2005 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt

Discuss the 2005 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt here.

OT- just a few years back there was only the first, small parking lot, and the fire-pit/shelter was a bit run- down, and the bathrooms were hardly ever open & no porta-potties. For decades, the place was only frequented by partying teens. It had a notorious nickname & reputation. Even the 3rd Pct. in Mpls new about this place. The mpls cops would go there to bust keggers.
Then, starting with the Marina changing ownership things began to change. The tunnel of terror became re-vamped, and the park district got a grant to extend the drive, add parking, pave the trails & build the boardwalk & piers/overlooks. They were also given funding to employ the people who maintain it, and patrol it.

Thanks for the input, KT.  And once again I guess I just don't get it.  Nature?

Because- I guess it was a destitute nothingland, hardly worth the title of being a "park"
Now it's a "Regional Nature Preserve"

I think if someone finds the medallion in Crosby, that they should throw a party with a keg, to commemorate the history of the park. Anybody else with me there?

Just got back from Crosby.  The park fits the clues really well, but is just a little too dark and secluded for my tastes.

Is anyone headed down to the Great Waters tonight before clue time?  I just love that Winter Carnival ale!  THe only way they could make it better is by using more cowbell.  I gotta have that cowbell!!

had no idea that you could put a tank field right next to a river. doesn't that seem odd?

anyway, i thought that this might be useful for future clues.

Fellas, I'm telling you, you're gonna want that cowbell!

I apologize ahead of time if this has already been discussed, but perhaps the fit for a king could just mean that the medallion is hidden in a Burger King bag?  I saw that theory somewhere and I can't remember if it was in here.  If that is a repeat of someone else's noodle, I am sorry.

The only issue we have to worry about... If the clue means field as in prairies or grasslands.......

Then the street names mean nothing.
