My Target on Robert St. is closed. :( They're tearing it down and building a Super Target or some such thing.
The Target next to the Pizza Hut?
Yeah, that one.
Damn, I didn't know that. Thanks for telling me. Who knows if I would have gone there for something and found it closed. Hopefully the new one will be bigger and better.
I hope it doesn't take as long to finish as the Wakota Bridge!! I guess that new Wal-Mart is going to open soon though. It's a nice looking building. Too nice for Robert St. I think. ;)
Robert St. reminds me of a living graveyard of an ever changing business hodgepodge. No real design. Very 70's.

In 1984 Kirk used a metal detector with a HOE to find the treasure. In 1992, he used the SAME HOE to find the treasure at Cherokee. A little addition to the Kirk Condie trivia question: Moments before Kirk found the medallion, he noticed a liquid spilled in the snow right where the medallion was hidden. What was it?
newbie, very impressive. The liquid Kirk noticed right before he found the med would be orange soda... that was spilled on the huge pile of snow that was giving him a faint reading on his metal detector.
So the answer to NTFCF Trivia Question #4 is: Kirk found the med with a hoe using both a hoe in 1984 and in 1992. In 1984 he also used a metal detector. Kirk now swears by the pitchfork, though he has been seen lately with a hockey stick and a small broken red hand rake.
Another bit of Kirk Condie trivia. He is the only two-time finder who found two different medallions. He found the old bronze medallion in 1984 and the blue lucite puck in 1992. So, if by chance, he finds it a third time, it will be yet another medallion since the blue Lucite puck that was used from 1991-2004 has been retired by the PP.

Do you have proof of this?

NTFCT Trivia Question #5. Like many avid treasure hunters, Steve Worthman's wife is not fond of his annual January obsession. What television channel does Steve's wife say she'd rather watch than hunt for the medallion (now I realize that you haven't seen the film, but it shouldn't be too hard to venture a correct guess on this one).
Bonus Question: Steve is not a native St. Paulite. Where is he originally from?
Bonus question #2: The other two authors of treasure hunt books, Mr. Med Hunter and Roger Barr, are also non-native Saint Paulites. Where do they originally hail from?
Confession: I don't know the answers to bonus question #2. I know Med Hunter's state, but I don't know where Roger Barr is originally from, but I do know that he's not a native Saint Paulite. Of course, Med Hunter can verify his info. Hopefully, I can find the Roger Barr info online somewhere; otherwise, I've just asked a question I can't answer.
The Discovery Channel? ;-)
All three authors must be from Como since that isn't considered a St. Paul park anyway.
(wait - sorry bout that, that's only in my book)Â Although one of them is from across the river.

Clue Master, you were our first interview for the film in 2001. I remember how you so eloguently compared your failures at med hunting to the history of the Vikings franchise. So perhaps 2005 is your year... Of course, you would be at a huge advantage if they would just hide that thing in a bottle of Peppermint Schnapps.

Mape Gui is from the evil city, isn't he?
His wife would rather watch UPN?
That's definitely lower than the other channels out there Timmers.
home and garden channel?
Well you said she'd rather watch it then hunt, I figured it was said with some sort of contempt. And that would be a low blow.
I'll go with something possibley related to Steve...
ESPN
CNN?
Spike TV? Oxygen Network?

Was this meant for me, I'm not following
oh dangit, that looks bad that I guessed after I got it.
We knew that gooie was from over there (well here for me at the moment since I'm at work) But I'm thinking that Barr is from greater MN and Jesse is a transplant from some place warm for some reason. Nothing to back up my guess just an odd feeling. Maybe it's viseversa.
Go back and edit your second post KC and say that you knew it all the time -Â Â ;-)

This all begs the question... why do non-St. Paulites get so obsessed with this hunt to the point of writing books, or in the case of Jackie and me, making a documentary? Coincidence or enemy action? :-)
St. Paulites are satisfied with just having their love of the hunt. Non-St.Paulites see a chance to make money, you dirty capitalist basterds.
I hope it doesn't take as long to finish as the Wakota Bridge!!
The Target won't be finished until October. I only know this because they are doing the exact same thing to the Target I usually go to in Roseville (That's the first Target ever, by the way) Turning it into a Super Target seems like a good idea, but 10 months seems like a long time, looks like I'll be heading to the Midway one from now on.
LOL, Tim. My thoughts exactly. The problem is that we're not very good capitalists. I think we're all losing money.
Doesn't mean you aren't still evil. Just kidding Trent.
Trent and Tim
Which one am I?
Steve is from Minneapolis. I'll take a wild GPS guess that Med Hunter is from Wisconsin, and may be able to narrow it down a bit.
No, me and trent...

Well I'm from Maple Grove but I work in St Paul so I'm sorta half a St Paulite
I think
I've never lived in St. Paul, but I'm a St. Paulite at heart.
CM, I just bought our daughter the Lorax DVD today. How coincidental...

Well done NoTimeForColdFeet. It was orange soda. Another addition to the Kirk Condie Question. What did Kirk see in the sky the day he found the medallion. (Hint: something not seen very often)
