OT
I pretty much echo what Tim said. I'd take the Centennial Lakes job you interviewed for. Like Terry said, you were excited when you applied so it must have been something you wanted. I wouldn't be surprised if they come back and agree to the extra $2. If not, as mentioned before, hang it out there as something you would earn in 60-90 days. But in the end, it's your call. And benefit packages do make a job more or less desirable.
CM - What I've always told my kids is try to find work that you love to do and pays enough to make a decent living
Thanks TV - That's exactly how I'm going to approach this. I need to weigh the options on both hands. Money vs Happiness
I think you guys opened up my eyes on the balancing I need to do. I need to set an hourly wage for the PM job and stick to it or stay where I am. Thank you very much. Now to come up with that wage. errrrgh!
<edit> do you *know* for a fact that the OM job with the new company would require 70+ hours/week?
No I don't. That's the gamble I would have to take. And now with the benefits thing tossed in (which I have no idea what the new company has) makes it all the more confusing. The money would definitely be much better. But if it turned out that I was making $5.00/hr when figuring in all the extra hours, it definitely wouldn't be worth it. Thanks MOM for the input.
OT - I'm surprised you remembered where I applied. You rock! You don't miss a thing. You're both right that I was excited to get the interview but I think I might have put it on a pedestal that couldn't support it. I tend to look at all the hurtles ahead of me and focus on them too much I guess. But I do need to think about them nonetheless. One of them being a huge undertaking with the union on changing all the part time employees to full time status by years end. Or at least 80/20. That's going to be a huge costly problem that the rest of us addressed 3 years ago. Anyway, thanks again everyone you've all been a big help. I let cha know how it turns out.
I'm slogged to current status!!!!! This is getting crazier and crazier every night. I'm looking forward to the hunt when mostly one thread will be used.
Alot of good advice for you there CM just go with your gut feeling and you cant go wrong.
I was talking this sign job over with dawg and she has a very good point, the hours are 9 to 6 with about an hour of drive time I would be to tired to look for another job after that let alone work on my Illustrations so I think I am going to pass on that one and hope for the teaching job at Brown. The good thing about the Brown college job is I can work on my illustrations at work and get my Bachelors degree for cheep.
I totally forgot-I am new at this-but Whitney asked me to post this a couple of days ago!  ... she is selling girl scout cookies for the first time. So if anyone is dying for any cookies, I will bring the sheet with on Saturday night. Dont ask me what kinds or when they come-I am a mom, I didnt say I was a good mom! ;)
been turning people down at work left and right....
but if its me2's girls....thats another story.....talk to me on sat. nite and I'll get some....ask me after i've been drinkin' and I might not be able to find enough freezer space for a case of them.
My jaw dropped as I totally wrote that job off because of a bad interview and my boss applying for it.
Told you so! Your better than you think!
So here's my questions to you guys: Should I even consider the Operations Manager position at the other company with the positive being much more money but the negatives being the possibility of being over worked and leaving my current company which is larger? Or how to renegotiate the $2/hr wage increase back into the PM position that I choked on? Or stay put ...
All I can say is do what you think is right and good for youself. Don't worry what others may think. Who says that if you don't take the job, that your boss will? Maybe they didn't like your boss and you'll be stuck where you are if you stay. I would let them know how you feel about your free time and be realistic. Your supposed to interveiw them just as they interveiw you. It's your interveiw also.
That's atleast the 2nd time the Doug Brien one has been up there, I know ebay already took it down once because of a policy against selling human body parts, haha. The bidding was up to $99,999,999.
so i'm sitting here checking out web site logs today, and doing lookups on some of the more commonly occurring ip addresses. coolercrew.com has had visitors from mndot, fairview, and as far away as toronto and the uk. woo hoo.
well i'm new and i don't know many folks yet. but...my best friend in the whole world is in iraq and this article was in the MN daily today so i thought i would share. his girlfriend, a good friend of mine, wrote it and i think it's good to spread these kind of words and let people just stew in it a little. :)

I really like the 90 day option if they don't go for the increase right away. It kinda puts something in their hands too.
Good idea ESD. I guess I didn't realize that it was a full time job. Picking up your Bachelors at the same time as the Brown job would be awesome.
