So I go to this work dinner last night at someplace called Majito's on Excelsior Ave.... They give out these sheets of paper with questions that you have to fill out about yourself (soul searching) - what kind of flower are you? what animal fits you best? what song fits you best? What Halloween costume would you wear in the Spring?

what was the last thing that made you laugh?

The only thing that I could think of was "anything KT says"

ofcourse no one would know what that means.

ST. PAUL - The three women who say the Vulcan King from the St. Paul Winter Carnival sexually assaulted them plan to speak out today.

Tom Trudeau is charged with three counts of sexual assault.

The female bartenders say Trudeau sexually molested them while putting garters on their legs at Alary's Bar in downtown St. Paul.

Winter Carnival officials granted Trudeau's request for a leave of absence last week and suspended the Vulcan Krewe until the police investigation is complete.

The attorney for the alleged victims told the Pioneer Press that the women will talk at a news conference today about how the case is affecting them.

Isn't this a criminal case, not a civil one?

Like you didn't believe it was going to be civil.  It's a he said/she said case as far as we know, that's not going to get a conviction.  However, it might get you some $$$.

The attorney for three female bartenders who claim they were sexually assaulted at Alary's Bar in St. Paul said this morning that they have received an apology directly from their alleged assailant.

The Star Tribune was attempting to confirm that Thomas C. Trudeau, who has denied the allegations, made the apology.

Attorney Jeffrey Sieben said that no decision has been made as yet as to who the three women will sue, if anyone. He did leave open the possibility, however, that the women could sue the Winter Carnival or Alary's, where they still work.

Trudeau, the 2005 Fire King and leader of the Vulcans, allegedly touched the three bartenders inappropriately during the garter ritual, which involves the fire king and his Vulcan Krewe surrounding a young woman and placing a garter around her thigh as part of a knighting ceremony.

Vulcan Krewe members and employees at Alary's said the men, dressed in their hoods, goggles and red running suits, descended on the St. Paul bar on Feb. 1 following a night of drinking and lap dances at a strip club. According to the criminal complaint, police and the women allege that Trudeau went too far, touching them inappropriately, jabbing his fingers into the women's crotches and touching their breasts.

The three women who claim they were molested by Trudeau are 19 and 20 years old, Sieben said. He refused to identify them further. The three women also prepared a statement, which was read this morning during a press conference at Sieben's Minneapolis law office. They said they "felt intimidated and humiliated" by what Trudeau and the Vulcans had done.

Trudeau, 54, is charged with three counts of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct, a gross misdemeanor, and is free on $3,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Ramsey County District Court on March 15.

Since the incident, Trudeau has taken a voluntary leave of absence. The entire Vulcan krewe has been suspended by Winter Carnival officiasl while a committee debates their future with the festival. Among the items the committee is considering is banning the garter ritual and prohibiting the tradition pub crawling that tyhe Vulcans are known for. A decision is expected within the next two months.

Clue Master

descended on the St. Paul bar on Feb. 1 following a night of drinking and lap dances at a strip club

That still blows my mind since me2 & I spoke with those guys, particularly Trudeau, and they were so reserved to the point that both of us thought they were the most laid back Vulcan's that we've ever met.  Tom was even pushing the whole new family spin for this years Vulcs.  Their slogan was something like - 'What are we here for? - the kids, that's who".  But he also followed it up with "We don't have to look for fun because the fun will follow us".

Either way, I just don't see this big night of booze and strippers happening unless they showed up at Alery's after bar close.  I don't recall the time listed in any article.  I have no comment on the allegations just on the lap dance comment.  Which I understand was quoted from Trudeau in an earlier article when trying to justify himself.  Huh

It is clear that the intentions of parties directly (and perhaps some indirectly) involved is to sue. I have a feeling there aren't many people on the girl's side who really care if he is convicted in the criminal case. As usual, its all about $$$.

My question has always been this. What will it accomplish if these girls sue the Winter Carnival board? The only thing it will do is add zeros to 4 bank accounts and raise insurance premiums for all of us.

To coin a phrase from THX, if he is guilty I hope they nail his balls to the wall. Either way, I hope they don't profit financially from this. I think its wrong.
