I can't remember where your cable thread is so I'll come here to bitch about mine. I tried calling all last night and the damn recording would transfer me to a non-working number. All day today too. No internet at all. I was nekid I tells you. From the unusually high caller volume they said was happening and the fact that I couldn't even get to a hold spot without being disconnected, I thought there was another outage. Well I just got off the phone with them and they said that they're actually sitting around doing nothing. Like 30 minutes between calls. WTF? I don't get it. Either way they're coming out tomorrow morning to see what's up. He could see I was kicked off line last night about 10:30 but can't see why. And I gotta get my damn taxes in. Way to go Kitch. It's all your fault!
CM.. what kind of Modem do you have there? How long have you had it?
WhaleTail - I've had it about 3 years now. Maybe 4? I know it's your old one and I will definately ask for a new one tomorrow. How do I do that if it's not that problem?
Oh shit.. yes switch it out....Between the 16 QAM upgrades and the Bed Rock conversion and not to mention the change of the UBR domain names a few months ago those modems can't hang. If your VOD was working when the internet was not then it's most likely not a wire/premise problem....I'm not at work so I can't tell you anything about the state of your modem. But thats what it sounds like.
I even had to swap out the one I had and it was just a year old.
Hopefully they can confirm it's just a modem issue and get you back up with no problems.
Most likely not.... mainly because I work nights....and I deal mainly with the maintenance and hub/headend techs....I only worked that day shift for a few months before they promoted me..... But if they are seasoned level three techs (HSI and above) then they already know the deal with the modems. I'm willing to bet he will check levels and swap the modem. He might just swap the modem lol...
If you are wanting to say something to catch his/her attention you can always tell them I work in the LNOC. If they have been around long enough he/she will know what that means.....
