It has to do with the next step.  It has to do with all the ideas that have been floating around here the last week.  From what I have taken people want to put a face on stuff.  banners possibly sponsors.  When doing those types of things we would need a logo for that.  Your wife had a great idea of getting a sponsor and put both our logo and theirs on bags to pick up the trash in the parks.....Not saying that any of this would happen but if that is the direction we all decide to go....

There's nothing wrong with having fun stuff guys... but what are we gonna do with all the crap? If we keep going the way we're going there won't BE a cooler crew.. it's all gonna fall apart, I can see this happeneing.. AND I DON'T LIKE IT!

i agree - people can be rounded up - emailed or called - everyone knows someone etc. we should be able to do it soone rather than later  - maybe not in march but for sure i would say early fall before people spend all their coin on xmas etc.

How about an answer and a picked log around june 1? then people could suggest various items to get embroidered etc. then people could investigate good deals on a lot of t-s or sweat shirts or hats etrc and still have time to produce em!

So...dates...I'm stuck. It's gonna be hard to include everyone unless it's like a week or so before the hunt, which is too late to get stuff done. December is too hard, summer is too busy, fall maybe? Not sure. Maybe if we try to compile an email list during the summer and do the vote in the fall?

the goal, payme, was not to get outlogo on the bags. it was to get their logo on them. its free advertising on the part of the sponsoring garbage hauler.

G.. hun.. the "crap" isn't just gonna go away until it's hatched out.. in an adult manor.. it HAS to get hashed out.. or there isn't gonna be a crew.. and then what would all of the hard work on the logos be fore? Absolutely nothing!

I'm still thinking March - people will be here for the Mock hunt and the rest can be contacted via email. As the year goes on fewer and fewer people are here.

sweeping the crap under the rug and pretending its not there doesn't make it go away. you've got this big pile of festering poop under the rug, and quite frankly its rather ugly (and smelly, but given what we've got in the dog run outside the stench goes away after a while). if there's gonna be any sense of cohesiveness to the group, the crap needs to be dealt with.

The crew as a whole has had a lot of ideas like that.  sorry I was not 100% accurate on TC's idea.  The point of my post is that if there are other things that the group wants to do the first stop is the logo or crest or whatever.  I am not the decision maker.  I offered to help organize some of the ideas.  So there is the stuff to talk about,  I will make sure I keep up to date on this board and go with the group decision.  I will also still email those I can to see if they have any input we may be missing.  Let me know if anyone needs anything!

then maybe some people need to get on the phone or put their tail between their legs and kiss and hug and apologize ;) I have had egg on my face this week and admitted it and made it right! (at least i hope i did )

Not everyone is involved directly with all the turmoil going on. Yes, we are a crew, but the large majority of us have nothing more to add to whats been said, and those involved can hash it out on their own.

From my observations, most people are much better when you get them one on one rather than in a crowd.

mean last year on the parks site there was an actual DATE, and I saw it like 3 months afterwards and was like AW CRAP! I missed it.

I agree with Randy...a lot of what was said today didn't need to be said on the boards. Actually maybe ALL of what was said today didn't need to be said on the boards because it sucked other people into an argument (me!) and then you gotta buncha angry ass people, which isn't fun. I don't want any stinky poo under the rug, though, either. Ew.

Then let them hash it out in a way they deem necessary.

Getting everyone involved would, in my opinion, create more sides or 'cliques' and cause more problems.

traditionally the park clean up is on Earth Day in the park that it was found - I was going to organize this year's and I forgot about it. Scribe and some others did go to Phalen that day with bags, etc. If we end up with a bunch of snow in the late winter/early spring, we may not be able to get into the more rugged parts of Crosby in April.

PM, you have a good point.. the issues need to be addressed, the crew is based on a group of people "a family" so to speak, but with all the bs going on, behind people's backs, hell even in their faces.. right now.. we're not a group... just a bunch of little spots getting scattered around all over the place. I don't want to lose the family feeling.. if I can hold onto it I will, but until we get stuff addressed.. the gaps are just gonna keep getting bigger and bigger.

MM... I can only assume as one of the "involved" that things have been and will continue hash things out to the point that they can't be hashed anymore.

There comes a point for me at least where I have to step away and take a breath. I have a personal stake in what happens here just like everyone else.

I think what most people are saying is that we know it's out there.

How can we not? How can everyone else not?

But pushing to try and fix it or trying to push those of us involved to hurry up and fix it isn't going to help things.

Como's an awesome park! I took lots of pictures of the amusement park this year because now it's gonna be corporate park. That super sucks. The best picture I have is on this nice sunny day and everyone's on the rides and these suits are there in the shadows of trees with blueprints and are pointing at stuff. Corporate jerks. Who says rides have to be expensive to be fun?

I don't know how we will have everyone together to vote until the next hunt. However, I think by using email we can ask people to come back to vote so that we are able to come to a logo decision in enough time to make stuff.

I want a baseball cap and a headband that say Cooler Crew ready for me to use during the hunt. If we don't have a vote before then, I will either use the current logo or pick one made by one of our graphic designers and have it made myself. I suspect others might do this too and it seems silly considering so many people (or smaller groups) would then be paying for a pattern. Because of this I would like to push this along and get a decision sooner rather than later. But in the end, I will move forward for myself if a decision hasn't been made.

Things will either get worked out or they won't.

But the crew will go one regardless.

For the most part OTS.. that's what I've been saying.. you yourself said we need to take things one step at a time... but what's more important? Keep the group together or having cool stuff to wear? I guess that's the 1,000,000 dollar question here.

Well not everyone who wants to talk about logos has anything to do with other issues.

The issues will be there regardless. Meanwhile other memebers of the crew want to talk about the Logos, or the weather or whatever.

I don't expect anyone here to put their life on hold for me. At the same time I don't expect anyone to put the crew on hold for these issues.

I see the point MM, but I was here the ENTIRE day and am just tired of long angry posts. I'm trying to avoid that right now.

The stuff that went on today will hash itself out with the people involved. The logo is a possible dividing point for us so working on that is a good thing. If we figure that out, it may bring us closer together. Something we can agree on, or at least vote on, or whatever.
