Last night at moonlight bowling my ticket was picked to do some shot where I needed to bowl a 9 or strike for 5 frames and win $1000.  The whole place shuts down except lane 1 where I was to start.  I bowled a 6 and swore out loud.  OOops.  Then I decided to try and pick up the spare using my under-the-legs technique.  Well, they decided to bring the bar down right after I let it rip.  SMACK!!!  The ball hit the bar with a huge noise.  Everybody just gasped.  OOOppps.  At lease it hit the bar hard enough to bounce the ball all the way back to me.  Talk about embarrassing.  The two lanes that we were bowling on were cracking up sooo hard.  Everybody could hear them.  The manager mentioned that the last time someone did that it cost them $2000.  Oh well.  They should have let me pick up the spare.  ;-)

hahaha kind of embarassing(but not as painful) as the guy I got in the gonads at Flahritys or however ya spell the damn place.. I'm tired leave me alone :P lol, anywho.. the poor guy was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and got it in the jewels. I had never heard a guy scream as high as Mariah Carey before, and lay in the fetal position.... this was back in  highschool mind you, so there were a lot of teens around. I was so embarassed I hid in the girls bathroom until the guy left. Then my friends decided it would be funny to ask him for his phone # on my behalf. I had never picked up a pool stick again and decided I wouldn't until like a year ago I think it was. Something like that. lol but I still don't like to play.

I heard it on my scanner last night, all I heard was that it was a woman, early 20's, I fell asleep after that. I think I heard it was on case and burr maybe?

Oh geeze that's right down the block from where I used to live. I lived on Burr and Cook about 2 blocks from there. Makes me glad I moved outta the cities.. that's for sure.

:P no Nick.. it's suburbia.. different than the inner city.. where U R isn't that bad, but where I used to live is and was bad. It's nice and quiet up here, nothing ever happens. I'm not afraid 2 b outside after dark.. not like I was where I used 2 live.

My dad was just telling me a lil bit ago, that a guy who he works with, is living with a lady, and the guy that was killed was her son.... from what he says it was mostly a crime of "chance" if you will..... they followed him from a bar or something, and tried to rob him, and shot him after finding out that he didnt have any money.

the chances of something like that happening somewhere else, "suburbia" or elsewhere are likely too.... it really doesnt matter where you live, if a crime is gonna happen, its gonna happen, nice neighborhood or not.

Nick... ya do got a point.. crime can happen anywhere, but it's more likely to happen in the "ghetto" neigborhoods than in suburbia, it's just common sense.

East side is a danger zone.  My mom was driving down a road (Case & Payne) in daylight when some guys in a car smashed into her on purpose.  When she got out of her car, they robbed her and beat her nearly to death with pipes.  She had broken bones in her face, etc.

I actually could hear the protesting from the Capitol all the way to my house (across the river) I saw the helicopters and thought something was up. Thanks for the update.

Oh yeah I could tell ya lots of stories of things I've seen and experianced.. that's why I moved from there, when the house across the street from me got shot up.. that was enough for me. A little too close for comfort.

Hey Me2.  So, what did you sing Friday night? :)

Mom died in 2000 in car accident, Grandpa died in 2002, Godfather in 2003, Grandma & 2 cats in 2004 plus 4 other semi-close relatives in between.  Whew!

I'll try to be at the AW gathering, but I have an open house that day, so we'll see...

Good Evening!

We were out at a gospel singing extravaganza at Augsburg tonight. It was part of the celebration for black history month. Brenda read one of her poems and the mistress of ceremonies told the audience when she was done that they were listening to the next Maya Angelou. Brenda was quite taken back by that compliment. So were her proud parents. :-)

I just sent an email to her asking for a copy. I told her to autograph it for me too. Might as well have the first autographed copy of that for when she gets famous.

Hehehehehe

She has always been good with poetry. She did one about wanting to be an eagle. I think that was about 4th grade. It was published in the paper in the Sunday comic section at one point. We used that some years later for her brother's Eagle Scout ceremony.

To hear her get up in front of that crowd tonight and do her poem with such feeling and class...it don't get much better.

It's nice when a Monday can end on such a high note.

And the music was awesome. The acoustics were terrible for that type of music, but you would have to be dead not to enjoy it anyways.
