It was really nice to see a few good people at the airport. I'm not talking about the cooler crew either. I'm talking about the total strangers that walked up and shook Zephyrus's hand, just for being a soldier. It really made me feel good about the people in our comunity! Then to top it off, the resteraunt we went to gave him a free beer! Then when the bill came, his dinner was also free! Very cooler! Hope you enjoy your vacation Zeph! Thanks for letting us be a small part of it.
omg those pix were amazing!! I was so bummed that I couldn't make it I actually cried... you can just FEEL the emotions from those pictures. Mikey ya did a good job!! :) I'm sooo looking forward to Saturday.. according to the news looks like it's supposed 2 b a nice day. Zephy, Mark and I are so glad you're home!! It's a vacation well deserved that's for sure!

Even the security guard woman came away from her post in the 'do not enter' area and said one of her coworkers had either got teared up or cried or was gonna cry at seeing the cut out of Zeph-they said it was the coolest thing they had seen at the airport for a soldier coming home to. I couldnt make out the rest of what she said, maybe Ares can help us out here, but I think she said they saw him in the newspaper in January-not sure though.

"the people backing up-in the wrong lane" -wow aint that the truth! the signs above I think were flashing -even I did a 90 degree turn and cut all the way across the get to the only 2 lanes that took cash on the far end. Glad I didnt have to 'back up' from the wrong lane. The airport does look nice though. Everything was easily accessable (except exiting the ramp). Does the lightrail go there yet? That would have been cool to see.Â

Not sure about the airport, but I almost got ran over by it by the Mall of America. I just went right on through the green light (traffic Signal) and looked to my left, and there it was. On my way back through that area, I then noticed the lights for the train. The signals must not be tied together. I was just looking at the traffic signal. Almost made the paper! Then again I hate driving anywhwere cause I'm a lousy driver.
Met Zeyphy! He looks XCACTLY like Carboard Zephy! I'm ssssoooo glad a bunch o'us were there to welcome home a hero. Since he was the only one, there wasn't like a huge turnout o'peeps (which reminds me, I've got some getting hard I need to get to...). He deserved a hero's welcome and I'm glad there was a bunch o'us there to give him one.
I cried buckets and buckets and buckets. It was ssssssssooooooo beautiful looking at him and Mrs. Zephy hugging and crying. I just lost it. I cried the most after those two! ("What's new, green?") I'm so damn thankful I was there. After hugging him, I shook his hand and welcomed home in an appropriate, 'adult', hero kind'a welcome.
I'm so damn proud of that man. My chest just wants to burst. He had on his camo fatigues. Sandy/brown. And his little Sargent's hat; and the coolerest boots you ever wanna see! Really neat. He looked - and carried himself, and acted - every single bit the hero he is. I'm SO PROUD O'YOU, ZEPHY!!!
It was well worth missing class for.
At TGI Friday's, a bunch o'us were there before Zephy. Sos I said to our server - you know me... "Say, got anything free for a guy just off the plane from Iraq?" He said, "No. Don't think so," as he shook his head. I says, "Well, how about you asking the on duty manager and finding out for me?"
Gotta give him and Friday's credit. The guy was very pleasant, didn't get all huffy, and Friday's did right by Zephy. HURRAY!
