grrr...big oops on my part...right now I feel like MMMIKEY...

Tower is not that big...but I got a one track mind on the "walton" re-run thing...

I told mucky I like tower from clue 1 and clue 2....I said I'd go look while she went to go get me2.....I goofed...my fault...all my fault...

tower is tiny tiny tiny tiny...should have looked...would have taken me just about 5 mins. to look...

too many hunts in a week might have screwed my mind up...

grrrr...when will I learn?? when?? I'm seriosly hoping that I'm paying my dues...

oh a fuel truck flipped on 94/35

Shoot, Tower was hardly even on the radar for me, everybody threw me off with that rerun nonsense...

That's why I want the explanations...

And I'm already talking over taking time off next year around this time, I've had it with hearing about medallions being found while I'm sitting at work.

Wed, 06/22/2005 - 12:49 PM Permalink
KC0GRN

I think I'm more bummed than kitch, this one kinda hits home for me, I did my homework on this one and everything... then I couldn't even pick the right park.. wait pick no, I just listened to suggestions, then todays clue came out and made me sure of it...

KCORN--

my fault..take it out on me...

seriously....

But if you want to feel the pain....

I'll take the blame for SSP (which sucked)

Mucky can take the blame for WBL.

You can take the blame for Oakdale.

...but you are right if I would have taken a vacation day I would have left the beerstube yesterday and drove up the road to Tower.

KC0GRN

eh, actually there's nobody to blame, just our luck I guess. Bah! I seriously need to take the vacation time next year around this week so I can really spend some time on these hunts.

well at least there's still roseville. Lets hope we fare better than the teenagers this year

where at?

did you already tell me this?
Wed, 06/22/2005 - 1:08 PM Permalink
KC0GRN

I know I know, that park is tiny... it would've taken me all of 20 minutes to search.

That's what I'm saying though, next year I need the time off to check all these parks. I'm betting I could do a thorough search of all the small parks in a single day, if that, if I had the full day to do it.

KITCH

sorry kcorn---

I got suckered into the re-run thing...

as soon as I saw carinval today...I got sold

I've got to learn from my mistakes...big mistake and I've learned...

2 go with gut

3 go with gut

KC0GRN

yeah I hear ya. Of course my idea I told you about didn't pan out either, so either way my gut wasn't telling me tower at all.. probably right about all these hunts going on at the same time, gets the mind confused.

Don't think I'll end up at the moose tonight, I haven't even the foggiest idea where the moose is, but I've gotta hit up WBL and Oakdale for the clue explanations, if there's any to be had. Start prepping for next year.

fyi - don't ever under estimate your gut!

....I try hard to underestimate it...specially when I buy new pants...
Wed, 06/22/2005 - 1:26 PM Permalink
KC0GRN

lol I don't believe I've ever underestimated that...

Sometimes I just don't get a gut feeling though. Kinda like with this hunt, no real intuition, kinda why I need the explanations, I'd like to know why they mentioned reruns...

Anyways, roseville, clue #1, Tuesday the 28th at 6:29 pm, I'll be there. Gotta be early though, last year they had read the clue before we got there.

Maybe a little bird mentioned something in an e-gram that could have helped you.

I'm bummed too. I was looking forward to hunting after work. :frown:

Well as long as everyone is taking the blame....blame me...I came up with the rerun idea

I also spent more time at Yost than anyone else here....why didn't I find that one....I suck at medallion hunting

Heh...

couldnt get onto this sit for anything today, for some reason.... but got the clues, and ended up bussing all over and getting my but lost.... wish I would have been able to get on here and find out that it had actually been found.... damn!

well..gang...what do you think??

clue 1

In League?

As we packed up from our rafting voyage on the West Coast river we were approached by a kindly older gentleman who calls himself Old Man Bollard. “I’ve been following your adventures,” he said, “and I’d like to join your League.”

“Well, we’re not much of a league,” I told him with a slight chuckle. “It’s just my wife and my son and I.”

“Nonsense,” the old man insisted. “I’ve been reading all the logs. You have people helping you from all over the country - all over the world, in fact. Where are you headed next? I’ll take you there.”

We had left our car at the other end of the Willamette, so the idea of getting a ride was rather appealing. I told Old Man Bollard the general region of our next adventure, and that we would appreciate a ride back to our car near Eugene.

“I’ll do better than that,” Bollard exclaimed. “I’ll drive you Coast to Coast to Coast.”

Paul A.

clue 2

Wagon train to the North

My wife, Alice and I were not much for protesting when Old Man Bollard offered to drive us to our next destination, so we loaded all our gear, lock, stock and barrel, into the back of his Ford pickup and headed for the third coast. It’s a rickety old wagon of a vehicle that looks like it was built in 1924. A “Flower Power” sticker is prominently displayed on the bumper. At least I think it says “Flower Power.” Part of the first word is pretty scuffed up. But I’m sure this old truck will get us to where we are going.

We’ll be stopping at N45°00.9,W93°10.9 to meet up with some more locals this evening. BE THERE and pick up another clue.

Paul A.

clue 3

Fallen gold

We are grateful to Old Man Bollard for giving us a ride on this adventure but the journey has been long. His old Ford pickup is falling apart, and weÂ’ve had to make several stops to put pieces of it back together. The bumper fell off on I-90. We retrieved it and Anthony was able to reattach it with some duck-tape and bailing wire. That boy is quite a saint. Anthony dropped the bumper as he was taping it up and I couldnÂ’t help but notice something Hidden when it fell. The fallen, rusty, twisted steel support from the bumper revealed a magnetic hide-a-key on the underside. Anthony reached down to pick it up but the Old Man snatched it, clinching it to his chest like it was gold.

looks like st. anthony or hidden falls...

Flower Power = Power Plant

Ford Plant. ...

The curb cut has an 11% grade. An old Hydro-Electric Turbine used by the Ford Plant between 1924-1994 is on display at the top of Hidden Falls
