I was listening to some news about the pope and how he has to be buried between the fourth and 6th day and he has to be on display for visitors. Then they vote 2 times a day (with tea leaves I think) and give out smoke signals every day. White smoke if they have a pope, black if they don't. Strange laws that were written centuries ago to deal with the death of a pope.

Quite a day here. My buddy called me earlier this morning, said his wife got hit by a car. I hopped in my truck to meet him at Regions, but he called me when I was on 35E and said they were releasing her. She got lucky and will just be bruised and sore for a while.

It's raining now, and when I was on 35E it was that "thick rain that's almost snow" kind of stuff.

Pulling for Mrs Frosti

They gave me an EKG and prescribed 3 more meds.  One for blood pressure, an antibiotic and some Vicodon because that Percoset didn't do anything for pain.  I'm hoping something works cause it's worse now than ever.  They should be kicking in in about 10 minutes.  Whoo Hoo!

Frosti - hope the wife's surgery went okay. Glad it wasn't anything serious.

CM - If that headache is all stress related - wow! Sounds like what you need is someway to get those things that are stressing you to line up, shape up, and go away.

Today was my son's 28th birthday. He's been on vacation in Flores this past week. I thought I'd share this part of his email to my Mom that he sent yesterday.

Didn't go back to the park today. It's DANG hot and it's only 11am! Seriously, I took a swim at sunrise and a cold shower after that. I mean, as long as you're not running around like I was yesterday in the jungle, then it's all good. Used up sooooo much water yesterday. I drank a whole gallon by 2pm. Used up some packets of Gatorade too the nurse gave me before leaving. It was really great though. The pyramids were cool. You could climb most of them. Not the ones where people have tumbled to their deaths, but then they were probably not doing it hands and feet. Silly people. Loads of pyramids and temples to scale. Great views too. It was reeeally nice. Not too many bird species but I saw monkeys! Tried to take a great pic of one hanging by its tail taking a wizz from 20 feet up. Fun becasue NO one was around me in the jungle when they came out. Of course, I was going to the more remote sites where none of the tourists really go without being in a group or with an armed guard ('cuz of the rapes and robberies in isolated areas, but I didn't know that until I read my Lonely Planet guide this morning). Anywho, not too many glyph reliefs or wooden carvings. At least not as many as I hoped. LOTS of european tourists here on the islands. Makes me jealous I can only speak two languages. Tomorrow I head home. Gonna stay with a friend in Guate and then spend Saturday in Antigua getting my clothes machine washed and dried (yes, that is my special birthday luxury/present to self) and getting pictures developed.

I'd ask you to prove that...but there are some things I'd rather not witness - thank you very much! :-)

Good Morning Crew!

Hope your day is filled with all the good things that spring brings. Anyone see a robin yet? I thought I heard one yesterday, but couldn't find it.

We will be heading out to see the folks shortly. Lots of driving today. Anyone know if the highway speed limit has already been raised? I guess we've only been on the freeway system. That drive out to Willmar is a long one at 55 mph.

Remember to set your clocks ahead tonight before hitting the hay.

We are off to see my wifes son in prison this morning. We haven't seen him in about a year. Kinda feeling guilty that it has been that long.

The Brother in law in the hospital was supposed to get the feeding tube in his stomach yesterday, but they found another blood clot in his brain and had to do surgery again. Doctors still say he should recover in a couple months. I'm crossing my fingers. He has a mild case of pnumonia also.

It's daylight savings time already?

Thanks for that Terry.

I had no idea.

Usually I hear about it all over the place, but not this year. Been too busy I guess.

Thanks for the well-wishing, all.

We got all the way to New Lisbon, Wi (about 3 hours away) to see my wifes son, and she forgot her drivers license at home. She could not go in and had to wait in the car. She cried the whole time we were in there and was still crying when we left. I felt really bad for her :(

I'm sure she will make another trip out there soon.

There were bazillions of robins out in Willmar today.

My father-in-law is doing okay and should recover completely with more therapy. He was very glad we were there.

My mother-in-law is much worse than she was at Christmas. Probably more noticeable because she's in stranger surroundings than she would be if she were able to be home. Alzheimers is a terrible disease. I think us being there only added to her confusion. I wish she would get to a point where she doesn't know she's forgetting stuff.

The staff there are going to try to set it up so they can sleep together in one bed. Last night, because she was so confused after getting up to use the bathroom, Alvin had her crawl into bed with him. The beds there are the typical hospital type beds that are twin size. He's a big guy - over 6 ft. tall and large framed.

I'm physically and emotionally drained. Planning on sleeping till I wake up on my own tomorrow.

ok, I have noticed a couple things with PF lately... that I like...when you delete a post the actual # is able to be reused and no one even notices the post was ever there at all.

also-look next to KC - he has no avatar -but he has no 'box' where an avatar should be.

3rdly, I have noticed that LL and NT arn't back yet :( - I miss them

4thly- I have noticed that Kitch hasn't been claiming Joes! Did he break himself of the habit!

lol makes egramming me more difficult I suppose. I'm still under the old no avatar during the hunt deal, and I've sorta stuck with it.. till I see an avatar I'd like (actually I do technically have an avatar now, it's just a 1 pixel transparent gif, so you can't see it).

could i get an rsvp from those who are planning on coming on saturday so we know how many burgers and cheezy wursts to have jdm(dontspamme)@visi.com. (remove everything between the ()'s). so far, i have positive responses from these folks:

green
greenteam
wicked nick/cocorosie
me2
esd
tmk
redbear
grandpa dan

to everyone else who's planning on coming, please rsvp via email to me by thursday.

and remember, this is just like the rehash. its a bring your own beverage party, as well as something else to share. if no one brings anything, we'll all be drinking ice water and eating nothing but burgers and wursts :) if you need directions to the house, ask for them when you rsvp, and i'll send a mapquest link where you can plug in your address and get directions.
