Yeah? So what. Say the same thing to him about his drivel and i'll listen to you. But that will never happen.

I know you'll never listen to me.

Like Rick would ever criticize a fellow, flaming, left wing, wacko.

Coward? Really? Tell us the REAL reason you ENLISTED in the Navy, Foldo.

I recall Bill Fold saying he signed up for the Navy to avoid being drafted into the Army.

I'll have to look for the post.

I didn't join because I was only five years old.

I didnt join when I got out of high school because I was afraid there might be a war somtime and I'd get shot.

But I talked to a Navy recruiter when I graduated from college. Then I changed my mind.

Then I thought I wanted to join the Merchant Marine, and had one of the stupidest conversations I ever had with anyone. I didn't want to be a Merchant sailor. I wanted to be a writer, and I figured I needed seagoing experience. The guy on the phone asked me if I had a license.

License? Whattaya talkin' about. I was living in North Dakota! I wanted to sing sea chantys, drink Scotch from a cup. Sieze the day!

I would have been thrown overboard my first voyage, because the rest of the guys would have soon figured out I didn't want to do any work.

Hey JT, did you find that post yet?

No, but I'll try when I get a chance. I've got other things to do than sift through posts right now.

See, you should save more important-information like that!

I don't live my life that way. What you did thirty years ago means little to me. Other than when you use it against others here.

By the way... you say you would have been 5, too young. But why didn't you join in 1989 or so? You certainly would have been old enough to officially stop a bullet for the USA by then... eh?

Not that I would have joined, but they wouldn't have me anyway. So it's a moot point.

"See, fuckwad coward, they ENDED the draft that same year......"

Who said anything about a draft, Fold? You, bringing that up instantly, speaks volumes....chickenman.

That's easy, tired old man. I didn't need the service acting as my mommy after i turned 18.

Honestly, I don't give a rip why Bill Fold joined the navy other than I wish he'd quit the chest thumping.

He even gives shit to those that defend him.

"The 8th graders are in this morning."

The Twin Cities area, stick up his ass, elitist, left wing wacko, is in this morning.

Sorry, torpedo I forgot 8th grade insults are your idea of fun.

The wacko will step aside.

"Never served a day in uniform (Other than Cub Scouts)."

I went to the Cub Scouts, but quit after one meeting with the Boy Scouts. None of the guys in the troop ever wore a uniform and they were all three to four years older than me.

They resembled a gang more than a troop. And I knew where I'd fit in on a camping trip.

"Let's smear his pack with honey and see if we can get a bear to chase him."

I tried Cub Scouts. Went to a couple meetings and just didn't like it. I told my parents I wasn't going anymore. The leader was my best friends Dad, and also one of my parents best friends. Therefore my parents tried to force me to go but I basically said "You can force me to go, but I won't participate, I'll be a bitch the whole time, and make everyone's life there miserable".

I no longer had to go.

I hope he's right, but I have my doubts. Imagine the tragedy of pulling troops out of Iraq only to see the country fall apart. Then all of it was a waste.

"We told them if they established a government we would back off," she said. "They established a government, but we're still there."

I don't think you can call what's in Iraq an established government, yet.

I agree, Rick.

Although I think we needed to do something about Saddam, we should have waited until Osama was taken care of first.

Oh well, we didn't. We can't just bail on Iraq now.

Yah, well... when you can tell me even one teensy-little thing you have
ever
done to advance the welfare of even 1 Veteran,
then you can go fuck yourself.

JT and others have tried many times to guide you to sanity.

By the way, Jethro...?
JT, YOU and PEDO...
NONE of you are Veterans, but come in here and hassle others you WILL DO,
at the drop of a hat.

Just because one is a veteran doesn't exempt them from criticism when they put themselves in the middle of political issues. As we all know veterans are like the population as a whole. There are nitwits, and dimwits and imbeciles in both categories.

Maybe that is something that does need to change...

I hate to say this but IMHO the military does market towards poorer education states.......maybe the need to REALLY improve its higher education program and recruit better members of society.

grated..they have a few select programs...but I gotta think they just want a balance of dumb and smart....
