Great job WN!!!
Did you already start? What Kohls?
Its the one in Maplewood... and yes... i guess you could say that ive technically started... I had 2 days of "training" one day was 3 and a half hours of watching video's and filling out paperwork, and the second day was sitting infront of a computer for 4 and a half hours, and watching/listening to info on "how to handle customers", and a buncha other stuff that I'm not going to need to know, considering the fact that I'll be working overnight, when the place is closed.
Im done until next friday, and that will be my first "official" overnight shift, working there.
Don't worry JT, I've sat through my share of corporate bs. Just because I dodged the bullet on this one doesn't mean there isn't something else just as evil lurking around the corner.
I saw that, when I started workin at Marshal Fields.... thats actually a pretty cool one to watch... it made me want to not work at a retail place, and instead move out to Oregon, or wherever they had that place, and start a career of playing catch with fish.
It was in Seattle. And yeah, it was a cool video until you realize that there's not really any way to adopt the mindset of a pot smoking fish thrower in corporate america and not get fired.
Yeah I saw the "Who moved my cheese" video while on a contract job @ andersen windows. 2 weeks later they went on a laptop upgrade project out of state, just before leaving I got the ol "We gotta let you go". That wasn't surprising, course it was only a contract job, but I figured soon as I saw that video "changes" were on the way.
I've never seen the video. But I remember a few years ago one of the team leads on my floor (from another department) had a giant homemade poster of swiss cheese on his door that said "Who moved my cheese?" Imagine, every time you go see your leader and walk to his door you would think "This guy might fire me!"
I was supposed to read "Fish" for my last job and didn't - whenever a manager would ask me why I didn't I'd say "I'll read the book as soon as I can find out where my cheese went."
No one got it. Some days I'm funnier in my own head than out loud.

Gotta love the corporate training videos! Not.

Does "QBQ" mean anything to you?
Nope, should it?
? behind a ?
I googled it, and saw it's question behind a question. Looks like another lame corporate way to try to "improve the process."
I had "Personal Responsibility Training" last week.
I'm very sorry to hear that.
I had "Personal Responsibility Training" last week.
Or showed up drunk or something
It was mandatory.
Should have told them your parents already trained you=)
Don't worry JT, I've sat through my share of corporate bs. Just because I dodged the bullet on this one doesn't mean there isn't something else just as evil lurking around the corner.
It was mandatory.
Was it mandatory that you had to stay awake the whole time?
You know what, it actually wasn't too bad.
The ideas behind it were good anyway. Basically it was reacting constructively to problems and situations.
The presentation however, was a snore.
It was a Friday, I had a bad cold and just wanted to get the hell out of there.
Name tag JOE
Did you have to view The Fish Philosophy a couple years ago?
I saw that, when I started workin at Marshal Fields.... thats actually a pretty cool one to watch... it made me want to not work at a retail place, and instead move out to Oregon, or wherever they had that place, and start a career of playing catch with fish.

DAMN ! now what am I gonna do ?
Get in to Graphic Design LOL.
Did you have to view The Fish Philosophy a couple years ago?
No, but I heard about it.
I do recall the recent "Where's my cheese".
Who moved my cheese?
Yeah, that's it.
I recall it was all about "Change".
Which to me interpreted means "You could lose your job".
I could lose my job! Who have you been talking to?
JOE

That wasn't surprising, course it was only a contract job, but I figured soon as I saw that video "changes" were on the way.
I could lose my job! Who have you been talking to?
LOL!
I meant ME. I could lose my job.
I've never seen the video. But I remember a few years ago one of the team leads on my floor (from another department) had a giant homemade poster of swiss cheese on his door that said "Who moved my cheese?" Imagine, every time you go see your leader and walk to his door you would think "This guy might fire me!"
I'd probably just get hungry for cheese....
If theres a poster with food on it, nearby, I pretty much skip right over the words, and focus on the grub.
You're fired! Behold, the power of cheese.
I was supposed to read "Fish" for my last job and didn't - whenever a manager would ask me why I didn't I'd say "I'll read the book as soon as I can find out where my cheese went."

I want a nametag, too.
