It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.
I believe that the first two lines of clue #4, "Studying the past can be quite a blast, but there's value as well in the new," is indeed saying that the medallion is hidden in
a park it hasn't been in before. But I wonder about the iconoclast line. It seems like too strong a word just to imply that its a new park. I wonder if its possible that its
telling us that its hidden in a very unusual way and that's why it hasn't been found yet at Conway.
The line of trees at Conway leads exactly to a sign on the baseball diamond that reads "No Golfing". (First clue reads,"so please don't disturb a fairway or
It's nice to see that website is being used! I met face to face with the webmaster, Greg Sax today! He'll be glad so many of us are using the information there.
That Treasure Hunter's guide is only available through the libraries this year. A new, updated version is supposed to be published by this time next year. Check the
Hungry Mind Bookstore on Grand Ave. for that version next January.
Grandma the official treasure hunters guide is at hungry minds book store for $8.00. Call first they might be sold out. The guy is redoing the book for the year 2000.
Russ, I agree with you about Conway, but you have the explanations wrong.
#1 - In a park not on a golf course (Conway has a no golfing sign even!)
#2 - Downhill flying = sledding which is on the far east end of the park
#3 - 9,5,4. Don't have a concrete explanation for this yet but my current theory is that the word score might refer to the number 20 and that maybe the addresses we
should look for are something like 2095 with 2094 somewhere in the park on the other side of the street.
#4 - For those who study past hunts, they'll find the medallion is in a new location this year.
#5 - Yearning for learning refers to the library on the park grounds
#6 - A man of fame with a useful name, Henry Hudson (Hudson Guide). Old Hudson Rd. is one block south of the park.
#7 - trees in a line = wood row from which the name Wilson appears. Wilson Ave. is the street on the southern border of the park.
#8 - Round and white and stretched tight refers to the softball fields which are on the opposite end of the park from the sledding so now two clues place it at the
west end of the park. The translucent peak is easily visible coming from SunRay shopping center across the street.

iconoclast howard street runs right by it witch could be howerd stern, and who is a bigger iconoclast than him?
It's me Miss Valentine!! How did the search go after we left? I really think the cooler crew is on to the right park- now if we could just find the spot- earmuffs or
The search for food got to be very important - after all, how can one dig if one is starving!. Went to eat and are going to regroup at 11:30 at the park.
Smack, Jake and Terry V. thanks for the info. My Daughter lives by the hungry mind so I'll have here check it out. Been hunting for over 30 years and this has been
the hardest one yet to solve. Was at Triangle park about 3:00am Sat. morning...It is so dug up can't believe one could find anythingthere...but so many clues fit.
There is a Park called Wilder on Jesses Street that has a address of 958 but I dought if I'll make it there before tomorrow....I'm a ways away and resting my back so
Grandma Honeybear - We've been at it now for our 29th year. There was one other year that sent us over the brink. The year it was at Kellogg Park. We were sure
it was at Harriet Island. The clues fit there too. We never did make it to the right park that year.
I did have one thought today about what it might be hidden in. I have seen the thoughts about a softball and someone mentioned a tambourine or a toy drum.
I thought about those embroidery hoops...maybe with fabric on both sides with the medallion hidden in the middle. You can get pretty small hoops.
Conway sounds pretty good. I've never been there, but all the clues sure fit. I'm not real sure about Highland; I just don't think that all the clues fit it - but who
IT'S AT FRACK, AND TRIANGLE PARK.

The line of trees at Conway leads exactly to a sign on the baseball diamond that reads "No Golfing". (First clue reads,"so please don't disturb a fairway or
green")-Possibly near that sign

Hey Finders..................... Or should I say TED NARTIN, YOU REALLY NEED TO LEAVE, WE DON'T WANT YOU ON THIS SITE.
I think it is at Como park again. I don't think it is at Conway? How does that fit in with the iconclast?
That Conway thing could be right, because they said something about an important sign in clue #7. But where is Conway?
Who the hell is we
frack and TRIANGLE, ALL OF THE CLUED POINT TO IT. OR THE OTHER PARK COULD BE DASTER CAVE, IN COMO.
That Conway thing could be right, because they said something about an important sign in clue #7. But where is Conway?

Are my new found friends here tonight? Post in if you are!
Grandma the official treasure hunters guide is at hungry minds book store for $8.00. Call first they might be sold out. The guy is redoing the book for the year 2000.
Am I your new found friend?
if your info is so great then tell us HOW it points to it??

I agree with ouchie and finders too

Sugarlips!!!!!!!!!! Is that you????????????? Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Say hi to M&M too!!!!!!
Sugarlips - Have you rested up? Considering coming out to hunt after the next clue?
there is also an address across the street from conway that is 459.
I saw an MTC sign at Conway today on Wilson Ave. Does anybody know what bus goes by there?
It sounds like Conway is the spot! I think I'll be going out there after tonight's clue...anyone else going?
It's me Miss Valentine!! How did the search go after we left? I really think the cooler crew is on to the right park- now if we could just find the spot- earmuffs or
not!! :)
What if being an iconoclast meant challenging an idea as basic as "It's buried in the snow"? Where else could they hide it?
The search for food got to be very important - after all, how can one dig if one is starving!. Went to eat and are going to regroup at 11:30 at the park.
in a tree maybe

Wish I could freshman, but without a sitter I'm just along for the 'virtual' hunt!:)
Or maybe the most devious place of them all... in plain sight!
I wish I could sit for you, I need the money

Well, finding the medallion will pay alot better than I would!!! Good luck!
Maybe its under a big W.
Thanks ouchie, but I don't think I have a chance at it this year! Do you think it's at Conway? I think it could still be at Highland
I drove around to all the parks today, the two most likely ones in my mind are Linwood, and Conway. I still can not explain 954 for either though.
A big W, HA! That's great. That was a funny movie! It's a mad, mad, mad world
I did have one thought today about what it might be hidden in. I have seen the thoughts about a softball and someone mentioned a tambourine or a toy drum.
I thought about those embroidery hoops...maybe with fabric on both sides with the medallion hidden in the middle. You can get pretty small hoops.
Maybe its under a big 954.
