Knife or a rather large Ax. I was also thinking we need to drag an ATV with a tank full of steaming hot water out to the suspected site about clue 8 and melt all the snow with a hose and pump just to say we tried everything.

Showers and 49Â in December, I have no clue what to expect for this hunt
this mean we're taking showers in the park in Jan??
the leaf blower dudes from the hunt at (BEEEEEEEEEP)... whoops.. sorry.... might actually be welcomed this year, if the weather continues to be in the 50's
I think Med2K or someone has the 'snow depths' on their website somewhere. I also have kept newspaper clippings from the last 2 years that tell about snowfalls during certain months in St Paul over many years-I will have to go looking for those.

I remember those too. I think one of them was generated during the HS Hockey Tourney. Where it had some kind of an 80% chance of snow during that week or something.
Hey all - I got a response from Zephy (our Hunter in Baghdad) Here is his letter & I will attach his poem as well - it's very sweet.
Hey sunshine, I received your package today! (I used the dictionary below :) ) It was more than I could have hoped for. I have always wanted the treasure hunters guide, I wanted to buy one last year, but I never saw the guy selling it at the paper. And all of the clues! You are an angel!
The pens are pretty cool, (but not as good as the chocolates). I like the milk chocolate covered, dark chocolate covered caramel like thingys the best. They are to die for! (Maybe I shouldn't have eaten one...)  I was so inspired, I wrote a 'poem' for the cooler crew website, I hope the will publish it. I felt it was the least I could to for the hunt, after all of the good things it has given me. Here it is:
Here's some interesting tidbits of info for anyone who cares.
I was tracing Ramsey County's boundaries in my mapping software tonight. If you traveled along the entire border in a a big loop, you would travel about 58.36 miles. If my software is right, it also reported to me that the acreage of Ramsey County is 108,725.488. I haven't checked those numbers to see if they're close to official, but I thought it was interesting. Cliff Claven would be impressed anyway ;)
one of the reasons I was messing with that tonight. Here's what I have so far for a satellite image of ramsey county, overlayed with the past medallion locations that we've compiled. Hopefully I'll have a more completed list by the time the hunt comes around.
Okay...it's settled. I'll do the clings! Now to think up a cool design. I am TOTALLY digging (haha) the idea of hot water. I would much rather go out there with several watering cans with hot water and just pour it over the snow. It'd be so much more efficient. We are the "cooler" crew. Water just makes sense!
Oh and in response to Timmers' comment about the movie...I know he's got footage but he never asked me to sign a release so I doubt I'm in it. If I am in it, maybe it's in the background or something.
Where is my shovel no rake no shovel, Oh I don't know what I need this year LOL
ahem....
I know I will use my knife that will work.

I don't think showers would be a bad thing for some people during the course of the hunt.

Maybe Next YearÂ
The night is cool
I’m in line by you.
They think of us “fool”
To wait for the clue.
In line for 2 hours,
It never seems as long.
New friends are now ours,
At 11, we here the gong.
We rush for the paper,
Never trampling a foot.
A dollar a layer,
Searching for loot.
With the love for the search,
And our pride by our side.
The parks are our church,
As we hunt city-wide.
We search on the ‘net,
And chat with our friends.
Do we want it? You bet!
Will we find it? Depends.
As the clues, they all dwindle;
Others patience is thin.
Our hearts will rekindle,
“We hope they don’t win”.
The last clue appears,
It soon will be won.
We must face our own fears,
The hunt is all done.
-----Zephyrus, poeticus
Very cooler
Truly Awesome!!
Please send my kudos to our Baghdad Brother
The last clue appears,
It soon will be won.
We must face our own fears,
Hopefully one of us will find it before the last clue appears this year!

KC0GRN If you will allow me... when you get the list more update I would ike to post that on the site.
Who's the drunk who hid it in 1979? Heh
I wonder if the rules said it was in Ramsey County?
