however, Ares and TC did try to involve Cooler Crew as much as possible-some events were last minute timing and they did it all themselves. Other times the word was spread via cellphone or internet about where to be and when. I saw great pictures of Kitch and Red Bear with Zeph at the state capitol. Just because someone in the Cooler didnt show up doesnt mean that they should give up. They trudged on to make sure that Zeph was represented everywhere for all of us and him!

 I can't say for sure that everyone was okay with that

I for one am thrilled they took it on-I woulda felt guilty that I wasnt doing more than. For the most part this year we all took on a job in the Cooler. Making sure Zeph got exactly to where he needed to be at specific times through the hunt was what Ares and TC commited to 100%! Vulcans said 'be here' and they went there- same with the King. I know I couldnt have lived up to their expectations and been where I needed to be at all times. Not only that but people like the Mayor changed schedules on them and they were stood up by people who said they would be there-including me-sorry TC and Ares.

G: I totally hear what you're saying about illustrator. i just wanted to warn everyone to not trade one crappy resolution banner or logo for another! if a design is like that is low res, someone with the background to make it more usable should possibly rework it. if everyone could do what us graphics people do, we'd be out of a job. just like i wouldn't presume to know how to be a firefigher, teacher or something else! just wanted to warn people to not get too attached to low res images!

that resolution thing sounds like its for iron ons, websites or something? Something that would be for print-like a button or banner. The embroidery woman seamed to have no troubles with the logo. I think the embroidery work came out wonderfully

me2, yeah i think for embroidery they have to rework it to their format no matter what. :) so i think that's probably a moot point. but for print, banners, ads, flyers, brochures, cards, etc.. resolution would matter more. i have no problem with the current logo, and i wish i had nabbed one of them scarves!

I hear another controversy coming, so before I go away, I'm wondering if anyone out there can create a PERSONAL LOGO for me.  I'd like it to be me (overweight middle-aged woman) with dog (tan&white).  I'd like there to be a flashing tiara & boa for my dog (so people will know she's a female).  I'd like to be wearing a water cooler over my head and my blue CC scarf around my neck.  I'd also like a shovel & rake crossed over my chest.   And a sign on my back that says "I'm getting the puck out of here"...

TC, I wasn't talking about the Zephy thing when I said I was hurt. I was not hurt at all by that, in fact if you read what I wrote, I said it was a wonderful thing. I was using that as an example of how things are going to get out of hand when someone or a group of people do something for "the group" even with the best intentions. Someone is bound to feel like they're being stepped on, used, exploited, ignored, etc. and it's the nature of the group being so large.

I WAS hurt by the accusatory tone you took with Tim about the rehash and the cliquey business. Like him, I also don't know what you're referring to.

Maybe if you read my post one more time, you wouldn't be jumping to such huge conclusions. And I do have a lot of nerve, but not to say what you thought I said. Take it easy...geez.

Oriongirl...gotcha! Thanks! :) Though a lot of designers are out of jobs because of the popularity of the job and the lack of positions...hmmm.....

--and just for the sake of pleasing the amateurs vs. the "pros" - (Big G - deal with the quotation marks) It's doable to convert a logo that we collectively would be chosen - so don't feel like what Orion Girl is saying is leaving anybody out from making a design.

As far as the cliquey thing goes, TC, I am hurt by what you said to Tim. The Zephy deal could've easily been taken as a cliquey thing. You and Jason represented the whole group at several of the events and in the paper and I can't say for sure that everyone was okay with that.

goddamn right we represented the entire cooler crew at everything. wanna know why? not one other person stepped up to the plate to do it. not one. esd put together the artwork for the face. otis attached it to the cardboard cutout, but when it came time to get him anywhere, no one else stepped up, and said "hey, can i help you with that?" so anyone who has the balls to look at me and my wife and tell us that "i can't say for sure that everyone was ok with that" had best be willing to stand up and take over some of the responsibility for getting him everywhere he went. otherwise they can sit down and shut the fuck up, because their opinion on the subject doesn't matter to me one goddamn bit.

I don't know what could've been done differently, and the whole Zephy thing was a wonderful idea, but there seemed to be a lot of fighting for "credit" that turned out okay in the end, but just goes to show what we're in for in the long run.

When Shaggy showed up here, purposely to start crap, and piss me off, so i'd leave, I really was going to do just that... but alot of people put me in my place, and wouldnt have it, you were one of those people..... so now im turning around and doing the same thing right back....

Randy- right click on the picture you just posted and "copy shortcut". Then edit your post. Click the picture frame looking thing thats under the font type box and a dialog box will pop up. Then paste the url you copied into the "image url"  box and click ok to close the dialog box. Then click on post message and the pic will show up.
