It looks like, in my neck of the woods at least, this is a bad year. Peak appears to be 6-8 occurrences per hour on November 17-18th. Not sure if I'll go out for that or not. Probably depend on how cold it gets.
On Saturday when we were out at Matt's Bar enjoying a Jucy Lucywith my brother and his wife, I mentioned the "get lit on LRT" idea to them. There was some definate interest. I think we might have to do this thing.
It was a little slice o' heaven. The cheese really stayed inside, and it was really really liquidy. Almost too liquidy. But if I would have been raised Catholic, the thing probably would have sent me to the confessional.
I can't help thinking that name is almost pornographic though. Or maybe I'm just sicker than I thought. Interesting to read about the bars though, I wish all restaurant reviews were so fun to peruse.
I know I'm in the minority at home, so I try to be considerate with the seat. I just figured I had a few more years before they started bitching about it. :-)
My friend Avatar lives in a seat and lid down house, period. I got used to that visiting him and adopted it here and it's kept me from sitting on a cold bowl in the middle of the night. At least if I don't check now, I'm only sitting on the lid. It's usually less cold.
That seems to work Chez Backstroke.
<edit> It also means EVERYONE moves and replaces something.
Prior to us having the kids, the house was split evenly. The rule of thumb was leave it however you want. There's a 50-50 (percentages change based on alcohol consumption) chance it'll be right next time you use it.
Now I'm the only "lid up" member of the house, so I put it down. Except when I forget. :-)
Our new place has 2 1/8 bathrooms. Two upstairs, and in the basement there's a little room with nothing but a toilet in it.
The toilet needs to be replaced because it runs constantly, so as a temporary solution we've turned the water off to it. But once that's fixed, it'll be my main facility.
Oddly enough, we can get it here too in MN. I went to the liquor store this afternoon and saw it for the first time in memory. I had some when we were in Europe, and it's a clean tasting pilsner. I'll have to pick some up and see how it is over here.
I didn't buy any today because I'm having a couple friends over tonight who only drink bad American beer.
I was going to say the opposite. I remember seeing Fat Tire around, but Full Sail isn't ringing any of my mental bells. But, who knows.
In other news, apparantly my friends and I are getting old. Last night, Steve couldn't make it over to watch the hockey game. Why? He threw his back out changing the oil on his van.
And in other beer news, I've tried lots of microbrews here - nothing great, but McMinimans has some decent beers. Went out and did the wine tours yesterday, nice scenery, and some decent wines.
Today we went to Powell's bookstore, and I spent $70 on 5 books - 3 of which are no longer in print, and two which are hard to come by. :) Then we went to Whole Foods Market, where we bought fabulous food for the holiday - and I bought a couple of beers for Frosti as presents! :)Â
Thanks! I'm earning them. One of your cats (not sure which one) has pooped on your floor every day since you've left. And Maya horked on the floor yesterday while I was there.
No, I've just been remiss in maintaining my stash.
That'll happen when you're drinking it quickly. ;)
I've got plenty of Snowshoe Grog for anybody who stops by.
A very cool site for estimating Leonid and Perseid meteor activity.Â

Aw, for the love of...
Now all they need to do is in-line a hookah with it.
Let's buy a few and open a bar!
Let's open a few and bar a buy.

Oh, the things I should be doing!
--Cleaning the house
--Homework
--Picking up leaves
Read the Jucy Lucy article(s) - sweet mother of Divinity, I had no idea this creation existed. I'm wondering how they seal the burgers together...Â
Sweeney's is a kick-ass little bar, nice beer selection on tap. I may have to experience the JLu phenomenon for myself...

You're just sicker than you thought.

G'day, you're Bruce! You think like a philosopher,
especially after you've had a few cold

You should have stayed away from the answers that had "beer" in them!
And now for something completely different.
You are a cardinal! You love to try & get others
into trouble, even if you have to make up
lies...NO ONE expects the Spanish Inquisition!

I actually used the line "No one expects the Spanish Inquisition" today in conversation.
Did the person you were talking to get the reference?
Recent conversation with E:
E: "Daddy, next time you go to the bathroom can you go to the other bathroom?"
Me: "Why?"
E: "Because I hate putting the thing that I sit on down."
Me: "OK."
Another fun facet of my life in the house of women.
ha...

I feel your pain

I bought a bigger house with 3 bathrooms....figures...
I know I'm still going to be left out.

Back to "Beer," we can now get Stella Artois here in SE Ohio.

obviously not me. ;)
I'm in Portland, having a JubilAle. Yummy!

Do you guys get Fat Tire in MN? I'm pretty sure I got some in South Dakota, it doesn't come this far east. Same question Full Sail.
Yes, and yes. You just have to know where to look. Not in common circulation, no. Full Sail more available than the Fat Tire though.
I was going to say the opposite. I remember seeing Fat Tire around, but Full Sail isn't ringing any of my mental bells. But, who knows.

I been telling you this.
Trying to decide what sort of beer to buy for thanksgiving.
Try a belgian. And get something normal too for the folks who won't like it.
There's a great beer and wine shop in Boone, Peabodys. I'll see what sort of selection they have.
I haven't had beer since I began this change in eating habits. So I'm looking forward to it.
You can always ask the people at the wine/beer shop if they have any recommendations. They might stock a good local brewer.
Yes, there was one in Boone I liked a lot, Cottonwood. But I think it went out of business.

Other than that, everything's lovely. :-)
sounds kinda shitty 2 me.
Please take this discussion over to the proper thread.
Sorry about that dude - thought you were going to make the missus do that. Heh.
Hopefully the highly hopped thank you will help heal the mental scars.
No worries. It's far better than cleaning up after a poopy kid.
