well I get off work around 6pm, so I figure I'll get a bite to eat 1st and then get out there, but I'd hate to miss all the fun if 9:30 is when everybody shows. All the same, I'm sure I'll be out there until then at least. Course mucluck could just walk over to the park anytime today and take it...

by all means though, the more the merrier, would be nice to find that thing tonight and get it over with.

I checked the north end of the park before freezing my A$$ off. 

Water tower, 6 pine trees an large number of tables and grills for the size of the park.  Ice rink right in the middle, basketball courts on the South side. 

Saw a few others poking around the other side of the park.

Not a lot of hiding spots. 

I'm heading out there now - Any suggestions Clucky?

 

dang you guys will have that whole park picked over before I get there tonight... except for the one spot it's at ;)

Like I said I did a pretty good job on the North Side (water tower side)  but did not go over the South side..

And dress warm it's frickin freezing out!

I'll have my fleece head covering on tonight (like the unknowns at the predig). Maybe even zip up the coat.. There are two other potential parks I may look at if northwoods doesn't pan out.

nah kitch is just sore about the south st paul hunt last year.

Damn it!  I was planning on heading out there but got tied up in these threads instead.  I might still hook up with you guys later but I refuse to look with Kitch.  That guy couldn't find his own shadow on a sunny summer afternoon.

I'll still be out and running around in North St. Paul this evening. Northwoods first, Tower second, and the Ecology center area 3rd. I have my reasons on the later 2.

Well that's two of us that think Northwoods is not it.

KC what are your thoughts on your last two parks?

K - my thoughts on clue 2 - an Icee- frozen and blue rain does not fall on it - am I way off here?  How that fits any park I haven't a clue !!!!

Rain does not fall in this clue number two, More typical then not, the substance is frozen blue.
It has to start from somewhere before it is brought to you.
But if youre ice-skating, you still dont have a clue

The last line makes me think no ice rink, or am I reading that wrong?

a pond or a lake.. water treatment of some sort. The urban ecology center is just west of Mcknight, and just north of the "Polar Plaza" strip mall.

Tower Park also has a water tower, but no reference to polar stuff..

actually I was thinking north of there Kitch. There's two parts of that area, one south of 36, and one north of 36. It's not part of the gateway trail, but is connected to it on the southern part (which right now I'm not as interested with). The northern part is north of the strip mall with the gas station, that mall is called "Polar Plaza".

The clues havn't said "Park" yet, so could just be on public land, 2nd clue says "Somewhere in the public domain"

Now it's gonna be hard to have a park to meet at, since northwoods and polar don't seem to be terribly inviting (and I didn't even get to northwoods..). I'm going to start with Tower park because it's tiny, and could be thoroughly searched in 15 minutes. From there I think I'll hit the north part of the ecology center. Park in the strip mall, it'd probably be the easiest. I'm guessin if people are meeting around 9:30, that's where I'll be then.

The ecology area isn't a "park". And I thought everybody liked my invisible avatar?

the strip mall is on the corner of 11th and Mcknight.  The "ecology area" is a pond on 11th across from target.

Damn you guys... this one is out of my league.

I'll be there too.  I'll leave you guys a post-it note ifwhen I find it...   :)

Sounds okay, least it's a meeting place anyway. I printed off a map of North St. Paul and highlighted every scrap of park/public area I know of, anyone meeting tonight want a copy?
