The only thing I know about Metallica is that they were very popular with the "troubled teens" I worked with for a couple of years after college. It kinda makes me smile to hear adults talking about them! :-)
The X also has what they call "Theater Bowl" configuration for smaller concerts. They basically move the stage close to one end and only sell tickets for that end of the arena. It's more intimate.
Zeph, will you be back in time for the State Fair? end of Aug-first part of Sept
No, I will be missing the State Fair it appears :(
Sorry to hear about your grandma GDan, but like you said, it will be nice to see your family again
I don't even want to imagine a concert at the dome.
I think I saw Van Halen and BTO at the dome with John... at least I think that is where it was back in April 1986... That was pretty cool, we were very far away and was a little hard to see but I dont remember sound being an issue... but then again, I was in 6th grade and I was going to a concert, so I could have had to listen through headphones and I would have thought it was great ;)
I saw Metallica at Target Center for the black album, we got some of the last seats available. Ticket master warned us that we were going to be behind a backdrop and I was thinking, there is no backdrop for this tour.... Was great, we were only like 10 rows or so from front row, and that was just 20 feet from stage, best concert I have ever been to.
Good Saturday Morning.........from wonderful sunny hot Nova Scotia.........SEEE ! I told ya it does happen.........now I am off to mow, and then get things ready for the pool to be up.........hope you all have a wonderful weekend.........
I'll trade ya, it was up to 115 today, and is supposed to be 118 tomorrow... fun fun fun :)
I should start burning,,, I mean tanning or something
Pentagon to close Camp Snoopy
That sucks, we were supposed to be doing some covert ops training there on the Rock & Wall... Dang, we will have to go to the LegoLand thingy instead... ::kicks rock::
We had our Combat Lifesaver recertification today, was a blast... never thought I would see so much blood in a training area! Part of the recertification is giving IV fluids. I was one of the last people to go through it, and it was pretty shaky, you have to stick someone, and you have to get stuck. I watched 1 guy get stuck successfully after 3 attempts by one girl, 2 attempts by another... Another guy was about to get his 6th when I mentioned maybe he needed to be relieved... Â I let his partner stick me, and after all of the practice on the other guy, he did it alright... finally. I did mine in flying colors, calm-cool-collected... stuck it nice and smoothe, got the catheter in real nice, when I went to hook up the bag.... um, well my hands were tied and I needed to get the other end off of the tube. I had it put into my mouth and almost grabbed the end with my teeth and pulled the cap off when it was realized, not only by myself, but by the instructor, his assistant, and 3 other students that the end was sitting in a pool of blood, and it was all over the end I was about to bite off... Well, we all noticed it at the same time, and I felt about as big as a flea... but I let the "patient" pull off the end cap, and I completed it successfully. I did really well, got it all on the first try, but there are no bonus points for trying to rehydrate myself on the patients blood. :(
It was neat, this was the first time we were doing it more than one at a time. When the catheter is inserted, and prior to the IV tube being plugged into it, the blood keeps pouring out... there were huge looking messes everywhere. Had we not cleaned up after ourselves after each indiviual person, it would have looked like there were major casualties there... pretty cool for a trianing day, you will never see that in the states :p
Well, I am off to find some virgins... getting kinda thirsty
Wow, sounds like...um...fun. (Not!) Although it's good to know you can save someone's life.
Congrats on getting it done on the first try! Next time I'm sure you will look before you bite. (Yuck!)
Legoland...Is that where they have that huge ball crawl? I saw Arnold in there when they were filming "Jingle All the Way." That would make for some good training! ;-)
Oops! and I should mention, not to be greedy, but.....sorry NO trades on the weather right now, please........it is sunny and lovely here right now, want to keep it as long as possible.......will think of ya while I am in the pool with my dusty bullwinkles (canadian beer = Moosehead Light)
It seemed more like a family reunion than a funeral and I think that is what grandma wanted.
Well, I am glad it turned out that way, I know it was tough for me when my grandpa(s) died, and I know that having a good (happy) family can really help out alot. Glad to see you made the trip back ok :)
Have a good day to all, this is really slow today, and it is really late...
GDZ, sorry to hear about your grandmother. Wish it was a happier occasion to see your relatives. Let us know how it goes.
