web browsers is that if you use a font color

But do you need to do all that with the text editing tools that are on here now??
Unless they are turned off.
Certain browsers don't support the editing tools that are avaliable on the PF. So in some cases you might find a need for little HTML.
flexibility than the text editing tools
they have here.

so how do you get the box around your post? I feel left out :( I wanna play with a box too ;)
[Edited by on Jan 9, 2005 at 05:05pm.]
LL, on your browser, from the toolbar select "View" and then "Source" and you'll see the HTML used to create the table.
[Edited by on Jan 9, 2005 at 05:04pm.]
LL, I put the HTML in your last post.
Click on the edit post button, and you can easily see how it was done.
Just kinda scroll down till you start seeing stuff that looks familar.
Like this?
That wasn't it :)
Go to this post and do an edit on it

That looks like alot of work to me, I think I'll just stick with this :)
tables aren't too bad, I just don't use em much unless I'm dealing with sorting data.
::eyes glazing over::
set them." It looks like I did that here!

<table> tag to create a box. But the box
will be invisible unless you create a border around
the box. So if you use
<table border=2> you get a
box with a border 2 pixels wide around the box.

not quite I guess :)
Your a fast learner LL
pre-written HTML code that you save on your computer as
a text file using Windows Notepad if you use Windows.
Then I "copy" and "paste" it into the People's Forum box
and then insert my text. My prewritten code looks like:
<center>
<table border=2 cellpadding=5>
 Â
<td bgcolor="#ffeccc">
 Â
<font size=4 color=brown face="Comic Sans MS">|
</font>
 Â
</td>
</table>
</center>
Then I insert my message where the blue cursor is.
The
<center> tag places the box in the center (left to right)
of the available space on the web page. You can leave this out
if you want it left-justified.

<table> tag establishes a table.
border=2 puts a border of 2 pixels wide
around the table so you can see it.
cellpadding=5 sets the minimum distance from
the inserted text to the border at 5 pixels.
bgcolor="ffeccc" sets the background color
of the table to the cream color I use.
