See #4 above.

Past 2 & 3 there's four, but no four (if I remember correctly) - just a post.

Five could be the "magical tree" (7+/-2).  Does the post for five have a five on it?

What word are you defining?

Tue, 02/01/2005 - 2:08 PM Permalink

"remains of a tree"

A post on that path in Crosby could be "all that remains of a tree."  It was once a tree, but isn't any longer.  Only the post remains of what was once the tree.

clue 7 is pretty specific on what the Med looks like: and there is NO definition for "forsaked" in any online dictionary. Naked:

  1. Having no covering, especially the usual one: a naked sword.

  2. Devoid of vegetation, trees, or foliage: the naked ground; naked tree limbs.

  3. Being without addition, concealment, disguise, or embellishment: the naked facts; naked ambition.

  4. Devoid of a specified quality, characteristic, or element: a look that was naked of all pretense.

  5. Exposed to harm; vulnerable: “naked to mine enemies

Talk about the power of suggestion.  The red alert air quality warning is making it hard for me to breath!  Not dangerously hard, but I feel like I have to think about it more.

You go past 2 & 3 and come to "all that remains of a tree" - the post where #4 should be.

Or the next post, where #5 should be, because the magical number is 7+/-2, and that would give you your "magical tree."

Basically, ittiz my noodle that "all that remains of a tree" is a post, not an actual tree stump, dead tree, etc.

I think ittiz gonna be between 4 ("all that remains of a tree") and 5 ("our magical tree") on the right side (SE, side away from Upper Lake) of the path.

I still think that the naked could be something else in addition to the med.

example: a post would not only be what's left of a tree but it would also be naked (without bark) and perhaps naked of its sign.

or it could be in something else that we would consider naked like a can that's missing it's label

Rests has alot of meaning: "the puck rests naked"; Rests is in pool games, The part that is left over after something has been removed; remainder, rests are in music, too.
Music.

  1. An interval of silence corresponding to one of the possible time values within a measure.
  2. The mark or symbol indicating such a pause and its length.

  3. To be located or be in a specified place:

  4. The puck rests (see c above) naked, so it is specifically in this condition, but what would "naked" be, everyone thinkd it just meands out in the open, so whey are people digging around trees

so if clue #7 specifically says "lonely and forsaked, the puck rests naked on the snow and ice-covered ground" then i wouldn't think Magic Tree is a real live tree or stump and people are going crazy over the trees, but i may be proved wrong anytime soon!!

It has to be just a general reference point. remember the last como hunt?? 'Standing here you can see so clear, a view of our Capitol dome', you could see squat from where it was hidden... I am thinking that they are just helping us to narrow down a certain sector of the park...

There's no way to tell what tree the posts are made of, at least not looking at them.

But the "magical number" is 7 +/-2.

If you go past 2 & 3 toward "all that remains of a tree" you're approaching 4.  Then comes 5 which, I believe, is also post only and would/could be "our magical tree."

Just got back from Crosby.  OT, your son-in-law is the tallest person I've ever met and boy, can he dig.  He should be on digging duty tonight instead of babysitting.  I told him I'd put in a good word for him...

Green: first HELLO!!!    and then, where is that magical tree at?

Saw Ares & Treasure Chest.  They are really working hard for the Zephmeister!!!  Although parking was a nightmare, it's not quite a zoo out there yet.

HAY, BUTT!!!

Zephy, I think we're gonna be pacing off from #5 - the "magical tree."  I think The Med's gonna be between 4 & 5 on the right side o'the path, the side away from (below) Upper Lake.

See that white spot on either side o'the path?  Just around the corner, where the lake has a little pokey-outy place?  That's open area, no trees, and is (as close as I can tell) between 4 & 5.

I think it'll be in there.
