Hugs for friends!

Submitted by tim_the_hunter on

I will always feel greatful for ALL of my friends that I have made in the Cooler Crew, that is a given.

However, sometimes someone does something that just needs an additional "shout out" if you will.  This is the place for those shoutouts.

*disclaimer* Being excluded from a hug in this thread does not make you a bad person, it just means someone forgot the nice things you've done for them.  Perhaps try reminding them via a nasty email.

Pay Me

I live in Old Rondo and hear it all the time...less so now that all of a sudden people are calling my nieghborhood "Summit Hill". Funny, wonder why its changed. I've been here the whole time and everythings the same to me.:)

East Side is still not as bad as Selby-Dale was in the 70's.....Wonder if we stick it out and stay in our house, if everything will be wonderful in 20 years?....

We've stayed here in Frogtown for 25 years and it has gotten better. There's no active drug houses in the immediate area and I can't remember the last time I saw a hooker.

What's weird about Frogtown, there are blocks where you just wouldn't want to live and over a block or two, it's much nicer.

Of course we were quite active in getting this area cleaned up of drug dealers and in-your-face prostitution. We weren't about to be pushed out of here.

Any neighborhood can go to hell quickly if people don't take care of their homes, yards get trashy and people don't pay attention to the neighbors and what's going on. We worked with our block club organization and knew the number to the police non-emergency line by heart.

Not that things are perfect here, but they are better.

It also helps that the corner of Dale and University is no longer the place in the Twin Cities to buy sex.

10 years ago you could hardly get people to move into our neighborhood, now the houses are selling like hotcakes.

The east side is the same way. And you're absolutely right, the fact that most people rent makes it really hard to do anything.

I love when the renters across the street empty there trash from there car on my lawn at night thats just so cool.

What's even better is when they set your trash can on fire!  Just kidding.... and we only had that happen once....and it *probably* wasn't the neighbors across the street :).

Renters aren't bad if the landlord is around. It gets much nastier if the landlord is absent.
