NTFCF Trivia Question #2. This is not in the film due to its G-rating (and the fact that this fact is not really hunt-related), but it still makes for an intriguing trivia question.
Question:Â Which medallion hunter has a close relative who was once a Playboy centerfold?
Now I know every body thinks it's me because my wife is so beautiful and looks like a playboy bunny and all, but she never was in the magazine!
Thanks, Chesty. I'm sending out press releases on Monday. I'll send you one as soon as it's done. We're already in communication with local media, and we're starting to get some bites.
If anyone else has any local media contacts, please let us know. Map Guy, Med Hunter, and Jackie and I are trying to do some press together under the umbrella of "Treasure Hunt Inspires Documentary, Two Books"
Dersky & Co. a close second
w00t...I'm in the running!!!
Kitch, you must be the

My Dad is a local anchor, film critic and entertainment reporter for WCCO. If you send me a package I will make sure he gets it.

Susie, you might want to give equal billing to your mom and her Date With Dino show. ;) Oh, and isn't she a close, personal friend of Ron Popeil?
hehehe... Don't think She can be of much help here... unless you want to seal the movie in a bag to keep it fresh :)
New tagline.

I remember hearing about this before but can't remember.
Hey THX - You can quit with the teasing now. I can't control how crazy people get on the 12th clue. It'll just take me some time to recover is all.Â
THX 1138 1/7/05 11:32am
Nice to see you finally made it TT
Cluemaster, you were right re: NTFTC trivia question no. 2. I was devastated when you so quickly guessed the correct answer, so I let it sit for 24 hours and see if anyone else came up with anything interesting.
I'm not permitted to give the details, but feel free to ask Jake about it. As a side note, while Bud was in town during the 2002 hunt, he did manage to find the issue in a used bookstore on University.
Jackie and I will have to come up with more challenging questions. The Coolerheads are like the Ken Jennings of the medallion hunt.Â
Trent, when do we get question #3?
NTFTC Trivia Question #3:
Two part question... In Roger Barr's 1992 novel "The Treasure Hunt,"Â 1) which park was the medallion found in; and 2) what was the medallion hidden in?
And the bonus two-part question. 1) Has the real medallion ever been hidden in that park, and 2) has the real medallion ever been hidden in what it was hidden in in Barr's book?
And just a curious question from me:Â "Why did Roger's book not catch on with medallion hunters?"
Two part question... In Roger Barr's 1992 novel "The Treasure Hunt,"Â 1) which park was the medallion found in;
LINWOOD Park
and 2) what was the medallion hidden in?
an Coca Cola Aluminum can crushed
And the bonus two-part question. 1) Has the real medallion ever been hidden in that park,
NO
and 2) has the real medallion ever been hidden in what it was hidden in in Barr's book?  Â
YES in my favorite
Cherokee Park
And just a curious question from me:Â "Why did Roger's book not catch on with medallion hunters?"
I HAVE IT ---SIGNED :P
Â
Â
Â
Gulp... next question... (throwing all previous thought-up questions out)
All good novels have to kill someone off and Roger did it in this book as well -It is a great book but I am not sure many know about it.
It is ironic (or is it?) that the characters in the book were having trouble choosing between Cherokee and Linwood in the book and it happened to be found in Linwood (in the book) but in reality it was in Cherokee in the Coke can crushed -1974.
Â
That was intentional, right? The Linwood-Cherokee connection. I thought mabye he could have put it in a Pepsi can, which is what the Cherokee finder said after finding it.
I have a signed copy as well. Bought it at the Goodwill! I lent it out to someone, but can't remember who! lolÂ
In Roger Barr's book, he refers to something that happened when the medallion was hidden in Irvine Park. Did this really occur?Â
umm if you're talkin about people trashin a park, then yes, I believe that did happen.
BTW, I have it too, signed (to some other people, weird) got it off amazon.com's used books, for 2 bucks. Kinda a cool book, with the oddest ending I've ever read in a book. Had I predicted what would happen, it woulda been the total opposite of what did happen. Of course, that's life too I suppose.
you are making me wanna read it again!
it even has reference to Charlie Pitts and Como Lake in it hahahaha- so whoever did my hunt just needed to reference this book too :)
I vaguely recall the park being unkept for many years and deteriorated. It was restored in the 1970's but I dont recall it being "trashed" so to speak where it made headlines. The fountain unfortunately is not original -it ended up in someones garage and then dissappeared from there. Irvine used to have cows in it :)
Â
I liked the book too. It has stories that fit most hunters out there.
There is also a story of a boy being hung in Irvine Park and his ghost wanders the park.
There is also a story of a boy being hung in Irvine Park
I thought that was in the woods of Hidden Falls ;-)
I think this could be a trick question cause I dont recall reading about Irvine Park in the story -but it was a while ago.
Yes, I love the Charlie Pitts story.Â
Roger Barr was nice enough to sit for an interview for the documentary, most of which will be a DVD extra. I enjoyed his book and read it each year before the hunt.
I know a lot of hardcore hunter either have or have read his book, but I'm always surprised by how many hunters are unaware of the book. It would be great if Roger would print another run.
I was unaware of the book, but Scribe says we have it around here somewhere.
