I went for a walk yesterday in Swede Hollow and saw an otter playing in one of the little ponds. That was awesome. I didn't think that anything was alive down there.
You could just take the THG and go through every park and see which ones might fit the clue. That's what I usually do during the big treasure hunt when I know I'm looking for a specific trait.
Thanks spiriteagle. Terry, my first thought was Milbern's men's clothing store on University. How close is that to Iris Park? Are we being steered from largest to smallest park on our search?
My gut tells me that you're leading us around the town with clues that reference a different park every day but eventually will lead us to the right park. My gut says there is some kind of formula, but I haven't figured out what that is yet. But I think you're intentionally not giving us the right park yet because of this year's PP hunt where they gave us the park with the first clues. And that's what you do. You use the worst aspect of the PP clues to correct that with your clues. But maybe my gut is wrong and I just have indigestion. ;)
To take us to parks where it's been hidden before and then eventually leading us to a new park. Perhaps one that either it's never been hidden in the PP hunt or yours, or a park that isn't mapped in the THG.
If there is a pattern, it just isnt showing itself to me in big red flashing letters. When you give me a clue that shows a big flashing arrow pointing to the chip maybe I will have a better chance at finding it:)
Yes, to get us out off our butts and exploring new parks. To help us in upcoming hunts
That may be a side benefit, but it wouldn't direct you to the treasure.
So one theory is that the clues are trying to establish a pattern of parks and the real park is the final entry in the pattern (is that right?) Any other reason for talking about different parks?
To prove that any one clue can mean different things to different people? That we should use our brains to find the not so obvious park from the clue?
By that I mean that we tend to follow a few good noodles on a specific park and get tunnel vision. That's how the internet has changed the PP hunt. People read something online and don't think the clue through as well as they should. And that's why the clues have become more complex than in the past.
I had my own little hunt tonight. A couple of my grandchildren were working puzzles today and mixed all the pieces together. So I spent a good amount of time tonight working the puzzles so that I could get the right pieces in the correct boxes.Â
Take the ideas your gut is telling you and see where they lead. That's all any hunter can do really. Sometimes you have to ignore what your brain is telling you.
Personally, solving the clues is more fun for me than actually finding the prize. Last year I told MrMikey where to look at Marydale and went out there to see how he was doing. I found him on the wrong side of the lake and asked why he wasn't on the other side and he had started there but went over to the other side where others were looking. Eventually they moved over to the right side, but I felt good that I had figured that out on my own.Â
I want to feel that rush tomorrow morning. I was hoping to this morning, but I didn't realize there was going to be so much snow. Tomorrow I'll be better equipped.
Why do you say that, Kitch? I'd been saying that side of the lake for a couple of days. Maybe it was more a "gut feeling" than deciphering the clues right, but that's the side I thought was right.
I want this.......
Birth year Un-Joe!
hey all...been tied up the last couple of days.
Let's not forget that Afton itself is also a 'burb.
spiriteagle - indeed it is!
Hi TV.Â
So...we have Afton, Mound, White Bear...
Take your pick I guess!
"A building of proper suitability" -- to whose standards? :) I guess that I am looking for a refrigerator box or greater.Â
Being White Bear Ave borders Conway, I thought of that park for the first time tonight. There must be some sort of "suit" store at Sunray. Hehehehe
I love the suit idea...that is good TV.
I guarantee it...
All I know is that I've never been this befuddled at clue 9.
No doubt about the being stumped.
I went for a walk yesterday in Swede Hollow and saw an otter playing in one of the little ponds. That was awesome. I didn't think that anything was alive down there.
Â
Isn't there a North St. Paul Road somewhere? Or did they rename it Margaret St.
OT,
No, I believe that is still there -- it branches off of White Bear Ave, but in Maplewood.

But...AW, whatever happened to "unmapped terrain" ????
Looks like Milbern's is two blocks from Iris Park.Â

If you figure out the method to the madness, you will know.

Alrighty...well I guess that I just don't get it. Good luck everyone.
As you look at each of the clues, what does your gut tell you?

If it's true that every clue is talking about a different park, what might be the reason for that?

right on there rosie!!

But so will everyone else!
To take us to parks where it's been hidden before and then eventually leading us to a new park.
That's one possibility. Any others?
Clue Master's birthday year Un-Joe!
*edit* Too slow. Sorry CM

off to the shed!!!
For instance, I had never been to Marydale Park until your hunt last year. Nice park!

to drive me crrrrrrrrrrrraaaazzzzzzzzzzzyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!
Damn, I've been discovered!

Good points also, but they won't lead you to the treasure either.
If it makes anyone feel better (or maybe worse) I know some people have figured out what's going on with the clues.
My gut tells me that "not one step, but two" is key to the pattern.
If it makes anyone feel better (or maybe worse) I know some people have figured out what's going on with the clues.
and still haven't found it ...
I've found that the less I listen to other's ideas (Allisons in particular) the better clue noodler I am.
I'm sure they have, but I'm kind of out of the loop and am not privy to that information.
Gutshot Straight
An straight filled 'inside'. If you have 9s-8s, the flop comes 7c-5h-2d, and the turn is the 6c, you've made your gutshot straight.

You have no idea what a rush it is to find one of these OT. Why do you think im such an addict?
hmmm.....no finders yet???
Â
going to be soon now.....
I want to feel that rush tomorrow morning. I was hoping to this morning, but I didn't realize there was going to be so much snow. Tomorrow I'll be better equipped.
last year nobody knew what side of the lake was the right side of the lake...
Â
the silly rabbit made a slight mistake....

As far as I know there are no mistakes this year.
There's one whole park that isn't mapped in the new THG that was in previous versions.
