Hey, given the number, Buddy Ryan Joe is pretty good, I think.

 

For the record, I want no credit whatsoever for the Buddy Ryan Joe - It's a part of all of us, I created and developed the Buddy Ryan Joe - but it was with love in my heart for the Cooler Crew.  But you better not criticize me about how I excecuted the buddy ryan joe!  NOOO!!  I will maul you.

Personally, the Cooler Crew has been a special part of my life.  Not of my hunting, but of my life.  I've made a number of friends, I've shared a number of things with my fellow Crew members.  When I've talked about the Crew to people like my family, one of the things I talk about is how diverse a bunch of people we have.  We have men and women, boys and girls spanning a wide age range.  People who grew up in different parts of the country, live in different parts of the state, work in different professions.  Single, married, divorced, with kids, without kids.  Conservative, moderate, liberal.  What has united us is our passion and love of the treasure hunt.  Of course we're going to have a difference of opinion on things, especially as our group grows.  To me, we're having an identity crisis.  How do we want to be seen, how do we want to be known?  Personally I can't answer that.  And right now, I don't think as a group we're ready to address it either. 

I'm not going to take sides in all this.  I think that different people have valid points while also thinks that could have been done differently.  I think that the conflict and issues people are having does need to be addressed, because otherwise things will just fester until they blow up in a much worse fashion than what we've seen.  I don't know that this is the place for it.  I think that things need to take place behind the scenes, in private, between the parties involved.  Otherwise it will all lead into a fracture of the Cooler Crew.  I don't want to be made to pick sides.  What I want is the Cooler Crew to go on in the spirit that it was created.  If people have issues with each other, please talk about it in egram, IM, face to face.  If you have problems with having a discussion, I would be willing to be a mediator if it comes to that.  I think we're adults though too that we can be respectfully agree to respectfully disagree on things at times.  That if we have an objection or a point to discuss, that we can say things in an appropriate manner and be received appropriately.  We're all emotional off this hunt.  Things have been said and/or done which have gotten people to this point.  Take a step back people.  Don't look at other people and what they've done to contribute to the problem.  Look at yourself and what you can contribute to the solution.  I think we all want peace and happiness.  Let's just work together towards it.

I would highly suggest we move forward with this voting on this....

people have put time and effort for the crew with there artworks (etc.)

 

Agreed.....I guess me being the one trying to organize this a bit....first question.  Please tell me when you (cooler crew) feel we should have the logo vote? This should be a group decision.......

 

my vote is the sooner the better.  I feel the people who have left will not be returning until right before the hunt.  I also like to be prepared so it would be nice to get started on the stitching....if a new one is chosen.

you guys... don't you think maybe we should wait to do the whole vote thing.. until after things get hashed out?? we have A WHOLE YEAR to do the logo/crest thing...

I am still working on an email list.  I really do want to get as many people here as possible as I believe everyone agrees on that.  If you need at least a month or so to do mass production of shirts, hats, etc.  Do we think the masses will have returned by then?  If we wait to vote till the hunt are we ok not having any new Cooler Wear 2006 hunt.  That way we can vote during the hunt then be prepared for the 2007 hunt? 

People start drifting back in November and December. By mid January, most are back.

Some participate in that hunt - but certainly not all of the Crew is around for that.

not normally. only time i've seen it really big was after merriam, when somewhere around 100 people participated in it.

Here is one more reason I had for doing it early....If we want to do more for next year...be it pirate suits, the parade, non-profit, park clean ups....whatever.  I think the logo is the place we need to start.  The rest of the talk has kind of been pushed back to get this done first......will there still be tiime to discuss and implement any of this if as a group it is decided to do so.....Just throwing ideas out there....

I am never here in December - I am way too busy with other things. If it goes beyond December it will be too late to get stuff ordered. Since everyone has to pay for their own things, it may take a while to get this all organized. I think if you can get a good email list and let everyone know about the vote, I don't see why it can't happen in March as planned.
