Been really busy here, and I am taking a class online.
I got the 3m stuff, it is great! Most of it is gone, I brought it all to the shop, the tape was great to tape off a custom paint job on one of our trucks!
I am ready to fall asleep now... So I'll see ya later!!
WHEW!!! Zeph- we forbid you to not check in.... It keeps us sane, and we do not argue with each other. Hope all is well, and you're keeping those camel spiders out of your shoes.
Hey Zeph, want to send us some of those Louisianan's so we can use them for traction?
Rest of Today Breezy...snow. Snow may be heavy at times. New snow accumulation of 5 to 7 inches. Highs around 30. East winds 15 to 25 mph.
Tonight Snow. Snow accumulation of 1 to 6 inches. Storm total snow accumulation of 11 to 21 inches. Lows around 20. Northeast winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow decreases to 50 percent after midnight.
Saturday Mostly cloudy. A chance of snow. Highs around 30. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 40 percent.
I am taking an online course from SCORE on starting and operating a business. I have found a wholesaler that will work with me, this one is pretty crappy, but am working on a few others. I figured- hey, I have a lot of spare time, or so it seems, I might as well try and make a few bucks...
I have put a few things up on eBay, to see how it goes, and soon found out that everyone and their brother has the same supplier... (note to self... Market Research)
my name on ebay is jasonlawrenceanderson if you are interested... I have a few cool looking knives up...
Anyway, what else is new... Â Our internet is really slow now... took 10 minutes for this compose block to pop up, so this will be my only post today :( It is too slow to slog through the other threads, but I will try and get on here more often :)
We recently had a weapons qualification and I did the worst that I had ever gotten... I hit 26 out of 40... pretty crappy. I was on the first firing order, and the sun was popping up over our barracades and it was putting little starbursts in my safety glasses :( I also learned a lesson on not putting too much oil on my barrel ( not that way ) as I went to my 2nd magazine, my barrel began to smoke pretty bad... I even had to blow the smoke out of the way so I could see (kinda, remember the little starbursts?)
Oh well... ummmmm....
OH!! LAM... has JP told you his .50 Cal story??? It is pretty cool... His first time firing one, he shot the target right off of the plywood it was attached to!! He was in 7th heaven!
Grandpa Dan... Thanks for the weather report! Zephs Wife was saying that she had to shovel the 8-10 inches they got in Rosemount... crazy... And I was sitting here sweating... pretty hard to relate from here :(
well... wish you all well!! I will see you guys again soon:) I promise to not have such a long delay between my next post :) Â C YA!
soon found out that everyone and their brother has the same supplier
You are in Iraq, is there some cool stuff you can get there and put on e-bay or is that not allowed?
I sold a WWII Jap carbine and bought a WWI Russian long gun=)
Jeez, talk about history. That sounds more like museum pieces than gun show material.
Do you know much about hand guns? I have an old .32 breaktop. The barrel says Forehand Model 1891, Hopkins & Allen Arms co. Norwich, CT. It has a F&W above a shield with American flag on the grip and a serial # (?) on the bottom of 1039. I did some research and found that Forehand and Wadsworth were in business until 1901/1902 when Hopkins & Allen took them over. I assume that my pistol was produced during that time due to the low serial number and the F&W handgrip that was probably leftover from the old company.
I doubt that it is worth much as the plating is rusting off and the action is pretty worn out (it still works although I am not stupid enough to shoot it), but it does make a good conversation piece. What would it cost to get something like that replated or would that hurt the value of the pistol?
Guard unit credits training in overcoming 27 insurgents
BAGHDAD, Iraq, March 22, 2005 – A Kentucky National Guard unit is being credited with responding in “textbook” fashion during an ambush here March 20, killing 27 insurgents and capturing a sizable weapons cache and valuable intelligence.

Iraqi and U.S. forces kill 80 insurgents in 17-hour battle
TIKRIT (Iraq) - Iraqi forces claimed today to have killed 80 insurgents in a commando raid on a suspected training camp near Lake Tharthar, north of Baghdad - although US military accounts of the same battle suggested a much lower total. "We have killed 80 fighters in a battle that lasted 17 hours..." said Colonel Mohammed Ibrahim with the Joint Coordination Centre, a rapid reaction unit that includes Iraqi and US forces.

Iraqi merchants, residents kill insurgents
BAGHDAD, Iraq -
Gunbattles erupted out in the streets of the southern Baghdad neighborhood of Doura, where militants wearing black hoods and riding in three cars opened fire on people shopping on a main street. Shopkeepers and residents returned fire, killing three assailants.

Ittiz gray and gonna rainy here. :( Hurts my head... I'm a hoomun barometer. Hay! Send me some o'your Friday you got cookin' there. Ittiz almost the weekend!
Not to worry.. your buddy is about an hour and a half north of here ( I am in SW Baghdad )
If I make it up there again, I will try and find where his unit is located, their base is huge, but I will try for you :)
OTiS.. I will have to clear that with the controller to make sure I am not violating any usage policy or anything, but I will have to see what I can come up with for ya... I had some really cool fantasy knives up on ebay, and some leather jackets... I found a new distributor that has DeWalt and other name brand tools: auto, body, construction and the like... I am gonna do some diggin' and I am trying now to find motorcycle parts and accessories. My original idea was to have a halloween themed store, but I really want to do the motorcycle thing too and I am thinking it would be better overall if I can make it work, because motorcycles are a year round deal.
To everyone else...
Good afternoon!
I gotta run, I have a PT test tomorrow... ::crossing fingers, I have been slacking::
I don't think that I am near your friend, but the mosque on his blog looks very much like the one just outside our gate here. If it is, then it is rubble all around it, very far around it, the only thing appearing to be standing from the freeway is the mosque. It is untouched. Very very big as well...
I was going to get R&R to Qatar for 4 days, but it looks like I will be leaving here on the 1st to come home instead. I doubt that they will still give me the R&R right after I had leave... I am not sure what day I will be home, but I will be leaving here then. It can take a few days to a while longer to get out of Kuwait.
More details as I know them :D
Oh, for the Easter Holiday, we all get the day off, and since I have Saturday off anyway, I will have my first REAL WEEKEND!!! 2 days off in a week is unheard of, but 2 in a row? I wish that we could buy lottery tickets here... :)
I will pop back on later, I have to go and hide from the lightning that is sure to hit me now!
yeah zephy... lol it better not be.. or I know someone who'll get a butt whoopin.... :D j/k hope we get a chance to see ya on your trip home!! It's awesome to hear you're finally gettin a lil r&r over there... u deserve it!! Keep smilin and we'll see u when ya get home!

Three soldiers from the Kentucky unit were injured. Is that what you were referring to? There were no USÂ injuries in the incident in Tikrit.
Dang, here I thought I was posting GOOD news! Well, our guys and the Iraqi soldiers and the civilians all KICKED BUTT!!!!
