Her writing is her way of coping with the situations she and other soldiers had/have to endure.
That's the feeling I got; what I thought as I read it. Pretty scary stuff. Tell her I, too, enjoyed (for lack of a better word) reading of her xperience. Pretty DAMN scary stuff.Â
Hay, Scribbles! Thanks for the congrats on my TWO biggies in two days!
Yea, Ter! Can you BELIEVE IT? I NOODLED it! :D My gravestone will read:
Just turning 40 is all - I'll make it through it if I stand tough and focus. But it's just real hard to do lately. I've been a bit fuzzy. Is there some sort of chemical that's released when you turn 40? Cause I've felt real different for over a month now.
Big Bummer, My Master. Sorry to hear things not going well for you. You're always so chipper and happy. Hang in there. Hope whatever improves FAST for you!
Thanks Frosti and green - But it's making me reflect for some reason. I usually don't give one shit about stuff like this. I've been doing a lot of 'what ifs' lately. Damn!
CM - Speaking from a point of view 12 years older than you, it's okay to reflect. Sometimes one can't help but wonder what if...but use those reflections to help in forming a direction you want to go.
About the time I turned 45, I had that feeling like we needed to do some planning for our future so we thought about where we wanted to live and the kind of life we wanted in retirement. We made some plans, did some checking on things and made some moves to prepare for that time of our lives.
Things change and you can't predict how things will turn out later, but having a vision looking forward is a good thing.
And remember...getting older is better than the alternative!
Christ, Master! I laughed my ass off on my 40th! Couldn't BELEIVE a kid could be 40!
And... By-the-by... There IS a thing called "male menopause." Sorry to have to break the news to you. But you guys, too, have a decrease in hormones... And it does the same damn thing to you boys: depression, mood swings, stuff like that.
Forty's nuttin'! COME ON! Smile! Think o'all you've got to teach me about geocaching and how much fun you'll have showing a numb-nuts like me the ropes!
'Sides. You don't LOOK 40, and you shure as HELL don't act it!
Instead of "what if's", think about "thank God's" and see how things stack up. Might not look so bad then. I think I felt worse when my kids turned 40 than they did.
When you say what if, think if given the same set of circumstances at the same time of your life and knowing only what you knew then as opposed to what you know now, would you have done anything differently? I'm guessing that 99.9 percent of the time, if you're honest with yourself, you wouldn't change a thing. It's only in hindsight that we think we would change how we handled something.
CM, I know what you're going through. I'll be 40 only for a few more days. I got so depressed last year at this time. Good bye to 30's. Hello old age. How did I end up here? I woke up last year, looked at hubby snoring and taking all the covers and wondered if I should just kill him so I could be free. HAHA. Just kidding. Kinda...  Anyway, I'm gonna start counting backwards now. I'll soon be 39. Maybe you should do the same. And remember, you're not alone. We're all getting older together. Oh, and when I got up from bed and looked in the mirror, I remembered that my hubby has to live with me and my flaws too. :) Nothins ever gonna be perfect...
So today a county licensor was in our offices meeting with the director of our program. The licensor is someone I've known for a number of years. We speak on the phone every now and again, but we seldom see each other. She pays me a compliment about not looking any older and then the director, who has been there for three years, but I have also known for quite a number of years, says:
"I can't believe how gray you've gotten in the time I've been here."
I smiled and told her it was all her fault.
The licensor just about fell out of her chair. It was a special moment in time.
Ter, I've not noticed you get gray. You look the same to me as you did eight years ago.
And I'm AMAZED at how old you perport (did I spell that rite/use it rite? Really! I DID get a 100% on those essays! I never wrote them this late at nite and I had time to AGANIZE over ever single werd!) to be! You DO NOT LOOK IT. In my eyes, you look YEARS younger'un me. Ittiz only when you tell on yourself - like you did tonite - that I realize you're not. You look WAY younger than you are.
I gots to toddle. I was gonna bee in bed as soon as I got home at 8:30 tonite... This damn cold. I can't quit sneezing, coughing, and blowing my nose. I was up until like 2:00 AM last nite cuz I couldn't decompress over that damn 100% on the essays. And lookey what time ittiz now... 12:28AM. Crap.
Well, 'Heads...
SCDs and MCL to you all. Catch you guys in the [later] AM! :D

Yea there is. It turns into belly fat. I got married one week before turning 40. Don't worry though. Your still a punk to me ; ) I really like OT's advise

"One Clue & One Cache Noodled"
I don't think I'm going to have a headstone. Maybe a memorial something...a tree...a park bench...something like that.
Will you two stop talking about that? Geesh!
Wierdos!
Takes one to know one Scribe! Weirdo!!!
I want my headstone to read: "So it goes".
That was very nice TV - You should be very proud. Brenda has a real talent.
g - First cache? Great jorb! Please post your log. Grats!
I know my headstone will definitely say "He was even late to his own funeral"
I'm feminine. Well!!! I am, I just can't spell it! (Did I spell it rite?)
ENKNEEWEIGHS, I'm "weirda" - NOT "werido" - cuz I R a gurl.
Hey CM! How goes things with you? Anything new? Old? Interesting?
My Master! I DID!!!! It was the "Strike" one. And see My Thread.
Thanks!!!!! :D
Hey CM! How goes things with you? Anything new? Old? Interesting?
Glad to read the work thing is working out.
Sorry to hear the personal life is on a downhill slide. Hope that resolves sooner rather than later. No fun I'm sure.

Crap. Forget all I said. Listen to Ter. She says stuff better.
Yeah...and "what if" land is never really better once you go there.
Because once there you start thinking "Oh shit! What if I hadn't!"
Instead of "what if's", think about "thank God's" and see how things stack up. Might not look so bad then. I think I felt worse when my kids turned 40 than they did.
JOE! (thanks green)
HA!
But what do I know? I'm only turning 36 in May. HA!
OT, best go bock and "JOE!!!" your "JOE!!!"Â :D
And while you're reflecting, CM, do this:

I told my husband about your car with the beer can sized hole on the floor and we laughed.Â
It gave that car character...and helped keep us out of trouble. :-)
Time for bed. Goodnight and SCDs to coolerheads everywhere!
