Submitted by Casey Trauer on

It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

No tennis dome at Conway, but tennis courts. Yeah, I think it's at Conway, all the clues fit SO well!

Jackie Martin & Others--The airport might be a possiblity cause there are a lot of red lights...like the twirling flashing lights, that are in the air...

Jackie Martin

2 pattis I'm with you-- it HAS to be there! I'm waiting for the clue tonight too. Too many people to go and look now!

jackie what about the trees in a line that give u a name like line of wood linwood

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 7:57 PM Permalink
Jackie Martin

I understand the red lights at the airport, but if that's all it has, it can't be there!

Dingdong Didillydias

A LINE OF TREES = A WOOD ROW = Woodrow Wilson, one of the streets that borders Conway is Wilson! Orient = the Far East, Conway is on

the far east side of St. Paul! Any more questions?

digby...it could be gloria dei church or the old brick water tower...which does have a translucent peak...

Hey, is Conway a big park?

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 7:59 PM Permalink
tim luchsinger

you can see down town from there plus the water tower up on the hill ...maybe battle creek park or mounds park...maybe the red light is the first state light down

town?

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 7:59 PM Permalink
Jackie Martin

Okay, the trees in a line lead me to this: Line of trees= Wood row, Woodrow Wilson= Wilson Ave. Wilson Ave. is on the south side of Conway.

Dingdong Didillydias

A Translucent Peak....there are two glass pyramids on top of Sunray shopping center...they light up at night and you can clearly see them from

Conway...

Oops Mush, as you can tell I have never found that beautiful piece of plastic. To anyone who may still think it's at Highland, I was there this afternoon, not much

going on. Nothing red in the sky either. Counting down to 11:30.

just so you all know, the # to call to see if the medallion has been found is 651-228-5464. So far, no one's found it. Phew!

No Conway is not very big, BUT pretty wide open!

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 8:00 PM Permalink
Dingdong Didillydias

Water on high = There is a water tower to the north of Conway on a hill

A large red object in the sky = behind the water tower you can clearly see the large 3M on their headquarters building.

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 8:00 PM Permalink
mikie

The red object has nothing to do with an airport. Drop that idea. The red 3M sign is very visible, right next to the water tower, at Conway

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 8:01 PM Permalink

is the red light at conway , must be the 3m logo am i correct

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 8:01 PM Permalink

Where is triangle park? I've never heard of it

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 8:01 PM Permalink

I'm telling you, ALL the clues point to Conway, I'm thinking they hid it just someplace SO obscure that it will take one of the last clues to figure it out! But I'm

convinced it's there!

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 8:02 PM Permalink
Dingdong Didillydias

Conway is larger than the AVERAGE park...it is about 24 square acres...no where near as large as Como...but it is by no means a small park.

dingdong--you're very helpful, thanks a bunch!

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 8:03 PM Permalink
Russ Payne

On the far side away from the ballfields, near the sliding hill, there is a perfect view of the 3M sign, 3M watertower, and peaks on Sunray

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 8:03 PM Permalink
Grant Michaels

Okay it is Conway,

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 8:04 PM Permalink

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 8:04 PM Permalink
I C Stars

hey dingdong -- we went through all that last night. Do you have any insights to where in Conway it may be?

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 8:05 PM Permalink
Dingdong Didillydias

Read clue six and think of these words and phrases...a man of fame...game...home.

Home = home plate Game = Baseball Famous Man = Babe Ruth

Ruth street borders Conway on the west side of the park.

It is not on home plate of any of the fields though they have been dug up quite a bit.

Clue 8: Round and white and stretched quite tight...it is obvious to me that the medallion is hidden inside a hollowed out softball...what do you think?

Mon, 02/01/1999 - 8:05 PM Permalink
Russ Payne

3M stands for Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Co.
