Just playing the waiting game right now DDY :) we signed a purchase agreement last night and are just waiting to hear if they will accept it. It is in grasston but it's not the one we originally wanted, someone already had a purchase agreement on that one so we had to look at the others, if all goes well we should be in there by March 10th, the day before my B-day :)
FYI: I have an entertainment center to give away if anyone wants it, it's the fake red wood, glass door where the stereo goes, one of the doors on the bottom needs to be fixed but otherwise it's in ok shape.
I was talking to one of the OIG guys in doing our audit today. Because they are the OIG for the USDA, they also do audits of trees and cows. I told him I wanted to see the suits that have been in our office out counting cows.
I agree.... Six Flags aint all its cracked up to be.... we went to the one in Dallas, TX back in like 97 or so..... their supposed to have one of the biggest wooden roller coasters around or somethin like that... it was cool and all, but yeah.... i'll stay with Valley Fair, too..
Hi All - Just slogged the last 300 outstanding posts - this is the slowest of the boards - to I thought I'd pop in, catch up and say hello. I try to randomly read, but it seems like by the time I get to posting - its a dead comment.
Mucky - that is great about the 3 day - My GM passed away from it, my mom is a survivor. One of my closest friends walked in it here (in Oct) last year - her team raised over $30k. Try sending letters to the local Rotary/Lions/Kiawanis groups - they are all over that kind of stuff - also Realitor offices. Can you egram me the info? I'd love to donate.Â
LL -Congrats on the house - that is great!Â
Kitch - Yes, chances are some of your X's are thinking about you on your Bday. I actually go as far as sending some of them cards - as I know it rattles their cages to no end that I remember.
Amusement Parks -Been to everyone in CA, AZ & TX - and ya know - you just don't get a better wooden coaster than the High Roller at VF.Â
Hope everyone has a cooler weekend & president's day etc... Take Care!
Today was a tad bit better - there were no OIG folks in the office and it's a wakeup closer to Finally Friday.
But someone sent me something I thought I would share here.
Somebody said that a child is carried in its mother's womb for nine months. Somebody does not know that a child is carried in its mother's heart forever.
Somebody said it takes about six weeks to get back to normal after you've had a baby. Somebody doesn't know that once you're a mother, normal is history.
Somebody said you learn how to be a mother by instinct. Somebody never took a three-year-old shopping.
Somebody said being a mother is boring. Somebody never rode in a car driven by a teenager with a driver's permit.
Somebody said if you're a "good" mother, your child will "turn out good." Somebody thinks a child comes with directions and a guarantee.
Somebody said "good" mothers never raise their voices. Somebody never came out the back door just in time to see her child hit a golf ball through the neighbor's kitchen window.
Somebody said you don't need an education to be a mother. Somebody never helped a fourth grader with his math.
Somebody said you can't love the fifth child as much as you love the first. Somebody doesn't have five children.
Somebody said a mother can find all the answers to her child-rearing questions in the books. Somebody never had a child stuff beans up his nose.
Somebody said the hardest part of being a mother is labor and delivery. Somebody never watched her "baby" get on the bus for the first day of kindergarten.
Somebody said a mother can do her job with her eyes closed and one hand tied behind her back. Somebody never organized seven giggling Brownies to sell cookies.
Somebody said a mother can stop worrying after her child gets married. Somebody doesn't know that marriage adds a new son or daughter-in-law to a mother's heartstrings.
Somebody said a mother's job is done when her last child leaves home. Somebody never had grandchildren.
Somebody said your mother knows you love her, so you don't need to tell her. Somebody isn't a mother.
Somebody said the hardest part of being a mother is labor and delivery. Somebody never watched her "baby" get on the bus for the first day of kindergarten.
CM said this one right on target.
Even the other day when they were telling us how good the boy was doing in school I felt that way. After all the speech issues and the fine motor skill issues he's had since he was a baby he's come to pass the other kids in the class at all levels. Talk about overcoming issues.
He used to be really shy too. But according to the teacher he's everyones favorite friend.
They are always making us see things in a new light.
Somebody never watched her "baby" get on the bus for the first day of kindergarten.
Thinking back to the hardest things I've ever had to experience in my life - My mind always brings up things to do with my kid first, things involving love and relationships second, death third and career and money fourth. The last three seem to change places from time to time but seeing Alibabas get put under for an MRI or get her first shots always seem to rank at the top of the list for me.
No offence to the non-parents here, and I'm sure you've heard this before as I had many times before I was a dad, but you've never really experienced life until you've experienced being a parent. And I'm sure that covers ALL types of parents.

Orion!!! My Burfday's MONDAY!!! :D HIPPO BIRDIES TWO EWES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ittiz my before-my-Burfday weekend!!! :D And ittiz Friday, thank gods. The past two weeks have been HELL. Yes.
Still not 100% better. Got a sore throat a week ago today. Hit a Minute Clinic at Target... No strep (thought I was gonna owe you, Chesty, a HUGE "Thank You!"!!! :D), so no antibiotics. Have been in serious pain until today. The nursey lady gave me this lanocain or sumpin', to gargle with? But said not to swollow enknee as it would do a number on my heart. Like make it erratic or something. So, I've not TOUCHED the stuff! YIKES! (I'm one o'those that can't help but have a bit go down when gargling...)
Found out the 8th that April 8th izzit around here for some o'us... Slim pickin's out there right now. Have been shot-gunning the ol'resume around. Talked to two fiends today and did get some good/happy news from them I've been following up on.
BIG Burfday weekend!!! Outta town for some fun... Hooo-Boy! :D
'Tox, you are THE FUNNIEST!!!! I've been laughing at the things you say.
Last night on my way home...I had a flat-tire. I'm so glad that I never got to cleaning out the truck of my car after the Hunt.
I had my boots, snowpants, warm gloves, winter hat, a red PP (I use as a neck guard, and best of all.....MY LANTERN!!!!
So I changed my tire in at 830pm in style!!!! Me and my lantern on the side of the road - was soo nice to have had that in my car still.....I'm not taking it out....EVER!!!
For some dumb reason or another, last year at Phalen I was on my 12th month of my temporary tire... after a recent snowfall, I spun around the corner of the park parking lot and hit a curb with my temp tire... not cool, cuz I blew it.
I had my old tire in the trunk, and everything else, except a jack... Most of the people were leaving the park, and for a good 15 minutes no on was willing to let me borrow their jack. Finally, someone in a Caravan came to my rescue and let me borrow one. But then I realized that my old tire was still flat, and had not magically regenerated itself into a good tire, so I had to runn all of the way down to a (?)Holiday(?) quite a ways down Arcade to get some of the fix a flat cans.... fun stuff...
Ok, so it isn't really related to your story.... nor very interesting...

Jake:
I know we didn't have anything definite for today, but I'm going to be in Mankato and Saint Peter all day. Maybe next week?
Happy upcoming birthday, LL... That just so happens to be the day that I was deployed... :(
I just need to vent....
Thank goodness today is about over!!!!
I would swear this was a full moon kind of day...but it's not a full moon.
I'll be ready for a padded cell if the rest of the week continues the way it has been.
Now...back to shooting the breeze..
We're going now to get groceries for my Mom.
Hope someone comes up with something really funny while I'm gone. I need a good laugh!

Hi Terry - Hope your day was better than mine
