This weather is invigorating! Love having all the windows open and the wind blowing doors shut. LOL!
Some interesting news on the job front. Seems I'm being asked to apply for a position in the Foundation. I was sent the job description today and invited to ask questions. If I'm interested, they will only post it internally. Yipppeeee!!!!
heh... went at virtually the last second, saw mark mallman on the "rock n roll" stage thats hidden practically off in the woods....
had a real funny run-in with that guy from Sugar Ray, later on in the evening....hahahah.... i dissed him kinda bad and didnt even know it was him until afterwards....
Xcel was kinda enough to ignore their own rules yesterday....... Someone decided to dig without calling and cut 2 x 312 count fibers. Basically the entire nothern metro was offline for 6 hours. That makes about 9,000 plus people.Had fun cleaning that up.... however since I was at work early I got to watch the Taste fireworks always a treat.
Other news..... My new schedule starts the week of 17 July. I will start working Tues - Friday 9pm till 8am. That schedule rocks like you can't imagine. The other good news and this is from a standpoint of driving all the way to 10 RPP, is that we are moving back to the Fairview Headend in the next month. So I will have a shorter drive. The other good thing is no politics. I will have the entire place to myself all night long. Will be a nice change back after working here.
We went down to Owatana yesterday with our Housing inspector. He found a rotten floor joist if the owners do not want to have it repaired we are backing out of the deal.
Nice ESD (except the floor joist) I'm relaxed just looking at those pictures. I picture TV's open window weather comments and put myself in that house.
GL Ter on the job. Sounds like an easy in.
Grats OTiS on the new hours and location. I would love hours like that. I'll just miss your sunrise shots of downtown is all.
I always wanted to see a full circle rainbow but it seems next to impossible but I know it is possible. Just look at the rainbow you can create with a garden hose. They're always round so it has to be possible somehow with the right conditions.
loving your avatar, esd! nice house. except the rotting picture you posted. that's an easy fix though. house jacks are relatively inexpensive. my folks have got the same problem on one of their posts. (and the electrical looks decent too. but damn. why all the panels. oh well. at least they're square-d)
Hey Mucluck, that reporter that asked us some questions on Wednesday called me this morning, asked me for some more info about my troubles in finding a button. Said she's trying to get the story in a paper or something along those lines. Might be seeing the cooler crew in the paper yet!
lol ok ESD, where U reading my mind?? lol stealin my squirrel.. why I oughta!! Just kidding! Congrats on the new job, that's awesome!! It's been a long time coming, that's for sure. I had been praying that you'd find something, glad to hear that prayer has been answered!
She is good she is starting to stand, now the trouble starts. Dawg is good we are really busy trying to get the house ready to go on the market by Tuesday
That's awesome. The best thing you can do is get out of that bad neigborhood. Mark and I will be moving at the end of the month too  We bought a 2001 manufactured home in Mplwd. The park there on 36 and 61 where the old Mapleleaf drive in used to be. My mom lives there, and we have many of other friends and family members who live there. That, and it's a heck of a lot better than the crap hole apt we're living in now!!
Well that sucked. I missed them! I should have checked the start time. I assumed it would be at dusk. It was 7. Oh well. Gonna hit the sack early and get an early start out tomorrow for the cabin.
That is a bummer 3M. I wanted to be back in time to see Deep Purple. I however did make it back in time to watch fireworks from the bluffs. They were extremely short and dull. Nothing like Memorial Day fireworks anymore...Mellaluca puts on a tremendous show.
Good Luck getting to your cabin. I had to drive to Aitkin yesterday at noon and it took my almost 4 hours 'drive time' to get there.
I have a suprise "Hello" photo I will post in the photo thread
Reminder Invite: Parking is only $5 down by the Island, but if you want to park for free and walk down, just give me a call or even drive by to see if we have room. (it is only a short 5 block walk). Monday will be the worst for parking around here. Everywhere around the bluffs is Parking by Permit Only.
A few of us are walking down to Taste around 5ish. Maybe we will see some of you down there. Last year we ran into MyDaliance...or was that the year before?
I don't know if we are watching fireworks down on Harriet or from the bluffs...but you are more than welcome to swing by afterwards for a bonfire nightcap
Well they accepted ore demand to fix the floor joist and the chimney so it looks like all we have to do is sell our house. It goes on the market Tuesday the 5th.
Fireworks at Maplewood were excellent. What's more is that we found a spot near enough to get the full effect, AND was in a great spot to make a quick getaway and avoid ALL of the traffic hassles.
I hope all the others there didn't trash or mangle the area, or next year I expect the businesses will be blocking the area off. Either way, I'll be going for the same spot next year.
what's a 4th of july post without Takeru Kobayashi.
He's slowing down only 49 this year!!!

but OMG...
The runner-up was Sonya Thomas of Alexandria, Va. — known as The Black Widow on the competitive-eating circuit — who set an American record by downing 37 hot dogs in the same 12 minutes.

Thanks for posting the pictures of the house, ESD. Nice! I love old houses. One owns me too.
didn't go down to Taste but the fireworks were louder than I ever remember. I watched some from the front porch but they were overall too low.
good luck with the job, terry.
I saw this photo and thought of your avatar MM
