Isn't it terrible having sick kids? You'd do just about anything to make them feel better. Poor things.
Mine is always better behaved when he's sick, he loves to just lay there and cuddle :)
Where's Allison by the way? Where's Marley? Where' Map Gooey?
AW's been around a little, but he said he's been busy. Map Guy's stopped by, but Marley.... Haven't seen him
Scribe and I drove by Como Friday night by the fire pits and saw a guy that looked like him. So we turned around to check it out. Pulled up to the fire pits, both of us gawking out the window, and this guy (Not Marley) looks at us like we're crazy.
Holy Cow! You take a weekend off away from the computer and you can't even slog through all the posts! I give up.
Trent, what's up with the Kirk condie avatar?
He's doing triva.. That was the hint for the last question.

Med Hunter, you should slog this thread. I've taken a page or two from your book with this trivia. After all, it's your trivia test that started me on the path to med hunting history nirvana.

No time for trivia tonight. I've had enough trivia recently. It'a all trivial anyway.

I'm about to head to work... I'll be ready for more of this when I get there
I slog it tomorrow. Night all!
The Bull Durham guy?? You people talkin bout Kevin Costner?? I didnt even know that he looks for the medallion. Is he a lurker too??
I was busy with a weekend of partying in essence. Poker game Friday night, luncheon on Saturday, then the officer installation ceremony for my Mason Lodge, then Game Night with my singles club which went until 4:30am, and then brunch at noon, then the Vikings Game. I'm only reading all this now because I was having trouble sleeping.
My schedule for January in general is looking pretty busy. I'm not sure if I will make the PDG and will only have sporadic time for hunting. Of course the way the clues have been lately, might as well just wait until clue 11 and then go dig around the park randomly. Seems to work for the people that find it.
Hi AW. nice to see ya. Hopefully you'll be able to squeeze in the PDG. If not, I'm sure we'll see ya out there poking around anyway.
Kitch, I had toughen up the questions. You guys ripped right through the first two.
If its on somewhere on the internet...(I normally can find it)....if its something I need to remember....(I don't stand a chance).
I honestly believe I got Long-term memery issues...my family says its because I'm getting older........but I think its from a head injury in a car accident.

Slogging trivia is frusterating. I knew it was Kirk Condie right away, and that picture is by the way a little freaky. I remember having a conversation about hunting technique with him down at the PP a few years ago, but don't remember what he said he used. I think TerryV may be right about the metal detector though, I think I recall him talking about that. As for his new method, I don't recall particularly agreeing with him despite the fact that he is a legend, so I am going to rule out spade shovel because if he had told me that I would have been like "ME TOO".
Wild Guess: Pitch Fork
HOE ;)

I'm thinkin' metal dect. old.
Hoe is new...
Old...metal dect.
NEW...PitchFork.
I know he used a metal detector in 1984 at Newell.
Hello Jake
[Edited by on Jan 10, 2005 at 09:46am.]
I am pretty sure that he used a metal detector in 1984, but not in 1992. In 1992 he used a pitchfork? And now he uses a hoe? The first two things that popped into my mind were pitchfork and hoe so that could be right.Â
Re: the picture
I guess I do have to admit that it captures Kirk in all his "maniacal brilliance". Honestly I can't say I know him well enough to quite understand what that means, but from my one conversation I had with him, I get your drift.Â
aaaaah, having problems with my computer makes playing along here very hard :( --- I had a conversation with Winabago Bill 2 years ago at a MaPress party about his RV- something about jealousy of his 2 women? his wife and his RV? He leaves one to be with another :)
I knew Kirk- but not his tools. Â

Nice wording, there....
DOH!
I wonder how Kirk does with his Hoes......
geeesh- I saw it when I typed it but really didnt give anyone enough credit to catch it ---

this is the cooler crew, beans
LOL
Ok... pay me and I will be attending the 12:30 showing :). We also decided to get a hotel that night so we can enjoy the drink while the boys are at Grandmas.
In 1984 Kirk used a metal detector with a HOE to find the treasure. In 1992, he used the SAME HOE to find the treasure at Cherokee. A little addition to the Kirk Condie trivia question: Moments before Kirk found the medallion, he noticed a liquid spilled in the snow right where the medallion was hidden. What was it?

Coffee?
Kirk? Is that you?
Welcome Newbie!
Anyone know where to get a pocket knife for a cub scout (Besides the cub scout shop). It doesn't have to be a Scout knife.
Wal Mart?
That's what I was thinking, but when I went online, they didn't have squat. I think I'll run to Target, then Wally world and see.
I've noticed that half the time they don't list things online that my store has. They have a pretty good size selection of knifes though. Target might have a better selection on smaller pocket knifes however.
Joe
Bastard got the Triple Quad PalinaJOE!
This basterd is quoted in your tagline (finally my prayers have been answered and my dreams fulfilled).
Timmers.. you have no need to hunt this year. You are already on top of the world now.

Yeah, but then it would be even weirder when I follow THX around.
LOL
THX - if Target doesn't have any, try a drug store like Walgreen's.Â
