I know. I've got'um, too. And those friggin' hellacapeters! From the maples? Christinahandbasket!Â
I have hummers, sometimes. Think a pair keeps coming bock every year and living on the street behind me. Cause ittiz always a pair and they always come and go in the same direction.
I plant the climbing cardinal flower (not scarlet runner beads), and encourage my native columbine to grow. And do a hummer feeder. And I've hollyhocks that reseed every year. They like those, too. And the RED peonies I've got. And my RED bee balm I never ever thin, unless I move some. Can't think o'the hybrid name. Some English (like England) name. About 2,3 years ago I broke down and got a miniature lavendar/bluish bee balm. The hummers look at it, but aren't all that interested. That reminds me... Need to get more as too dry where I planted it... Bummer.
The hummers should like that wiegela. If you want a good book (if you don't already have it) get "Landscaping for Wildlife," but out by that guy with the girl's name that used to run the DNR. Carol! That's it!!! Carol Henderson. Yuppers. Him.
O.K. Crew. Thanks for the replies, and pics. I have lots of comments on them, BUT! I must change the subject, and need your input ASAP.
That movie they're filming up on the Iron Range with Charlize Theron and Woody Harrelson. It's about the first class-action lawsuit dealing with sexual harassment in the country, in the iron mines, when they started hiring women.
Well- there was a blip in the papers about it back in January- they needed a title, and opened a site for submissions. Â Dan went to work, sending them many ideas. He got an e-mail back telling him he was a finalist, and to reply on the 24th (today, duh) by midnight with only 1 of his entries. Submissions are only accepted by those who entered before, and we have no clue which one they liked. PLEASE!!! Indulge us with your favorite title- as soon as you can. We only have till midnight. I figured- the rest of your opinions mean far more than our own, so here's the list.
From the Stone a Rose Blooms The Thorn of the Iron Rose The Iron Rose The Iron Angel The Iron Angel Sings The Iron Angel Speaks Voice of the Iron Angel Sword of the Iron Angel The Iron Statue Speaks Rabbits Among Wolves Prey No More The Iron Raven Cries The Iron Heart Beats The Iron Maiden Sword of the Iron Maiden Rabbits Among Wolves-Prey No More
Oh- Did I mention the prize is $1000.00 If he wins, we'll throw a humdinger cooler crew partay!!! WeRD! To Yer MommA!
Otay. I get it. He submitted all those titles and one/some o'them they liked sos he's a finalist.
Ittiz "Prey No More." The rest, I think, are too colloquial. 'Prey' izza take-off on 'pray."  With up north thrown in. Not to mention they won't be the prey o'the harrassers enkneemore. They will have to pray no more as it will be a done deal when the trial's over.  The entire name says the movie.
thank you for your entries, the contest is over. let us talk gardening again. I have a beer for all of you if you wish- but hurry! It will be gone far before I start grilling more beer.
Oh- MMM- ...As always, you are a true inspiration to the "heehee" in all of us.
Yesterday I did a Catholic school. Today I did a Jewish school.... I figure that tomorrow will be the Jehovah's Witnesses. All I have to do is set up my camera by the door, and they will come knocking two by two. Next week I'll be at the 'wiccan wonderland', and the Hindu U.
All while we celebrate the crucifixion, and pagan holiday of Easter.

I kinda like Sword of the Iron Maiden and Sword of the Iron Angel myself. If it was going to be a made for TV movie, simply Iron Angel would be fine.

Just my take. Think that's the winning ticket.
[Edited by on Mar 24, 2005 at 06:09pm.]
what if you are gardening hops?? wouldnt beer work there?
  ...
He's going with The Iron Rose.
That's his story, and he's sticking to it.
We can discuss iris, hops, and ditch weed at a later date.
suisare.
Â
The Iron Rose - reminds me of the movie The Rose -and if there is really no corrolation between a rose and the storyline than forget it.
The Iron Angel-everyone wants to be saved from something at some point in their lives -its short and to the point! and it sounds good for this movie
The Iron Maiden --Â funny -but no
thank you for your entries, the contest is over. let us talk gardening again.
I have a beer for all of you if you wish- but hurry! It will be gone far before I start grilling more beer.
Inks grows roses. One of them was blooming yet this past November. Beautiful thing it was too.
Good luck KT. Do you know when they will announce the winner?
