my mom.
A spinal block (also called a spinal) involves an injection in the lower back that numbs the lower body. With a spinal, the medication is given only once (as compared to an epidural).
I am getting the hang of changing dippers, it's best to catch them right away.
Â
YA...its starts out easy......and you seem to work your way up!!!! Those "little" diapers and little poops are no biggy...just gotta do a lot of them......
BUT!!! as she grows...you have to do "less" of them....but the packages is bigger and smells a lot worse.....
but my that time...its still easy.....unless....(nevermind)
It could be colic. If mommy is nursing, she should avoid spicy foods, raw veggies and caffeine Have you tried laying her on her side with a receiving blanket rolled up tight against her back so she doesn't roll over onto her back?
Joseph had acid reflux. I would ask the Dr. how do I know if he is sick, the doctor would say if he projectiles. My reply was he can hit the wall right now on the other side of the room..........
She's grown an inch in the last two weeks.. now 21 inches long. She had lost a pound, but has now regained that plus a little.... now 8 lbs 9 oz. Overall she's doing really good. Doc suspects either acid reflux or a food allergy to cow milk based formula that we are supplementing with. She started her on baby zantac tonight that we are to try for the next week. If that doesn't help we are to switch to a soy based formula. Yes, i'm still breastfeeding her so i'm now on a very bland (boring!!) diet... no chocolate, tomato products, onions, garlic, gas producing foods, etc.
She slept really good in the car seat last night and in her bouncy seat this afternoon. She likes her head elevated. Hopefully we have found a solution that will work... we need some sleep!! ugh!
wooo hoooo!!!! YOU Both did a GOOD JOB!!!

Â
She is definately a cutie!!
New picture..
She is adorable!!! How are you feeling Dawg?
wow- is she cute!
Â
word of advice.....
don't get caught up with trying to get her to sleep just anywhere she is comfortable....
Â
such as her car seat or a swing.......(she will out grow it) (but it works)
Â
wow-so far you are lucky!
that is a long stretch ---but it will change
...I guarantee it-enjoy it :)
Â
is someone having a shower for Bella? or did they?
When we had Sarah the shower was 1 month later so everyone could see her-
When we had Whitney we had the shower 2 months before she came.
Â
Â
nah...just an internet junkie!
go to sleep baby Bella ... go to sleep...
up all night
JOE!!!
Cute pictures daddy
:)
every time we lay her on her back she screams bloody murder
I thought that was normal??
We think bella might have acid reflux every time we lay her on her back she screams bloody murder
She's gotta lay off the booze and jalapeño peppers.Â
I chose the reflux ;-)
every time we lay her on her back she screams bloody murder
More than likely she just doesn't like you putting her down.
:-)

the car seat trick works!!! but don't let it become a habit!!!!
I speak from experience....
Probably don't want to be feeding Bella this.
HaHa!
LOL

Hi, a baby swing works wonders :)
All of OT's ideas are great and the car seat too.
laying her on your chest to hear your heartbeat is good for both of you :)
I need to call you - I have that shirt for you and clothes for Bella (before she out grows them!)
Me2 we will be home for the reast of this weekend call any time.
