Oh well, at least we were beat by a team better than us. Think if we lost to GB? We had our season closer last week. I'm actually content for the first time in a long while at season's end. We suck on many levels but I don't feel bad about today's game. And Philly deserved that highlight reel bounced TD. You can't argue that that wasn't fun to watch. It sure did set the tone for where the breaks were gonna be going anyway.
"There's always next year" (unless they move it outta Dodge which I don't see happening)
What if I'm paying taxes and don't like football or baseball.
Why should my tax money go for something I have no interest in. As much as these sports might fund local business or the local economy they are still a pastime. They do not contribute to the things NEEDED by society.
Fire services.... needed, police..... needed, highway repair..... needed, schools..... needed, football.... not needed... liked, but not needed.
Loans and breaks from deals.. thats a local governments right to decide.
But a sports team that is going to make money regardless asking for funds is silly.
There's someone at Winter Park who really doesn't enjoy this Randy Moss trade-bait talk: Brad Madson, community relations guy.
"I would miss him, and so would a lot of economically and physically challenged kids," Madson said. "Randy and Matt Birk did the most community service on the team this year."
But I heard Moss tell ESPN that he wasn't listening to what Birk was saying about the receiver's two-second early exit from the Washington game.
"I saw it, too, but the day after we lost and everybody was saying their goodbyes, Randy was signing a jersey for Matt Birk's foundation," Madson said. "So it looked to me like they were getting along."
While many others find Moss so annoying that some fool in Madison, Wis., put up a billboard that said, "Zero Rings for Randy Moss -- PRICELESS," and out on the Web there's a fake ad for Charmin Ultra doing what he was doing near that Green Bay goal post, Madson has a shockingly different take on Randy. "He makes my job easy because he comes up with the ideas to help kids," Madson said.
"He makes my job easy because he comes up with the ideas to help kids. Whether it's reading at pizza parties, giving away bikes or hosting a Christmas party with Matt and coach [Mike] Tice for 400 needy folks on the Monday before we played the Packers on Christmas Eve, Randy has been there."
Madson loves the thank-you letters they get from kids. "They say, I like to read more now. Thanks for coming to our school. And then in about a third of them they write, 'Who was the white dude with you?'
"I'm proud to stand by Randy and consider him a good friend."
In another defense of Moss, Sam Neumann of Chisago City, Minn., told Sporting News: "When Randy Moss 'moons' fans, we hear about it for weeks. But when he gives touchdown balls to handicapped children, we don't hear a peep. Funny how that works."Also in Sporting News, the Vikings owner got a mention in a blurb about Mr. Blackwell naming Serena Williams and Nicollet Sheridan to his 2004 Worst Dressed list. "When Mr. B gets around to his men's rankings, here are four words for him: Red McCombs in fur."
In our minds he's worth a lot, but look at what was being offered. This seemed like the best deal that was out there. Heck, last year I think Terrell Owens was dealt for some defensive lineman basically. So we got more for this trade than was gotten in that trade. He has controversy that comes with him, and I think a number of teams weren't as willing to pay as much for it.
Why oh why is this franchise constantly making STUPID ASS decisions? The only way this trade makes any sense is if the Vikes win the superbowl next year. God I am frustrated with this team!
"you can't tell me if you traded Moss 2 Ariz...that Ariz. would sell out everygame for the next 3 yrs...."
No, I can't. But you can't say that Moss wasn't a draw for the fans. They don't buy Vikings jerseys with "Moss" on the back for no reason. Those things are expensive.
I agree with you......2 a point....over the past few years...I'd rather have had a
Matt Birk, Mike Morris, Moe Williams, Nate Burleson, LeRoy Hoard, etc...
I'm not one that goes nuts for big names...but funny...each team can only produce the (5 - i think) that they want....ones that they want to mass produce...
so if you want a Cheap jersey your stuck with one of a handful.
It's a good idea to buy a jersey of an established player who has retired. Now people are stuck with the "Moss" jersey.
If I spent money on things like that, it would be a "Rashad," "Carter" "Puckett" or "Carew" jersey. Although Carew was traded, he has stong ties to the organization. I think he could slip by.

Here's the one from last week
Isn't the Eagles simply going to crush the Vikes?
I hope it's a good game.
I bet ESD could do a cool poster for the Philly game too. ESD?
Big game today! GO VIKES!!!
Bastards.....getting my hopes up and shooting me down!!!
I'm sooo sick of it.....
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
gotta try to bitch a head of time again......could be the ticket...
Â
Â
oh...and the ref's ....its all there fault...its fixed....i tell ya....its fixed....
Worked for you last time Kitch :)
Here's hoping we don't get our hearts ripped out again.
SKOL VIKINGS!!!!
Listening to Michael Irvin rip Moss makes me sick! This is the same WR that was caught in a hotel with Strippers/hookers and cocaine. Give me a break.
Vikings got screwed on the turnover. Claiborne was clearly in bounds when he touched the ball.
All in all not looking good for the Vikes =(
If Philly would have scored a TD at the end of the half...I would have won $100
I'm sooo glad I didn't win it!!!
2 words, Out Coached.

Tice doesn't hit, block, run or pass.
But when they lose, who gets it in the neck?

Is there talk of a Vikings stadium in this legislative session?
I know there is for the Gophers but not sure about the Twins or Vikes yet.
The Twins and the Vikings should have been playing in new yards by now.
The Twins and the Vikings should have been playing in new yards by now.
Yeah, they should have.
They just don't seem to want to pay for it.

Both are will to pay,
The state should value its professional sports teams.
They draw more than Star Wars conventions.

Why are all the sports writers saying we should trade Moss? I just don't get it.
"Fire services.... needed, police..... needed, "
So is a private/public partnership (done in city after city), this time for stadiums going to elminate fire departments and police?
"highway repair..... needed, schools..... needed"
Ditto.

Why are all the sports writers saying we should trade Moss?
Becuase he is detrimental to team morale.
Does the team have any morale?
They're not the Twins.

Unfortunately, it's not what the public wants to hear about so it doesn't get published as often.

Sweaty news conference going on now!
Fowler - I got some PR advice for you!!!
1) Fess Up- Say You are Sorry for having a idiot on your staff.
2) Buy a house- Tell us you are planning on staying a while.
3) Have Sid hang out with you for a day- He sucks up to anybody and will put a good spin on it for you.
 or Run Forest Run!!!!
Â
P.S. welcome to town.
He said he had a degree in business, and played professional football.
His degree is in social work & he tried out for a team but didn't make it.
Perhaps if he doesn't get approved for buying the Vikings, he will still put on his resume that he owned an NFL franchise?
HOLY SHIT!

Good riddance for bad rubbish.
The Vikings are losing a Marquee Player. People go to games to see Moss make spectacular catches. He's popular for his antics.
Do they go to watch linebackers? -- not in the same numbers, that's for sure. I know I'll be less inclined to take an interest.

I honestly feel its a great move....
cancer spreads....
What are the Vikings getting? -- a high draft pick and a linebacker?
Moss put butts in the seats.
