Now, that version, has only one glove - go figure. I don't recall Crosby being big on CC....any of you that have been down there know? Are the trails suitable?
Chorus: There's a rose in a fisted glove And the eagle flies with the dove And if you can't be with the one you love... Love the one you're with
Don't sit frightened, don't sit mad Don't sit cryin' 'bout the good times you had There's a girl sittin' right next to you And she's waiting for something to do
Chorus: There's a rose in a fisted glove And the eagle flies with the dove And if you can't be with the one you love... Love the one you're with
Turn your heartaches into joy She's a girl, you're a boy, Get it all together, make it nice I won't give you no more advice
Chorus: There's a rose in a fisted glove And the eagle flies with the dove And if you can't be with the one you love... Love the one you're with
Thank you! I've been "hearing" it in my head....but couldn't quite get it tuned in.
I really didn't want it to be Crosby. I don't like Crosby. Had my purse stolen there some years ago (out of the car - stupid)....I think that pretty much seals it though.
4 clues in this one to point us to Crosby: Youngman Ave, :eagle flies with the dove", gnash, XC skiing. Either an evil and elaborate plan to decieve us or they want us to really know this is Crosby.
"where the eagle flies with the dove", appears in the Steven Stills song "Love the One You're with". Steven Stills was part of the music group CROSBY Stills Nash Young, or CSNY. This song was recorded after he left the group, however.
If they did hide it in a box of condems it would just make things more interesting...
someone posted a clue on the PP board - but I don't buy it - here it is - just incase
Young man or woman
while you still can
Gnash your teeth
and put on the glove
on cross country skis
take the trail through the trees
where the eagle flies with the dove
Interesting that it's not "doves"

Do they mean a condom? That's not very "family friendly" now, is it?
Are there cross-country ski trails at Crosby? I haven't been able to get down there yet. Eagles would certainly fly along the Mississippi River.

Youngman street (blvd or ave) runs parallel to Shepard north of Crosby.

Youngman Ave runs parallel to Shepard Rd for a short distance (almost like a frontage road), between Rankin and Davern.
I, too, am heading for the sheets.Â
Have fun at Crosby, Stills, Gnash and Young park tomorrow morning. Sure wish I could be there.Â
I'm so glad we're not going to Como!

It appears from my mapping software that the nature center is actually sandwiched between youngman and the Crosby Farm Road.
gNash and Young also mentioned in the clue

Night TV SCD's! We'll be seeing you all 2morrow :)
Me too. I doubt if I'll be hunting this year. Too big and I had trouble getting my garbage out today the path was so slippery.
