The cooler crew is an online community that is made up of folks with a commonality
that involves gathering in parks in the dead of the winter and because we have this
obsession in common, we find other parts of us that have commonality too. - TerryV
Who goes to a picnic in February?
The Re-Hash Bash is always open to all Diggers, Hunters, Clue-Writers and Lurkers. Discuss the Medallion Hunt, and have a good time with those of like obsession. It's a great time! The Re-Hash Bash is a family affair. Spouses and kids (even toddlers) are more than welcome! Come early, stay late and eat, then eat some more. It's a potluck deal. It really is a fun time. It helps bring closure to the hunt for the year.
Another fantastic get together!

The CoolerHeads are a group of people who participate in the
Pioneer Press Medallion Hunt during Winter Carnival .
The Bash began in 1998 at Cherokee Park. It is always on the Sunday after the Medallion is found, and is held at the location where it was found. The link above is where all the clues were analyzed (over-analyzed !), accepted, rejected, discussed.
What you need to bring.....
- Bring a dish to share: dessert, salad, hot dish, whatever you like.
- Bring your own drinks.
- Bring your own plates, cups and utensils.
- There will be a fire. logs are needed !
- Check the forecast, but come prepared for "changing" weather.
- There have been gas stoves and charcoal grills in the past.
WILL WE SEE YOU THERE??
Oh! That taco dip stuff with the cream cheese& salsa????
YUUUUMMMMMYYYYY?
Damn. this child needs to get her head outta the food channel.
MAGICAL Brownies?
Dudes & dudesses- I need to complete my vaccumming. TTFN
elissa- just make as many as you want, there is always too much food overall and if a few people don't get pickle roll ups its no big deal (as long as I am not one of them).
Check out this link!!!

"Words mean more than we mean to express when we use them.
So a whole book ought to mean a great deal more than the writer means.
Lewis Carroll- The Hunting Of The Snark.
KT - What a great quote!
I believe we'll be bringing something dessert type. Probably make some almond bark and *maybe* this great dessert pizza....have to see what time allows for.
Mom - you mean THE dessert pizza?!?!?!Â
That'd be the one ;)
Fabulous!!!! Parts are crossed that it all works out!
Inks had talked about almond bark too. Guess we'll think of something else.
I thought it would be fitting ;) By all means, if Inks wants to do it too, go for it! I don't know how much I'll be making......I've never done this before! My only other real experience with it is buying a little hunk now and again at the Fanny Farmer store.

Re: pickle roll ups - if Tim gets some and I don't, there is going to be a riot ;)
I'm deciding. I could bring something boring and store bought. I could bring taco salad platter (if MM doesn't) or taco roll ups. Last year I brought this really sweet fruit salad thing that THX loved but it made wayyy toooo much.
Oh, and cream puffs sound nummy
I'll bring the taco salad... taco rollups sound really yummy leela :)
ummm.....what's a pickle wrap.......
(no jokes please.....i just know this is coming)
lol kitch they're yummy!!
It's ham and cream cheese wrapped around a pickle. I call em pickle dogs.
Terry V: Exactly which 'parts' were crossed?
re: dessert pizza- If it's round, and full of sugary goodness, PPPPRRRrrrrrrrrr.
re: what are pickle roll ups- Are you some sort of heathen recluse????
...Or have you never been to a baby shower in the new milleniummmmm...ummm...mmmmmmmmmmmmmm-pickle roll-ups.
Just bring your shovel- we'll feed you.
Kitch is a dude.... we dont go to baby showers.
I just found out, myself what those things are tonight.... they sound good.... i may help make them, and take half credit ;) Â seeing as how everything Ive thought about contributing, seems to have been taken/chosen by someone already.
Â
Well unless there is a miracle I won't be going to the RHB :( the starter on my mom's truck went out tonight and I have no other vehicle. Well I do.. but it has no power steering, AND the tabs are expired... and I don't get paid until the 15th. So unless they get another starter for the truck, or I somehow get $100 for the tabs.. I won't be there. Sorry guys!
Can we come and pick you up?
Mmmmm, sweet fruit salad.
I'm first in line for the Pickle Roll-ups. I'm green, I'm the oldest, I'm the greediest, and I just dibbsed first. So there!
I'm glad we're having Contamination Free Dove Wings, Deviled Eags, that chicken slop I'm gonna make up, Sloppy Joe Medallions, and PICKLE ROLL-UPS!!! I'm not a sweet eater like the rest o'you. I even like Brussel Sprouts! :D
So bring your GPS's.
geocache coingo bongo is back in place.....half of you already looked in the spot it was.
I'll probably have my kid with me, but at 16 and towering over me, I hardly consider him a "kiddie" anymore... :-) He still may have some fun looking for it though.
I brought a printout of all the caches hidden in Crosby, including Kitch's Coingo Boingo. I'll grab a couple of Mercury dimes to put in it.
Kitch's Coingo Boingo ---not my geocache...its towlebooth's (i think)
Oh! Vulturius Rex is planning on coming! He's bringing some mac & jeez stuff, I think with 'shrooms, called "Red, White & Green Mac-Sumpin'"! YUMMY!!!
well I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they can at least find a used starter and get it in before Sunday... KT it would be going out of your way to come up here and get Mark and I... I couldn't do that...
FYI: Ian told me there's gonna be a kiddie cache at the RHB.
So bring your GPS's.
i think i need an info session on the geocache phenom!
There will be several people there that can help you out.
I'll probably need a refresher course. I haven't been out since early last summer.
good stuff!
i own no gps thingy ma bobber as of now...but we'll see what the future brings?!
there is a bunch of people that can find geocaches without a gps....
you just need to find easier ones to do and have an satillite photo to get you "on the right spot"....would be more like a medallion hunt then ...as you would be in a very rough area.......
its tough if they are in the woods...but you could do the ones just off a trail this way.....
http://www.geocaching.comfor info.
Â
Also.... some public libraries have gps available for use......not sure the status of that in st. paul or mpls.
JOE dinking around in da woods
[Edited by on Feb 4, 2005 at 08:03am.]
geez...grabbing the nice joes!!!!
wel, I thought I was the only one here since so many were up late last night-and others back to work- people were missing them!
Â
Hey it's pretty quiet in here
So I don't see why there should be no reason
That you can't jump up and
Grab a JOE
The more I think about this.....
I think this year is just W.C. Karma....I honestly think a coolerhead is going to find it next year!!!
How could we find the medallion without the entiregang here?!!?
Next year...with the entire gang....we will find it!!!!
ha...i almost stole that....and didn't know it....
I think it's true Kitch....
Last year was the year of the Raccoon.
This year was the year of Zeph.
Next year is the year of the Cooler Heads and the start to a great future of findings.
