Big Hug & High Five for Mucluck

After that 60 mile walk you deserve it!

Nick, stillwater, thousand bucks, july 20th is the kickoff. They're having their kickoff like roseville's someone reads off the first clue. Sadly it's during the day and I have to work. But I'll still go out looking, I have yet to find one myself (but I got the next best thing by knowing someone who has, and the registered button and all).

It's not the clues as much as it is the easy hiding spots. I always compare MK's hunt where it was jammed way up inside that clock light pole to the SSP one I found just balancing between two bricks on a monument in the center of town. I could have seen that thing by just driving by. It took at least 4 of us looking inside of that pole until Jake finally found it. I think that we're just used to a little harder hiding places is all. Once you put it into your mind that you won't need to cover every square inch of weeds to find these local hunts, I think you can blow through them much faster.

The trick still is to at least get out there and look. I've snoozed on all of them so far except for 1 hour for the SSP hunt. :frown:

Have any of them gone over 3 clues so far? That is sad.

wbl went 6 I think...was a coolercrew kinda hide.

clue 3 this year....
Wed, 06/29/2005 - 1:07 PM Permalink
mucluck

Wow, now that was fun......I was shocked that it was so easy to find!

I had quickly checked a couple of parks on my way to get the clues, hadn't even seen the first one. There was only 3 parks south of 36 left to check, and Pioneer was the closest and smallest. I figured I would save the bigger ones for when me2 and kitch joined me. I checked the rock wall by the gardens and then walked the short path around the park the benches were all the mess stuff so not an option, just as I was preparing to leave I spotted the drinking fountain and remembered the NSP hunt. Sure enough there it was!!

I'm sorry me2 I know you really wanted to hunt :frown:

Everyone is invited to the Moose tonight to help celebrate. Starting around 8, stop by and say hi!!

actually not all the small town hunts are easy hides. White Bear Lake comes to mind, they stuck it in clay and mashed it in dirt, then chucked it in the woods. Shoot between Mucluck and myself I'm sure we put in a ton of time trying to find that one (well mucluck probably more, but it felt like I spent a ton of time in the right park).
Wed, 06/29/2005 - 1:47 PM Permalink
KITCH

I was only in the park for 15mins...and the girls found it...
Wed, 06/29/2005 - 1:48 PM Permalink
KC0GRN

yeah but it still wasn't an easy hide, they just happened to be lucky.

That one made me mad....I searched those woods for hours, got scratched by buckthorn and eaten by skeeters.

I almost forgot....the girl said she "had" to find kcorn's button card....

she then brings out a stack of maybe 200 of them...she finds in less than 15 secs.

I was amazed by that...

I think the news lady thought that bit about my purchasing the last button was interesting too.

Best part of my day though was when they pulled out that registration form. I had this bad feeling like maybe the kiwanas guy didn't drop em off or it got lost or something.
