I was thinking that it had a hole in the top, with some (possibly) runic writings down it, like maybe it was something to look through, and possibly see into the future...
Hey, I'll take any chance at seeing the clues first!!!
I was guessing it was Sunday (or Saturday night at 11:00?) What time do the clues come out online this year? Oh, I can't wait!
I really hope this is a good clue year. While the last-minute scramble at Como was kind-of exciting and scary, last year at Phalen was just plain scary. I think if they're going to purposely put us off until the last clue, we need to fight back! As soon as we know what park it's in, all of us Cooler Heads should canvas the park from one end to the other, while the other hunters are sitting at home waiting for more clues. That way it's more likely that a Cooler Head will find it, and we can avoid the craziness of a last-minute scramble.
Regarding the St. Paul campus, I live one block from it. I am often there using the library or taking a walk. I do know that the campus police will talk to people who seem like they are "up to no good". I can't imagine that the campus is real public land in the searchable sense. Also, it butts up against the Fair grounds which are private land and cannot be searched (you will get kicked out).
There is a cute little park just north of the U on Cleveland in Falcoln Heights/Lauderdale/Roseville that might be an interesting place for the mediallion. I would love it if it was there. I prefer the west side parks. I don't know the east side very well.

What possessed you to put the Medallion in a real donut? Had you considered the chance of critters eating it and dragging the Medallion off?
I'm also curious to your reactions/thoughts on the last two hunts that ended with 12th clue rushes into the woods, was there any concern for the public safety, or were you counting on the 12th clue spur of the moment hunters to actually use common sense?
Thanks for a  new addition to a great tradition. Over the many years of the medallion hunt. We know  the writer is sly on his mission But do you use a spotter? Not to be blunt.
You've bcome somewhat notorious oh servant of Boreas For knowing if we hunters are getting colder or hotter For some guessing is laborious but there are so many more of us Who are just dying to know if you keep watch with a spotter?
This coming Saturday night at Patrick McGovern's. I think officially it starts at 7pm, but since the first screening of the treasure hunt documentary is that day at 12:30 (and again at 3:00), I'm thinking it's going to be a sort of all day event.
Tickets $8 - adults $5.50 - seniors, children under 12
There will be no advance ticket sales. Tickets for the 12:30pm show will go on sale at 12noon. Once the first show starts, the second show's tickets will go on sale (at approximately 12:45pm).
The Bell Museum Auditorium is located at 17th and University Ave. S.E. on the University of MN East Bank campus in the Bell Museum of Natural History.

Would you agree that removing common sense from the medallion hunt it is a dangerous precedent to set? I ask this because in years past medallion hunters were able to use common sense to deduct that the medallion wasn't somewhere because anyone with any common sense wouldn't hide it there (i.e. middle of a lake, on a cliff, up a tree). Some would argue that last years medallion location was in a place that anyone with common sense would not put it, so this year we may have a larger amount of people searching in other dangerous locations.
Ok I need to proof read this later as it's probably just a run on sentence, but thats my biggest question/statement to the cluewriter.
So I just submitted a number of questions. It says that you can submit questions starting tomorrow through Friday. I assume they'll see the e-mails but not sure if they'll respond to them.

I wish I could find an actual painting of his. I try to paint, but I'm not that good.
I always dream of being picked up by lobsters and being dipped in butter...
Makes sense, if the cluewriters are newer..
will be very interesting to see what questions they'll answer.
Hi all,
This is my first time checking in here this year!
When do the clues come out?
Anyone have ideas about how they will hide it with so little snow? I hope they're not as dumb as they were last year, hiding it in a donut!

Dear clue writer--
Can you recommend a flashlight to use while hunting?Â

send it in!!!!
Thanks folks about the U campus. While I think the chances it could be there are nil, I was just wondering out of curiosity.
See you all at the pre-dig gig!
Say, when and where is the pre-dig gig? There is no mention of it on the main page here.
Ok, I sent it in.

The documentary! One guy filmed me two winters ago when I was digging at Battle Creek. When and where is the viewing?
Did you know that Trent had to explain to the Pioneer Press what a spotter was.

From what we understand, parking is free on Sundays - though we have not been able to independently verify this.
It's our term, not their's, so I'm not too surprised.

hmmm...new question in the works?
They knew what a Spotter was/is. They've lurked fur years. They were just playing dumb.
