What's with all the remakes?

I'm so fricking sick of remakes!

War of the worlds, bad news bears, herbie, charlie and the chocolate factory, the longest yard....

Has hollywood lost all creativity?

4 out of 5 movies that come out are remakes or sequels, anything slightly original nowadays is oscar-worthy.

Well the best part of this new job is every one there is in to guns, I am trading my M1 Garand for a Ruger mini 14 and a 50 cal. Hawken black powder gun tomorrow in the parking lot  It's like a gun show after work every day. :goofy:

lol as long as it isn't a gun showdown in the parking lot everyday

As for the past life thing, I didn't find it creepy at all, just factually improbable. Most of their timeframes don't seem to mesh with actual history.

I don't know how you feel about it, but you were male in your last earthly incarnation.

You were born somewhere in the territory of modern Mongolia around the year 1825.

Your profession was that of a warrior, hunter, fisherman or executor of sacrifices.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your brief psychological profile in your past life:

Thanks everyone! I'm way excited!!

KT - I think that is exactly what it means. No more auditors!!!!

The only things that will mess up hunting is a VP, a Div. Director and my boss. I had to tell her I would be gone for a week for jury duty today so I thought I'd save the medallion hunt till later.

Did I tell yaz? I'm truly, wonderfully happy about this.

so i'm working this morning, and my computer blue screens on me. several times. eventually, after listening to it, the hard drive is chattering quite a bit. and not a normal chatter, one of those "i'm dying" chatters. can't even boot the machine. so i left work early, and the only thing allowing me to save my data from the drive before turning the laptop over to is&t tomorrow morning with an "its broke, fix it" statement is the freezer to keep the disc cold. ugh!

fortunately, it looks like i'm getting everything off of it before it dies completely.

You're one of the lucky ones ares. My wife kept restarting it once she heard the death click. I knew about the freezer method but tried it and it was too late. :frown:

Geek squad couldn't get anything off of it either and suggested I try On-Track. My bro works there and he couldn't even use their clean room for anything under $1000.00!

hey, and i work for a backup software company too. i should know better  of course, its very difficult to be the guy who writes the installation code, and test said code all the while keeping the software installed on your system.

Well I'm on a short hiatus from my vacation. My father in law has a medical appt that my wife wants to go to. Should find out more info about his prostate cancer. We lasted 7 hours camping last weekend. Too many horse flys and too damn hot! We found a motel nearby in Isle and stayed there the next 3 days. We put on over a 100 miles a day on the ATV's. Blew a tire the last day. Luckily we were only a 1/2 mile away on the way back and I drove it slow to get back. Now I can't find a new tire the right size. Had to order 1 from Bobs cycle and hoping it will be in friday. We're going boating the next couple days and the back up to her Aunts cabin north of Danbury. Hoping to have the tire fixed, but can get by with only one ATV for the weekend if I have too.

Congrats on the job Terry!

Glad you could save the hard drive Ares. What is the trick with the freezer?

electronic components work better when they're cold. so something that's on its last legs can have a little bit of life extended to it by giving it some subzero therapy. and the good news is i'm almost ready to put the lappy back together and hand it over to is&t in the morning

I had something unlike that happen while I was in Ft Hood... I dont remember the name of the part... but the thing in the back of the laptop monitor that turns on the backlight was going out... I had to put the laptop in the fridge for an hour before I could restart it... once it was on, it was on... but if it shut off, I had to move the case of coke over

wow- I can't imagine losing everything on my computers! Last week, the server at work crashed- it cost $12,000 to replace it. I was lucky to have not lost months of work on my computer at work! I hadn't backed it up- one of those things that we always say "won't happen to me"
