It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

I was at newell and looked all over but saw no sign of a devils den... I think it was a farse... besides Newell is pretty much out anyway.
I don't think Conway qualifies as a park, it is a rec center which is why it has never been hden there. Can you see these translucent peaks that you can see from
Conway from Battle creek as well? heven't had a chance to get thre yet
lets not be so closed off on parks i mean this year unlike past ones there is no real big park where 100's of people are looking so its still up in the air and any info is
I would go search Conway now if it wasn't in something 'tight and white' meaning I probably wouldn't see it with my little pen light sticking out of my mouth : )
There is no Devils den in Newell Park untrue there may be no officail part called devils den but its been a place where highschool kids smoke dope and drink beer in
newell has been for years but theres no sign there for it that parts a farce
the clue specifically says a 'park'. if they were going to break tradition they wouldn't specifically put it somewhere that doesn't fit the first and most fundamental clue.
You can study the past by looking at all the other parks the medallion has been hidden in, but looking at a new park will could bring the treasure to you if you are an
iconoclast and break tradition about being in one of the past parks.
Let me tell you russ, instead of making a big fuss, i will tell you this. In order to find the prize, you must open your eyes and realize, the medallion is in Battle Creek
O.K., O.K., I apologize for my previous, bitter jabs. I'm a tad bit sorry I can't look for it. But you people can, so I'll tell you why I think it's at the Capital.
Here's why it seems to be hidden at the Capital.
Clue One:
It says public grounds first, then a park. Of course the mall can be called a park (and probabaly was called a park when it was last at the Capital), but you would
think of it as public grounds first.
Clue Two:
I was told there is a sledding attraction at the Capital this year. Even if there isn't, there was in past years. Do you all remember it?
Clue Three:
Not sure about the numbers.
Clue Four:
The "past" refers almost certainly to the Minnesota Historical Society, which sits between the Capital and the Cathedral.
And the strongest evidence of all the clues I think is "iconoclast." Journalists fashion themselves as high-brow people, and they would not pass up the opportunity to
make a reference to the curiosity that has aroused the attention of the nation. An iconoclast is, of course, somone who defies convention, and it is probably hard to
think of a better application than to your new governor.
Clue Five:
"Learning" refers to University Avenue, which runs into the Capital.
Clue Six:
Not sure about the famous person.
Clue Seven:
There is a specific word for a line of trees, though I cannot recall it now. A very specific word. All literate people, Think hard. It is something close to "promenade,"
for that's the word that comes to mind.
Clue Eight:
Not sure about the translucent reference, though there are some skyscrapers in St. Paul that have funky tops.
Clue Nine:
The red object would almost certainly be the large "1st" sign, long a staple of medallion clues.
If I were not 650 miles away, I would be looking at the Capital.
Decide for yourselves, being careful to recognize that it is difficult to abandon previous theories because you have invested so much in them, thus people continually
stretching the clues to fit their theories.
Good luck all. Ignore what I said about "YOU" never finding it. Somone finds it.
Oh, by the way, there was at least 100 people or more at Conway today and many will return there tomorrow. Tonight's clue only confirms more, at least for me,

Conway is technically listed as Conway Heights Park.
see you guys later
for those who think conway is it - how is "studying the past can be a blast" and "iconoclast" fit?
So post your info, Superstar!!!
Jim - TFT: Are you noodling the facts? What are you thinking? If you want to talk my phone is on.
what is a recreation center area if it is not a park or a park is a place for recreation !!!!!
I don't think Conway qualifies as a park, it is a rec center which is why it has never been hden there. Can you see these translucent peaks that you can see from

helpfull
Iconoclast because it's never been there before. It goes against tradition. "Studying the past" could reference the library?
Some clues may lead to Battle Creek, But all clues seem to aim at Conway
Hey L.J. Let's not rule out Conway Twitty
Theres no way it can be at Como!! If you think it's at Como tell me why???

Sharkcage - speaking of "info" ask your girl why her throat hurts! Think it doesn't?

I SURE HOPE THIS DAMN THING AIN'T AT CONWAY JUST TO PISS ALL OF YOU OFF. PAM CALL THE PARKS AND REC DEPT AND SEE
WHAT THEY TELL YOU, MAYBE THEY HAVE CHANGED THEIR MIND BUT I'D DOUBT IT
HOW ABOUT IRVINE IN ST. PAUL.....IF YOU LOOK UP THERE IS THE 1ST BANK BUILDING LIGHT FOR CLUE NUMBER NINE AND THE
WATER FALL
There is a sign at Conway on the baseball backstop that says "St. Paul Parks and Recreation" so maybe it is technically a park?
I can't figure out what 'tight and white' is, anyone have any ideas??
