Well, first, are you at work? And if so, is there anything that you can look at on your end that would explain why my internet IS SLOWER THAN DIAL UP! Just wondering.
I wish I could help OT. I don't have anyway to check :(. Did you try calling the customer service number? They can check modem at least and make sure that it's not a network issue.
Hey OTS - Next time you're at work see if you can look up anything regarding the 2 tuner DVR muting itself. Each night when I get home I need to take out the super old AT&T cable remote to take the mute off. I can't use the current remote because it defaults to the TV mute and not the cable mute. I have no idea why it's activated or how to even do it manually for that matter. Do you think it could come across within the digital conversion of a taped program? It doesn't happen on the weekends when I'm not taping my normal shows. I'm thinking it's ET for some reason.
I will look into it CM. Anything is possible these days. Certain power saving bulbs will turn cause your cable box to change channels and swith on and off at times. So this wouldn't be anything wierd to hear about.
Cooler OTS - I had a guy scheduled to come out but thought I could get a worse box and would just put up with this until a fix was sent over the cable into the box.
Are you talking about sending a signal? That helped clear up some of the other problems I was having but not that one. It also took 2 days to get all the programming back into my memory. But if you know a way to check, please do. You know my name now right?
Unfortunately this is known bug with the current software. It's being addressed in the next guide code release hopefully sometime early Feb or March but there is no fix for it. You either have to leave the box powered on (easiest solution) or program the remote to control the volume through the cable box rather then the default setting of the TV. If you set the remote to control the cable box volume, you can just unmute in this situation. (Either way, the program will always be recorded with sound.)
You either have to leave the box powered on (easiest solution)
How can I do that? After a program is done being taped, it automatically turns the box off.  It'll turn off once a scheduled program is finished even if I'm watching a different taped program. Which sucks. Every night at 1:06 my box turns off right when I'm in the middle of watching something because the current program was finished being taped.  Does that make sense?
I wonder if there is something like the switched/non-switched power option where I could control if the box stays on or not after recording something? Any idea?
tag...no tag's back...
Please ask away....
well, my connection is a lot bigger then yours :)
Define "Bigger".

I'm at home.... so I have no way to see the network.
Jeeze Louise! No one has been here since late April, and I come in to have a nice quiet conversation with Search, and look what happens!
OK, Search. Thanks anyway. Maybe I'll make an appointment to meet with you next time you work.
I'll be there tomorrow night after 11. Just find me on here and I'll get your account info and take a look.
Thanks, Search! But no kidding, I might as well have dial-up. Anyone wants to get hold of me, they can call my cell, and this is just crazy!
Is it all the internet or just the PF? I have noticed a small drag here once in a while.
I'm flying here brother
Zooooooooooooooooooooooom!!!
Everything. It's so slow, I'll click on something and open another window and fool around in there waiting for it to open, and then do the same here.

damn you!!!!

its all relative, thx.
You seen one.... You seen them all? LOL
But no kidding, I might as well have dial-up.
I've noticed it slogging along the past week or so. I think it's PF and not your connection.

If anything I'll hit the box from work and see if that doesn't knock it straight.
Can you hit mine too while you're at it?? :)
Is there something wrong with your cable box too OT?
Oh, never mind.
OT, When I check your modem I will reset it among other things. If stuff is mucked up I'll get it working for you :)

Thank you so ever much! :)
Vanderbeakenschmitz?
I can say that cuz I was married to a Dutch man. ;)
Not off hand CM. I'll get if from you when I'm at work.
AS far as your dual DVR muting itself:

Myth: Cable piracy is wrong.
